----Updated Review------ I'd initially rated CHK 5 stars, back when I was a tenant. I was indeed happy with the service back then, but I could not have predicted the hell it would be leaving them. Everything was great while they were getting my money; the day I decided to move to better house (with another agency), things changed drastically. Not only did they try to take as much money from my deposit as possible (I had to raise a dispute with TDS), they became dismissive and quite rude. The most absurd episode took place when, after have been chased with rude emails demanding me to return a £10 pan handle, I went to their offices and the manager did not bother to leave the comfort of her desk at the back of the house to answer my questions - instead, she made a junior staff member go back and forward like a mail pigeon, making the young girl feel nervous and, quite frankly, look extremely foolish. Absolutely appalling.

Everything has been so smooth and hassle free with CHK. From the very beginning they arranged a viewing at the last minute for a property that only went on the market the day before. I cannot thank the staff at CHK MOUNTFORD in Surbiton enough. My grandson was really poorly, with bronchiolitis, in hospital and our boiler was playing up and then stopped working. The staff worked so fast to get it sorted. They got a quote, the approval from the landlord and a new boiler fitted, within 5 days, so our grandson could come home to a safe and warm home. I have been renting out a flat in Surbiton since 1995 (when I married a C of E vicar and of course the house went with the job!). I let my flat privately for a few years, but started using Mountfords' services in 2000 to find tenants; and when we left London for a new job in Norfolk in 2005, I had no hesitation in moving over to a fully managed service as I was no longer in the area. I have at all times experienced professionalism, attention to detail, assistance with arrangement of maintenance matters, regular contact and much more. I could not be more pleased with their service and am very relieved that I came to them twenty years ago!

Watch your deposit. We left a place as spotless as the company we employed to clean the place could clean it(recommended by one of CHK Mountford's own staff) and it was probably cleaner than when we first arrived but were charged £558 to jet wash some moss on the rear patio(!) and to replace one light bulb in the bathroom.(how many Letting agents does it take to replace one light bulb?). Tried to negotiate with them but no joy! Would not recommend them!

Having dealt with the so called creme de la creme of agencies to local agencies in Surrey, they just do not compare to CHK Mountford.
