Wanted to thank everyone at Miles and Barr, Birchington branch, with special shout outs to Matt and Debbie. Matt was excellent with Mum when she first thought of selling, and then changed her mind.He kept in touch with her and made such a good impression she was adamant that as and when she sold she would use M+B. Unfortunately that was sooner than we thought. Debbie has been exceptionally helpful throughout the sale process, which wasnt straight forward, keeping us up to date with what was happening etc, right through to completion. The rest of the staff were also always very helpful and kept in touch with viewing feedback etc. They have all made a difficult peroid a little easier. Thank you

My interactions with Michelle Purse, in particular, who is always courteous and extremely thorough and Gillian were both productive and professional in their manner. I do feel the Directors should consider much lower fees when renewing Rental Agreements for a new Tenant, where a Landlord has already been paying monthly Management Fees without having to be asked or negotiated down. Disappointing.

Failed on basic customer service - would not recommend

I used Miles&Barr Ramsgate to sell my property and pretty soon wished I hadn’t. Given the state of the housing market, I did not expect them to generate a whole load of viewings and offers but I did expect basic customer service. Instead: - the promised fortnightly update calls from my sales contact did not happen - they called twice in 7 months - several viewings were booked without me knowing - I was sent details of viewings that had dates in the past or that clashed with each other - when offers were made, I had to chase for updates - emails were routinely ignored So I gave notice to terminate our agreement. They were then very proactive, immediately sending me a reminder of my financial and legal commitments under the agreement. Oh for such responsiveness during the previous 7 months! I had to wait 28 days for the notice period to run out, during which time the customer service deteriorated even further: no updates, no feedback from 3 of 4 viewings. One of the viewings did result in a genuine offer and I was encouraged that the lack of communication was not just reserved for me, the solicitors too were kept in the dark, generating unnecessary pressure for them on the exchange and completion process. I write this review because I think the team at Miles&Barr will just record this as a successful sale and they will have learnt nothing. Future customers will be given the same treatment. I was left with a feeling that they simply did not care and were not interested in improving the way they do business or protecting the Miles&Barr brand. Whilst I was looking for alternatives, I spoke to Footprints. They are doing things differently, they have the experience of Christian Miles (who must have left Miles&Barr) and a team who are self-employed and are putting the customer first. They would be first on my list to sell my house.

Brilliant experience from start to finish

I recently purchased a house which was being sold by Miles & Barr. From start to finish they were excellent - professional, warm, friendly, helpful. I would especially credit the wonderful Nadine, without whom I honestly don't think the entire thing would have gone through (at least not in the timeline we wanted!!). She was so kind, empathetic and patient throughout, giving my helpful advice and encouragement, and keeping everyone informed, pushing where needed to get things moving, and generally being wonderful. This isn't the experience I've had with a lot of other estate agents, and I cannot thank Nadine and the team enough. I will not hesitate to use them in the future, and recommend them to anyone looking to sell/rent their home!
