I got in touch with Harriet whilst I was still in Australia and she took my details and said she'd get in touch once I'd landed. Many agents at other agencies said they would do this, but Harriet was the only one who kept her word. We went out and looked at a range of options in the area I was interested in, and once I'd found the perfect flat for me, Harriet helped me with all the paperwork and processes and helped me meet the landlord which was great. This was especially appreciated as I'm new to living in the UK and don't have a history or experience here. All went well and I'm very grateful for getting so quickly set up in my new flat. Harriet was lovely to deal with throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for help in the area. Thank you Harriet and the team at Notting Hill Gate.

My partner and I were searching for some last minute long-term accommodation as a number of our previous offers for flats fell through. After contacting Foxtons, I was helped by Ben, who was a great help. While we ended up finding an alternate place to live, Ben was constantly contacting me with new places to look at. He also was great with conducting video walkthroughs with me as I was abroad for most of my search. I can confidently recommend Ben, he was awesome!

Landlords don’t be fooled by the nice offices and friendly staff. They are ruthless. They take 13 percent + VAT for rent collection only and lock you in for 5 years. It’s not the tenants we need protecting from. It’s the ruthless agents.

I had the pleasure to be helped by Harriet Murphy, at Foxtons, and I have nothing but great things to say. The calls were very friendly yet to the point, and ensured that prior to the viewings I knew exactly what had to be done in order to maximise our time. The viewings themselves were also very pleasant. Harriet knew a lot about each property, and managed to show me other great properties that matched my interest. The viewings were well planned, and thus quick, while not lacking a personal touch. The pro's and cons of each property were openly discussed which really helped to find my priorities when it comes to housing. All in all, nothing but great things to say. They provided an excellent service. Our short term letting agent, Ben Whittle, was amazing. He answered all our communications politely and promptly (massive thing when looking for a new abode). He spent the right amount of time getting to know us and what our needs and expectations were. Additionally, his patience in ferrying us around to various properties was great. Plus Foxtons give you a free bottle of water for every office :) Jokes aside Ben was awesome and a great ambassador for the Foxtons' brand.

Terrible experience

Non-existent communication. Viewings done by an unprepared team: didn't know level of service charge, exposure, if the appliances were new or not, size of the flat or rooms. One claimed we had replaced the kitchen (we hadn't), another that the Hue Lights we installed were staying in the flat for the buyer (we never said that).

I dealt with Danielle Toland of the Foxtons Notting Hill branch in procuring a tenant for a flat in Holland Park. I cannot say enough about her effort and the manner in which she pursued her task. She was communicative and clear in all her dealings with me. She presented only well screened prospective tenants and in a market full of similar properties was able to still get me offers at the asking price she had suggested we market the property at. Through several stumbling blocks she was entirely efficient and did not once lead me on or pressurise me to compromise. It took three prospective offers before we were able to secure a tenancy and from start to finish Danielle was not only thorough and willing but also entirely understanding and best of all, in full good humour. Danielle Toland comes with my full endorsement, a professional who is a pleasure to deal with.

Great Experience letting out flat as Landlord. Karan Kumar was my negotiator at Foxtons Notting Hill and his work was exemplary. Always available on the other end of the phone, efficient, professional and well mannered. At all times I felt he did his hardest to strike a good deal for myself and the tenant. Property let out within 7 days. Fantastic! Neil Cunningham, the Lettings Manager/ Operational Director, is second to none. The whole team at Foxtons Notting Hill are the best in the business period. I have been with them for over a decade now and can only recommend.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Very disappointed. I found a short let property on their portal myself, the agent (Amir Abbasian) kept suggesting either awful properties, or ones over my budget. They were very quick to call back and close the deal but once the deal was made, I never once was able to speak directly to my agent Olivia Taylor, or anyone from Foxtons again. Repeated messages and email queries went unanswered. Every two weeks a new person would be in touch and all my queries would be ignored. The property was nice and in good condition but i paid Foxtons 350 pounds for the end of tenancy clean, and was slapped with a 600 pound cleaning claim on my deposit. The property was never cleaned and my landlord claimed the charges from my deposit. at least a dozen emails later, I still don't have a protection document number for my deposit. I was told my deposit was protected. I ws told I would be provided an inventory upon moving in. I was told the place would be cleaned at the end of my tenancy, for which i paid. None of the above happened. Still waiting for part of my deposit to be returned, even though they said it was transferred three weeks ago and should take 5 to 7 days to be credited. I've settled the dispute with my landlord now, even though it is extortion, but it seems even he was being cheated by Foxtons.

As an active listener, she has been a real pleasure to discuss with. The renting process has been smooth and clear. I highly recommend Foxtons for its professionalism, responsiveness and client experience. 👍🏼" Indeed, the process was clear and the team was responsive. But when it came to moving out the entire communication and process became very chaotic. The point of contact kept changing, it took them almost 1 year to send our deposit back (even though we claimed for it within the requested laps time), they didn't check on the property after the cleaner came , which cost us an extra 375£ of cleaning services. (we had to give the keys back before the cleaner arrived so we couldn't do it ourselves). In short FOLLOW UP WITH THEM AND CHASE THEM or you will have to pay for their lack of professionalism.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

The property management team has been continuously ignorant of any issues raised (which there have been plenty), not to mention the lack of care taken towards the apartment in the first place. There were maintenance issues apparent when we arrived, and we made the property manager aware of them. In addition, a previously cracked window had completely shattered and no one gave any attention to this. A broken window on glass carpet, not to mention in the dead of winter, and the property managers did not even bother to tell the landlord herself. After two months, we still had not received a response, to any email, phone call, posting, etc. Now, almost at the end of the lease, more serious issues have come up and no surprise: NO ACTION. This team is unprofessional, inconsiderate, and completely off the grid. I would highly suggest staying away from this business if possible. Save yourself the headache!

When I started my flat search a few weeks ago, I was so convinced that Foxtons Notting Hill was going to be THE one helping me based on how beautiful their website is, the great first impression they give, etc. To my HUGE surprise, the agent that got my enquiries, was never available, very dry, unhelpful, and even defensive in his answers, when there were answers which was basically 2/10 times, to the point that I gave up and moved on to find another real estate agency in the neighborhood. To add to the lack of interest, proactivity, or even reactivity as it has been like trying to work with a cactus, don't trust what you see on the website... the postings look beautiful but reality is VERY different, and most of the times they don't put down flats that were let weeks ago, so it's a waste of time for everyone. Overall, I'm sad to say that this office or better said this agent, jorge balcalceres, has been very disappointing, completely uninterested in interacting, giving a good service, or at least answer. Whether you are looking for your new home in person or from abroad, you need some support, good customer service, and, at least, good manners. Maybe, Foxtons as a company don't give them commissions, hence the disengagement? Every other agency is superbusy too and yet they do a great job. I really hope my next experience with another agent will be different, so I can update this review.

I feel that the experience was negative

I put my flat up for sale with my Foxtons, I was going to go with another agent but they were very pushy and said how they managed to sell better than anyone so I went with them. I was under the impression my flat would go straight up but after I signed the contract it took them 2 weeks to take photos and put them up, in the meantime they put up a video of the flat from a mid-term inspection where it looked absolutely disgusting. I had never seen this video and I don't see why it would be allowed to be put up without my permission, I asked for it to be removed, they didn't and it took them nearly the 2 weeks to remove it. The photos they took were adequate but not particularly great, I was pretty disappointed. I felt that the price was extremely over inflated (like all their prices) but respected they knew better than me, but when every single person gave feedback that it was way overpriced and no one showed any interest I became quite embarrassed. I found it very hard to contact my sales agent and just gave up most times after leaving numerous messages. I heard from my agent 10 times more before I signed with them than I did during my contract. When I gave notice 28 days before the end after having no interest, I was reminded how they are the number one and warned that going to another agent would not solve the issue. Their commission is so much more than everyone else but I feel my experience with their sales agent was extremely poor and I can't believe I had no interest in my nice flat. I feel I made a mistake going with them and would caution anyone thinking of them. Also I rented my flat with them for nearly 2 decades and my last tenant emailed them notice which they said they did not receive until the next day so they extended the end date to one day beyond the end of the month, they then charged me a management fee of £9 for the one day (and she paid £1 something rent for that one day). I will never rent with them again due to the complete lack of transparency with regards to money. (As for the excuse that the housing market is quiet I put my other property up for sale at the same time and it sold within 2 weeks, but then again the photos were really good and the price was reasonable).

Do not rent through Foxtons

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.
