Matt went above and beyond to help us

Though we have not bought a property through Castles, Matt has been incredibly helpful to us throughout the entire process of searching for a new home. We received weekly calls to see how we were getting along, all the time without pushing properties on us. When we had some issues along the way, Matt spoke to me at length to discuss our options despite having no skin in the game. He has truly gone above and beyond and we will continue to recommend him and the team at Castles to friends looking to move to the area, and will likely list with Matt specifically when we do eventually look to sell our property. I am astounded by the level of commitment Matt has shown over the last few months and we are incredibly grateful for his help and support.

Me and my partner recently purchased our first home through castles which was quite daunting as it was our first home. The team couldn’t be more perfect and were faultless everyone was really friendly and easy to talk to. A big thank you to Lewis who was our main point of contact Lewis was always very friendly, easy to talk to, professional and always got back to us quickly on any questions we ever had and guided us through the process smoothly and quickly. Whether selling or buying your house, castles has to be one of the hardest working estate agents. We are currently looking for a house and Matt Hooton has been the busiest agent we have worked with. Constantly in contact regarding new houses to look at that match our specifications and very efficient in arranging viewings. This is good for us but also is good for the vendors who have Matt actively marketing their houses. This is by far the worst agency I have ever dealt with. Completely useless, unprofessional, and disrespectful. They waste time, waste resources, and treat people like they don’t matter. Nothing works, no one cares, and you’ll only leave frustrated and angry. If I could give 0 stars, I would! When someone is in real need of shelter and support, they only seem to care about money, rules, and paperwork. Only profit and bureaucracy matter to them! At least this is what they have proven! It is heart breaking to see how they treat those who are most vulnerable. I honestly hope that karma gives them the same treatment they gave to us, because no one deserves to be ignored and dehumanized the way they do in special Jake Houchen manager itself! I'm wondering who hired him!

Review for Castle Agency Borehamwood I had a very bad experience with Castle Agency in Borehamwood. They took our money but never provided us with a property. We were told to quickly fill in the references, and were assured that if we needed help, support would be available afterwards. The very next day, we were left with no house and no refund. Jake emailed us saying there were “mistakes” in the application, so we would not get our money back and would not be given a property. When I asked about the help we had been promised, his reply was simply, “I don’t know.” This agency seems to care only about making money, with no regard for people’s feelings or situations. We were genuinely looking for a home to rent, and instead, we were left without both a house and our money. ⚠️ My advice: avoid this company. You may end up in the same situation.

This ongoing process has put us in contact with numerous estate agents, some good, some bad, some really bad. Dealing with Sarah and Harry at Castles Estate Agents has been a breath of fresh air. Knowlegable about their subject matter and proactive in what they do. They've taken the time to understand what it is we want and gone out of their way to try and search off market to find something suitable. James has been brilliant since our first phone call to arrange a viewing. He’s kept in touch with us, kept us up to date, suggested alternatives and even gave some helpful and welcome advice on selling our own property. He was personable and friendly on our viewing recently, giving us space to explore the house whilst also being on hand to answer questions and show us the best of the property and area. If you want quality estate agents for buying or selling in the area, these guys are just that and amazing at it too!! From our first meeting which was with James Lund we knew we were being looked after. He was professional, polite and always available to answer any questions we had.
