Super supportive estate agent in Canary Wharf

We are incredibly thankful for all the assistance, help and surprising kindness shown to us by everyone at Benham & Reeves in selling our flat. In particular Maciej (Canary wharf office) was really amazing especially the speed in replying to answering our emails however minor the query. Even once the flat was sold Maciej still checked in 3 times that all was ok. We really are thankful to Maciej and the whole of the Benham & Reeves team.

100% remote management and all's good

I am 100% relying on Benham & Reeves team to manage my property as I live abroad - there are a few hiccups along the way but Ivan and his team are supporting me through these and so far I do not have major troubles in terms of keeping my flat in good condition (though I've never seen it myself) and collecting rents. They definitely know about my flat better than myself. Thank you for treating my flat as if it's your own.

Professional teamwork

Benhams manage the letting of my 2 flats and have recently found new tenants for both flats. Amelia Wright & Samuel Collins were both very helpful and the lettings went smoothly apart from a slight glitch where last minute, it was discovered a piece of furniture was missing from one of the flats. Claire Greenwood very smoothly sorted this out and made sure the furniture was in place in time for the new tenants. Thanks to all at Benhams who are involved in managing my flats, your professionalism is much appreciated.

Abbas Efir was absolutely excellent as…

Abbas Efir was absolutely excellent as Property Management Administrator. He could not have been more helpful and efficient at all times. Shali Motachande as Lettings Negotiator was also terrific. The missing star is because of my unfortunate experience with the Property Manager responsible for making the inventory checkout and deposit nightmarish last year. She knows who she is and I do hope she improves!

A good agency for landlords

Amelia Wright helped me to find tenants for my property. The listing was uploaded with photos and a video very quickly. The property was overpriced initially and issues with the market meant it was empty for 3 months which wasn't ideal. The Property Manager Kaitlyn is very responsive and helpful. I would recommend B&R as their fees are reasonable and they are a well-known company. Sometimes they aren't in the office, but they do respond by telephone, WhatsApp and email in good time.

Great experience dealing with Rahim Velji and B&R…

Great experience working with Rahim Velji during the recent process of renting our flat. He highlighted certain areas in the flat that needed refurbishment or improvement, if done, would lead quickly in finding a good tenant. We took his advice and the needful was done. Rahim and his team, as indicated, then were quickly able to find a suitable tenancy.

The experience of using this agency was first class throughout. Highly competent, efficient and charming agents, Thuraya Al-Haidari and Francesca Moralis, made this an easy transaction, finding three good applicants straight away. Two made offers and we proceeded with one. All went through smoothly and quickly thanks to the agents and my husband and I are delighted to have such a nice new tenant for our flat. The staff were helpful

The staff were helpful, however, one of them was very mean with me and my husband while speaking on the phone. I sent them my tenancy agreement which was just a piece of paper because I used to live in a single room. And she started saying that the tenancy agreement that I sent very “strange”, I was trying to explain but she kept saying same thing with same manner. Also she did the same with my husband. Overall, the others were very kind and helpful.

Incompetent, dishonest, and disgraceful service

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Benham & Reeves, particularly Max Qian, has been an absolute disaster, marked by incompetence, dishonesty, and complete disregard for tenants' well-being.During my tenancy, I encountered a faulty toilet which began producing an overspill. When I contacted Benham & Reeves initially, I received an out-of-office response containing incorrect emergency contact details. Left with no alternative, I hired my own plumber, only for Benham & Reeves to refuse to cover the costs of the repair. It was later determined that the issue was due to the stack pipe, a structural problem that had nothing to do with me. Despite this, they took no accountability. Over the course of around a month, the situation worsened, leaving my only toilet - at one point - unusable for an entire weekend, forcing me to use the pub across the road.Upon checking out of the property, they attempted to hit me with a series of spurious charges, including:1. A cracked induction hob, which was confirmed by my removal team to have been undamaged when I left.2. Smears and marks caused by one of their approved contractors.3. Minor marks on the walls, for which they only provided close-up images, refusing to supply measurements or context to gauge their actual size or significance.4. Steam-cleaning issues, despite the fact that I used their recommended cleaners, who were instructed to steam-clean these items.While they eventually conceded on some of these issues after much back-and-forth, they are still insisting on charging me for marks on the walls that clearly constitute normal wear and tear.This company’s behaviour has been appalling. Their lack of communication, refusal to take responsibility for their failings, and repeated attempts to extort unwarranted costs from me are disgraceful.I cannot emphasise enough, avoid Benham & Reeves at all costs. Their ineptitude and underhanded practices will cost you time, money, and endless stress.
