Awful agency with zero regard for tenants privacy, rights, or common courtesy. Extremely negative experience with them. Avoid at all costs. I would never consider them to purchase a house after their complete disregard for customer service to tenants.

GoogleI have recently rented out my 3-bedroom flat in South Kensington using Chestertons. I dealt with someone called Jonathan James. He was unbelievably helpful and professional throughout. He even took some of his personal time between Xmas and New Year, when the office was closed, to visit the flat and give access to, and oversee, professionals preparing the flat for the new tenant. Very bad experience with this agency. They promise the moon, but once you've signed with them is it the complete opposite, and they'll simply ignore you when you need them.

Don’t go with Chestertons or you’ll regret it. 4 renegotiations, to be told a week before I move for work purposes it’s not worked out. Horrible service, pressure sales, texts at 1am. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

I wanted to submit offer for a property, however the agent over the phone told me to put offer with other agency! I am not sure why agents need to be so arrogant with buyers this days!!
Unfortunately The Property Ombudsman Code of Practice specifies that agents ask clients to go back to the original estate agent to make their offer through them, providing it is within the first 6 months after the first agent was withdrawn from the property. Had we have taken your offer, the owner could have been liable for paying two fees, which may well have meant he not wish to sell to you. The advice given was provided in the aim of increasing your chances of success with this property. If you are interested in any other properties through us, we will gladly put forward any offers you make.
