We recently bought a property in Kennington with the help of Oliver in the Kennington office. Throughout the process Oliver was extremely courteous and professional, going out of his way to answer and queries and help manage any problems efficiently and promptly. I couldn't have asked for better service. The whole team were extremely friendly and willing to help when I called the office. Overall extremely pleased with the purchase, the customer service and the professional manner both Oliver and the team.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Tom Floyd for six years. I bought my flat through Tom in 2012 and instantly liked him. When I was planning on selling my flat I immediately wanted to get him on board, and I am delighted to have just sold my flat through one his excellent colleagues Jake Woolford. Throughout the whole process I was kept informed of each step and I always felt that I was getting sound advice from Tom and his team. Since securing an offer Jake has been incredibly professional and honest and has helped the whole process run very smoothly. He has guided me through a number of issues and I am very grateful for all his hard work and input. I also used Winkworth to manage my flat through their letting department for a couple of years. I always felt that they did a very good job and had no issues with them as a landlord. Nikki Rollins was the agent who I dealt with and she was always very professional and efficient. Winkworth - Appalling Service

Winkworth, Sunningdale, Appalling Shoddy ServiceThe service we had to endure from Winkworth over the last 2 years was atrocious. Fortunately the rental has now ended and we have been able to leave Winkworth. We will certainly never use them again. They have absolutely desire to deliver a good service, you call their office and invariably the call is not picked up. The lady in the letting department is off on holiday or sick more often than not, it is a rare day you call and can be put through to her. Your emails are not replied to, you have to chase for an answer. The tenants told us that the lady from the letting department pointed out faults in the house (faults that we were not aware of). They failed to collect the correct amount of rent for the last year of the rental, they had taken their fee for rent collection but had not provided any level of service for this charge. Their recent rental valuation was low in comparison to other agents, they had totally disregarded the current conditions in the rental market, you cannot trust their guidance. I would highly recommend that you do NOT use Winkworth unless all the other local agents have closed down.

Winkworth Shepherd’s Bush

I only dealt with Winkworth Shepherd’s Bush on Uxbridge Road and can honestly say it was my worst experience as a tenant. All of the good reviews seem to be from landlords and people having their houses let for them, they only care about making money from these people and not about the tenants. Sophie Feighan was the most unprofessional, either clearly very new to her job or just awful at it, taking forever to collect our information and asking us for the same things two or three times which we had already provided easily and make a contract, I actually had to ask in the end please can we have a contract by the end of today or I don’t think we would have got one before the tenancy was due to start. Endless phone calls to get any updates or confirmation. Coming towards the end of our tenancy we had two separate people contacting us (one of them Karen Buckley who I expected more from being high up in the company) for meter readings, keys handing in etc which again we already provided the first time, there is absolutely no communication between staff so be prepared to repeat yourself lots of times and get frustrated. The final straw was they actually sent the deposit back to the wrong account after we confirmed it with them twice?! Luckily it was still the account of someone who lived there but not the one we specified and had been checking all day for the money. Completely unprofessional, rude and slow at their jobs. It’s not worth the effort required for the high fees they charge for an awful service.

Henry Synge and his team in RBKC were a pleasure to deal with. They acted in a professional and polite manner and I had a realistic offer accepted after a few weeks of negotiations.The vendor was maladroit and unrefined; yet Henry still maintained excellent communications with the different parties involved and he managed to get the contracts done. Finally, as a foreign buyer, caveat emptor applies in RBKC. It's nowhere near as nice as LA- Beverly Hills or NY-Upper East Side (yet the prices in RBKC are higher per sq ft). It's a very complicated area and in my honest opinion, there are only a handful of garden squares or roads that are worth it.

Winkworth Crediton

Having used this office for many years, but now under new ownership with Winkworth, I automatically used then again when looking for a new tenant for my one bedroom mews house in Crediton. I took them 12 weeks to find a suitable replacement tenant, meaning the property was empty for 10. I did need and made use of 2 weeks for redecoration etc. but in effect missed out on 8 weeks of income. Will not use again.

Thomas Syms saved my purchase

Agreed purchase at a price we were really happy with but mortgage market going crazy caused us huge delays with our mortgage. The vendor previously listed dual agent and the other agent kept following up, despite being under offer, and us doing all we can to proceed as fast as possible. Without Thomas’ great levels of communication we could have lost the sale, very grateful for his assistance and will stay in touch with him long term.

They are charging outrageous amounts for rent, far more than the property is worth, and they have been completely unresponsive when I’ve tried to get clarity on why the costs are so high.On top of that, they’ve held my full deposit without any valid explanation and refused to communicate properly. Getting in touch with them is almost impossible, and they never arrange meetings with the landlord, even when it's necessary. DISAPPOINTING overall!I have to say, always had a pleasant experience with the agents, they do take their time for you and they are committed to their work.Unfortunately I can't say the same about the propriety management team whom I have struggled with since the beginning, they mostly act in behalf of the landlord and they would rip you off whenever they can.I left my old propriety (rented through WW) on the 31st of May 2022 and legally they have 14 days to agree on your deposit refund. We are now 25 days later and I have to chase them so they can chase the landlord.My fault is that I am unable to obtain a council tax bill online so H&F have sent me one by post which should be received within the next 10 working days. Even if I have provided bank receipts (actual invoices where you can see all the details), they are refusing to accept this, perhaps a way to buy even more time with the deposit.From my very own experience and with this honest review, I am asking you to avoid renting via Winkworth if your propriety will be managed by their team, it's a STRUGGLE!AN

Agents are rude

An agent named Beth at Winkworth was extremely rude to my partner and I about a possible viewing. We both work full-time and are unable to attend viewings during the day, and as my partner started to explain this to her - she said "okay, bye" and hung up. A separate agent at the Kensal & Queens Park office refused to answer my questions about prerequesites regarding our employment. It is confusing when most homes the agency offers requires a certain income but then refuses to deal with those who can't attend viewings during normal 9-5 working hours.

Horrible!They do not deserve this star...but I have to put somethingHorrible from the start to the end. Kept us blocked in a transaction for 9 months. They do not care at all for the buyers, not even for their sellers. They will not put any effort in helping or quite during the transaction. Extremely bad customer service!The solicitors that they recommend (Ledenhall law) expensive and unprofessional. They will never reply to updates request, and if they do,they will do it in an unprofessional and extremely rude manner, not what you will expect from a solicitor.I will never ever in my life want to hear from them again. Disappointing service

Good service while we were looking for somewhere to rent but has got a lot worse since we moved in. Their management company had ignored a number of our requests, including removing old furniture and having the property professionally cleaned. We have also found that a number of the appliances do not work. This would definitely put me off using them again.

Unprofessional letting agents with terrible customer service.

Unfortunately I was met with unprofessional letting agents showing me flats that did not meet the requirements sent out to them, while being dishonest about it being the case. Only found out the flat did not meet the requirements after signing the contract. Was forced to pay a hefty price to purchase the required amenities, a minor percentage of which I asked from Winkworth as compensation. They reluctantly agreed to pay, after more than a month of emailing and only after forcing them with an official complaint. Would definitely not recommend under any circumstances - really untrustworthy with terrible customer service.

A predatory scam. Do not use if a student or young.

AVOID WINKWORTH. I am still annoyed months after moving out. I was in a rolling contract, paid up my last month and moved out with plenty of notice - all fine. Out of the blue they then tried to hold me against a contract I never signed/didn't exist and though I agreed to pay if they could present one (said several times) they refused to present one despite hilariously agreeing at the start one could not be found. This went on for several weeks with back and forth phone calls and emails that went round in circles just pushing for me to pay a further 6 months I was never signed to. My mum's partner called in once. Said exact same thing id said. Phone call lasted 5 minutes. And they dropped it, apologised through him and he sent on the message to me that it would be dropped. I was livid. It felt not only predatory and an utter violation but it felt misogynistic on top of it. I am a Senior in my own job so understand associates have rules and policies to follow (and approached Winkworth also how I like to be approached with such complaints) but they completely made things up as they went along, changing stories over and over to try and get me to pay whilst refusing to provide a signed document to say so.Before moving in my friend told me her Winkworth experience which was very similar. I wish I had listened. This is clearly something they have done before and will probably do again in the hopes someone new to renting will just pay out. Vile.
