I feel that the experience was negative

I put my flat up for sale with my Foxtons, I was going to go with another agent but they were very pushy and said how they managed to sell better than anyone so I went with them. I was under the impression my flat would go straight up but after I signed the contract it took them 2 weeks to take photos and put them up, in the meantime they put up a video of the flat from a mid-term inspection where it looked absolutely disgusting. I had never seen this video and I don't see why it would be allowed to be put up without my permission, I asked for it to be removed, they didn't and it took them nearly the 2 weeks to remove it. The photos they took were adequate but not particularly great, I was pretty disappointed. I felt that the price was extremely over inflated (like all their prices) but respected they knew better than me, but when every single person gave feedback that it was way overpriced and no one showed any interest I became quite embarrassed. I found it very hard to contact my sales agent and just gave up most times after leaving numerous messages. I heard from my agent 10 times more before I signed with them than I did during my contract. When I gave notice 28 days before the end after having no interest, I was reminded how they are the number one and warned that going to another agent would not solve the issue. Their commission is so much more than everyone else but I feel my experience with their sales agent was extremely poor and I can't believe I had no interest in my nice flat. I feel I made a mistake going with them and would caution anyone thinking of them. Also I rented my flat with them for nearly 2 decades and my last tenant emailed them notice which they said they did not receive until the next day so they extended the end date to one day beyond the end of the month, they then charged me a management fee of £9 for the one day (and she paid £1 something rent for that one day). I will never rent with them again due to the complete lack of transparency with regards to money. (As for the excuse that the housing market is quiet I put my other property up for sale at the same time and it sold within 2 weeks, but then again the photos were really good and the price was reasonable).

I would highly recommend the South Kensington branch of Foxtons. Ian and his team are dedicated to help you sell your property and pull out all the stops to get you where you need to be. Communication is flawless and the service is professional and slick. In a world where service from estate agents can be rather mixed, Ian is a definite cut above the rest - and can sometimes pull a miracle out of the bag!

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons. We were left without proper cooking facilities for 25 days, which had a major impact on our daily life and forced us to spend extra money on food. A functioning cooker is a basic part of any home, yet this was not handled with the urgency it deserved.

Never use Foxton again! I had the worst renting experience with them after 13 years of renting. They are a bunch of unprofessional agents who are pushy and very unresponsive. Once I moved in, I found the flat in a miserable situation, full of mould, the flat was in a very unhygienic state, they didn't do professional cleaning. I had to paint bathroom and get bathroom to a human useable state. Regarding the contract, they will not provide any early termination clause in the contract and lock you in. I found the flat was over priced and wanted to exit after first month, but found out that there is no early termination clause. They don't send you a copy of signed contract. They keep the contract on their portal and I have realized the y changed the Early termination clause after my emails regarding that I want to leave before 1-year. Really rubbish agency, will not recommend them at all.

Outrageous and awful management service

As a landlord (don't hate me!) paying for a managed service, they tried to charge me £90 + vat to fix a meter door with two cable ties. This is typical, and I have to chase them repeatedly for everything. My tenants and I deserve better.
