I purchased a new-build property from Bovis Homes / Vistry and have generally tried to be patient with various snagging and maintenance issues over the past few years. However, I was very disappointed with the response regarding a premature failure of the bifold door hinge system.

Bovis sold me a home that was built in 2016 in a place called SHorelands in Bude. It is now Sept 2022 and they still have NOT done the road surface. They also charged maintenance fees which are not due till the whole build at Shorelands is completed and wont refund the cash. I will never be buying a house from them again or one on a development they built.Its now Feb 2023 and still no refund from Bovis!!!! But they have at last surfaced the road outside the house along the culdesac and it has only taken them EIGHT years to do it after taking the money for the sale!!!!!!

They are cow boy company. They build houses with cheap poor material and charge a lot of money for them. We bought a house 7 years ago from them, new, and the issues are just piling, one after another.Incorrectly installed drain pipes, our toilets are continually blocked, incorrectly installed overflows, our roof is leaking damaging the ceiling in the bathroom and one bedroom. The sockets are randomly positioned, there is no level. There was no level in the toilet, the toilet was leaning to the side, the windows although advertised as breathable, do not breath at all, condensation is so huge, that we have water coming down on the window sills and on the floors every morning, the sink downstairs was installed cracked, the walls lack level and the walls were painted with cheap paint, which started chipping after half a year. I could just go on.Customer service is horrible, nobody wants to help and they just sends you round in circles from one person to another. They do not want to do any fixes, the warantly for the house is 10 years, we have been here 7 and they do not want to admit they are responsible for poor workmanship, rubbish management and awful materials used. Never buy a house from them They charge so much for so little they give.

GoogleThere is a stigma with new builds. However we have had a fantastic experience with Bovis Homes at Harfleet Gardens. The 2 sales advisors are simply amazing at what they do and looked after us throughout the buying process. The site manager is also fantastic and is always on hand to answer any queries and has dealt with our snags so quickly. We would absolutely buy another Bovis home in a heartbeat. Thank you Bovis!

We had a fantastic experience with Bovis home at Edwalton fields in Nottingham.Especially Kelly Rudkin from sales team, she is absolutely amazing sales person. She gave a lot of information regarding my enquiry even something is not related to the house, it is my first time to buy a house in this country, she did help me gone though this complicated process with patience and explained all the things.Now we had moved into this lovely house, to be honest, there are some small details part it need to fix it, but the site manager and the technician Mark, Billy and Jim they are all helping me to solve all the problems.I read a many reviews in here regarding the bad service of Bovis home, I don’t feel in this way and quite a opposite that I am glad I bought a house in here from them, such a nice team.

Sorry I can’t give a zero. This is from a subcontractors point of view not about their allegedly shoddy homes. Was asked to come in for an emergency as they were without a telehandler and desperately needed one to help their project proceed. Dropped everything (including the work I was doing) to help as they were offering a very generous amount for the day. Rushed across the county and arrived as soon as I could. Checked with site management what the agreed rate was and got on with the job in hand. Workers were happy manager was happy and I was happy as I’d made some money. Then a week later I get a phone call. They decided that they’re not going to pay. So there’s me a days wages lost and the cost of driving across county. I think it shows the company in a true light. If they are willing to stamp on the little man I’m sure they’re willing to sell you a substandard home.

We had a really wonderful experience with the entire Bovis Team at Whitehouse Park, Milton Keynes.Everyone from the Sales team - Wendy, Jo, Dennis & Mark were really helpful and accommodating. Special thanks to Wendy, who always had answers to all of our questions and regularly updated us with the progress of our house. It was a very smooth and stress free experience with Bovis Sales Team.After moving in, we were lucky to have an outstanding on-site team - Dave & team. Special thanks to Dave, who was extremely helpful and quickly answerd and addressed all our queries and initial concerns. Having Dave as the site manager really made our settling in period stress free!A special mention to Nicola Sanders who was available for any assistance and ensured we had a smooth journey. Haslington developmentUnfortunately we can completely agree with the other reviews on trust pilot. The company are focused Purley on selling. There is no customer service you are not made to feel welcome by sale staff. They answered questions mechanically and abruptly. They will not try to meet any individual requirements be that for disabled people or for individual health and safety reasons. Their out look is, it is what you see. No changes or adaptions can be made and they will happily put a property price up £20000 even if you were talking to them about the property at the lower price. harsh and uncompromising. It is all about the commission and selling. There really don't care. The Web site says the sales office is closed on a Monday!!!!! This is not true abd they are still seeing people and selling houses on a Monday so we missed out on a plot we were interested in because of this. No apology was given!!! Advice, Stay away there are much nicer and more ethically driven builders out there. We were only sorry we didn't read trustpilot before wasting as much time as we did with them.

WARNING, UNSCRUPULOUS BUILDING COMPANY AT LARGE!!This is a warning to all prospective Bovis customers.Make sure you exchange contracts by the given date otherwise they will dump you!!!We have had 4 stressful months of dealing with Bovis. The sales team particularly Michelle Rayner and Angie Strang are incomprehensibly objurate and lack any iota of customer service or goodwill! We have had trouble with communications both with Bovis and Foot Anstey. Our mortgage company’s mortgage department have been down with Covid. All of this had no effect on this uncaring shambles of a company called Bovis.We were ready to commence the exchange of contracts 16 hours after the due date but they refused to exchange with us and are to remarket our plot!!!Is this really the way in this day and age to treat people. Do they care about anyone on Pebble Beach or any other of their developments?Definitely not we would say.Beware if you are in the process of purchasing from them. They are a nightmare.In a normal market, they would not be able to treat people so shoddily.FINAL WARNING-BEWARE!!

We were understandably very wary about buying a new Bovis/Vistry home, having read some of the reviews.Our ‘Linden’ home in Shrewsbury is excellent in every way.We have no complaints whatsoever - from initial enquiry, through the sales/completion process and eventually moving in at the end of June.Everyone has been first class.Very few snagging issues and those that were discovered were rectified promptly.Maybe we dropped lucky…. but Kerry and the sales team, and Ben and Pete (site management) are all a credit to the industry.

Our experiences with Bovis so far have been great (and happily nothing like in a lot of these reviews!). We bought off-plan in 2020 and were pleasantly surprised with how painless the process was. Sales reps were friendly, communication was good, and the paperwork was all completed in a timely manner. We were encouraged to look around the property as it was being built and all our questions were answered. We were also offered a great service in terms of choosing options for the kitchen/bathrooms etc.After we moved in we were encouraged to report any snags (and we paid for an independent snagging survey ourselves to make sure we didn’t miss anything). There were a few minor problems such as a hole in the wall behind a radiator, doors not closing properly etc. Which were all dealt with promptly when flagged. We had a major issue with a leaking boiler, but when we spoke to the office someone came to look on the same day.We were a little hesitant to buy at first after reading about all the horror stories, but can honestly say that we’ve had a great experience with Bovis almost a year down the line. All the sales reps we’ve come into contact with have been friendly and helpful and any problems have been dealt with to our satisfaction. We also absolutely love our new home and are really happy with it so far.

A recent experience in East Hanney, Oxfordshire on their Silk Mill development confirms what the majority of reviews suggest on here. Their arrogance to the point of being rude was clearly demonstrated by two of their sales team, Mark & Paula who are clearly in the wrong job! They really couldn’t be bothered to leave their Shrivenham located office to attend a viewing and even when one of them did she was about as helpful as a bucket full of holes! If that is the kind of pre sales service that one can obtain then what would the after sales be like? We have owned two Bovis Homes previously and are shocked at how this company has lost the plot! Customer service is non existent and even their Sales Manager George has no idea of what is really happening! Best avoid Bovis alias Vistry altogether!PS the day that we attended the Police were there investigating a Burglary! If you are thinking of buying here or Bovis anywhere then think again!

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Were keen to charge me reservation fee and a week later called to say transaction needs to be completed within 6 weeks. That was impossible given I was in a chain and due to stamp duty holiday, banks were overworked. And even before the 6 weeks were over, they decided to cancel the booking without any notice. It cost me £450 in evaluation fee and 6 months in, I am still waiting for my reservation fee refund. Keep telling me it will be refunded on the day when I call.
