We recently sold our home through David Burr, Leavenheath office, having been recommended David Burr by a family member who had also had a positive experience. From the first valuation visit, we could not fault their service. Jack was professional throughout the process. In particular, at the time of marketing we wanted a discreet sale. Our property was sold by David Burr without being placed on Rightmove within 3 days. Above all, the communication from Martina throughout the process was outstanding. She kept us fully informed, in often stressful situations. In particular, she was excellent in liaising with all solicitors, ensuring the chain moved forward. I would highly recommend David Burr and a further family member will be utilising their services in the future.

I’ve been through a very drained process in buying our first house here. Martina was following up constantly with solicitors. She was pushing things along even she was not the buyer/seller. What a professional, responsible behaviour of her on taking the tasks like her own when no one else weren’t. I appreciate her for that. The Leavenheath staff were extremely professional in the sale of our house. Martina worked tirelessly to get us through to completion, mainly due to problems with the firms of solicitors. 5 years ago we purchased our first property through David Burr Leavenheath as the selling agent. Julian at David Burr in Leavenheath was the agent for our house purchase almost a year ago. It was a very long and difficult process to manage with a really awkward vendor who refused to communicate with us directly and insisted on using a solicitor in Wales! Julian was amazing and managed to make it all come together when we really thought it might not. Just as we were starting to wonder whether estate agents had become an unnecessary middle-man, Julian demonstrated, with flying colours, why rightmove is no replacement for the conveyancing end of the process.

I am very satisfied with the service provided by David Burr Estate Agents. I dealt with the staff in their Leavenheath Office and would have no hesitation in recommending them. I was selling a property in my capacity as an executor of a will and as such required an early valuation. This was carried out by Jack who was extremely efficient and knowledgeable about the local area property market. He was punctual, communicated clearly, spent some time looking over the property properly and even brought a land registry map of the property to clarify boundaries. When it came time to engage the estate agents I had two companies which were possible contenders but I was swayed by Jack bringing the land registry map and also the close proximity of the office to the property I was selling. Whilst agreeing terms I had some queries on the admin side which were very clearly resolved by Evie in the office. As I lived some distance from the property and unable to conduct the viewings, all of them were carried out by Martina and Julian who were both reassuring and professional. They informed me of all the viewings as soon as they had them booked. When it came to feedback they always contacted me first rather than me having to chase them. If I did need to contact them and they were not in the office when I phoned or were on another call, they always phoned me back, or where required emailed me. They always returned my call the same day and I did not have to chase a second time. Once we had an offer, Julian conducted the negotiations for me and obtained the asking price at that time, having followed my instructions. I think I was fortunate in that my buyers were genuine and were as keen to complete the sale as I was, but nevertheless David Burr agents were professional and informative at all times making the process very smooth, which I thank them for.

Jack Thornley was recommended to me by a neighbour as a potential privately arranged sale I had arranged myself turned nasty and fell through. He spoke to me on the phone and was so reassuring that it took away a lot of the angst and worry. David Burr then marketed our house with beautiful pictures that wowed our friends and family, and the potential buyers! We had two offers within ten days, and accepted one from the sort of family we had dreamed of passing our house on to. Then the chain broke in the middle of the Brexit turmoil in October 2019. That’s when we saw how very good Jack, Julian and Sam were. They helped us stay calm, were more on top of our buyers’ buyers house sale than our buyers’ estate agent. In fact, in our chain, we all refer to Jack as the ‘really good’ estate agent who we refer difficulties to. Yesterday we exchanged at a price 98.3% of the asking price in a terrible market. Thank you Jack et al! PS I haven’t ever been to Leavenheath and only met Jack at my property. Our house was in one of the villages surrounding Colchester. Don’t be put off by the fact that the office is a bit out of the way in Leavenheath. My only regret is that I probably won’t be able to use Jack in the future as I now live in Leicestershire!

Mark was always happy to help in everyway he could, even contacting the sellers solicitors for us for update when our solicitors (O'neill Patient) were absolutely rubbish.
