James Young is an actual lifesaver. From the moment I met him I knew he was the one for the job in finding me the perfect flat after having frustrating experiences with previous agents from other firms. His energy, enthusiasm and efficiency was greatly appreciated as I needed to move quickly - and he made himself available morning/noon/night to tend to any questions that I had or challenges that arose in the process as moving overseas can be quite challenging. His professionalism, savvy and gem of a personality made the entire process 100% easier and I'm so grateful to him. I would highly recommend working with James for all of your upcoming rental needs.

Foxtons wrongly extended our tenancy…

Foxtons wrongly extended our tenancy end date then withheld our deposit on non payment of rent grounds. Even after acknowledging their 'error' it took 2 months for them to correct it. The money was only returned after a letter before action for a small claims court was sent. Other customers are advised to exercise extreme caution with how deposits are safeguarded.

Priorities are wrong

Foxtons can't seem to answer simple enquiries about a property - for example "how long is the leasehold" or "what are the service charges". Instead their focus is on gaining as much information about the person inquiring as possible. Ie they have more interest in adding to a dataset of potential buyers and marketing themselves than in answering a simple enquiry. I certainly wouldn't sell with them given how they prioritise themselves over the sellers interests..... of course all this is in the guise of "customer service" but it's not really is it? It's blatant marketing and self promotion.

nightmare agents

nightmare agents. do yourself a favour and use a different one. these are the guys who give estates agents their bad name. its been almost 2 months since i completed and they still havent given me the full set of keys or removed furniture as promised. i dealt with jordan at the temple fortune branch and every day he has a new excuse. they dont respond to messages or phone calls and provide a truly awful service. there are plenty of other good agents around who provide a much better service.

Our experience with Foxtons Sloane Square has been an absolute disaster. From the very start of renting the property, through the chaotic move-out process, and even after vacating, we were consistently misled, uninformed, and outright ignored. Communication was horrendous. Harriet, in particular, ignored us for days, and when we finally spoke on the phone, she had raised her voice at me, while trying to argue her point, which was completely unacceptable. We were promised updates on the return of the funds we are owed, yet our inquiries were repeatedly met with silence. The Foxtons portal provided vague, meaningless updates that offered no real information. The move-out process was a mess. We were shuffled between different agents, none of whom seemed to know basic details about the property. On the day before we moved out, we were told someone would inspect the flat before the new tenants moved in. No one showed up, and our calls were ignored. Our move-in experience was just as frustrating. It seems the team at Foxtons only becomes responsive when they need money from you. After that, you're left in the dark. I strongly advise against using Foxtons. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and general disregard for their clients’ concerns make them incredibly difficult to deal with. There are much better estate agencies out there and it's been proven to me that renting really doesn't need to be such a painful experience.

Landlords don’t be fooled by the nice offices and friendly staff. They are ruthless. They take 13 percent + VAT for rent collection only and lock you in for 5 years. It’s not the tenants we need protecting from. It’s the ruthless agents.

I called 3 times and sent two emails confirming the flat I wanted to view- even confirming the day before. It took almost 2 weeks to get a viewing and when I did, Raxma took me to the wrong flat. In the completely wrong area. Which also happened to be nothing like what my requirements were. Her colleague Giuseppe is not better- he will call and hang up after three rings. Does not leave a message. When you call him back it will be 20 minutes of him scolding you for not picking up as he is very busy. Quite rude and talked over me the entire time I was on the phone. Why is is so hard to find a letting agent who actually does their job? If I were a selling or a landlord, I wouldn’t use Foxtons because their personnel don’t treat their customers with respect.
