They seem to be addicted to the phone

They seem to be addicted to the phone. I’ve emailed twice and some pillock just keeps ringing me. Just reply to the damn email. Get these estate agent off their phones. It may be their job to natter endlessly loving the sound of their own voice but the rest of us have jobs also and need to keep them and can’t be speaking every five minutes of every day. Painful experience.

Hello everybody

Hello everybody, please please please don’t rent out your house with Chestertons because you’re never get back your deposit taking away from you and try to not give it back to you. I have wait for my deposit now two months and nothing. They don’t want to give me back all of the deposit putting on me lots of damage. My house was in very very good condition and they only keep you waiting for your own money, so please listen to me don’t give them to rent out your flat and there is one person who promising every day she gonna call Bart she don’t do that her name is shruthi I never in my life have seen such a liar. There are please please please don’t rent out your flat with them.

Henry Malone was our first point of contact, he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Then Sarah Heavens-Lang took over and she found us a buyer. Our flat was a complex sale, but Sarah was professional, loyal and empathetic. Even when she was furloughed we kept in touch. She was amazing. Amy Reynolds then took over the final part of the sale due to COVID-19, and despite all of the complications the flat was sold. Chestertons is poor agent ever!

Updated 1/19: So far Chestertons no update response here and we didn’t get reach from their team. According to the legal advice that after landlord/letting agents serve Section 21, tenancy have right to move out any time without requiring further notice of that. I am doubt about Chestertons is professional letting agents which should aware the legal process, but what reason they could stand with landlord to insist we hv to provide 2 months notice and holding our deposit refuse to refund? What is their professionalism?Highly not recommend Chestertons, they did nothing to help on tenant as they only stand as landlord’s point of view. Delay of responding email and call, one of bedroom of our apartment out of heating for over 6 months still pending for repair until council step in; since landlord assigned the technician visited to repair other items but just reviewed twice without start any actual work for repair and they think that is good enough but didn’t solve no heating problem, so silly funny! Seem like they don’t aware what is urgency especially heating is basic supply which landlord hv to provide and repair immediately.Other repair situation always delayed for few weeks as normal, we have to push again and again, or they assigned the workers come without communicate the time and schedule in advance. One of the case was we were out of apartment, wile they/landlord assigned the workers came for repair works and they called several time to persuade us allow the worker use backup key to kick start the work without our present, definitely we refused of it.Chesterton acted as agent but seem like they did nothing to help for tenant. They just like act as communication hub but they don’t have any procedures to do what if any situation happen or landlord didn’t response.The landlord served us section 21 as we think that is kind of revenge eviction; we tried to negotiate the move out date to extend one month to End of Nov due to estate management is renewing the lift until end of Oct which is the move out date landlord requested, but they just simply ignore and not positively to negotiate of it. And Chesterton and landlord didn’t care you move out the property with those big boxes and furnitures without lift support. They don’t care about what difficult you are facing without lift, and they said that should be fine to use the stairway for move in or move out. Therefore, we exercise our right to stay and find the new property to rent at the same time after we consult council’s and legal advice. So ridiculous was one of lady from Chestertons Letting or Sales dept. called us and asked a silly question impolitely why we don’t move out as their requested as she have client ready to move in, in fact we already emailed to their management team in advance of our decision before, obviously their internal didn’t communicate at all. It’s really ridiculous that she also roughly asked why we complaint the apartment condition but keep staying in the property why not just move out. This is really not professional for such kind of blame from the Chestertons sales. We wrote another email and called the property management team for such situation and formally request that no calling for disturb from this lady again. But she kept calling every 2-3 days for 2-3 weeks which is insane.Finally, we informed the Chesterton one month in advance that we are moving our end of Dec, they send us some normal mail few times without any concern of move out date until 18 days later that they requested we hv to provide 2 months notice as original contract because of landlord’s feedback; yes, they took 18 days (over 2 weeks) to say about objection of move out date, so ridiculous. While we signed the new contract with new agent/landlord after issue move out notice to Chesterton as their first reply without any objection of move out date. Right now they still insist the contract will keep until Jan. Believed Chesterton/landlord may try to deduct our deposit for that, but definitely we will fight for our interest.Again, no Chesterton if you are tenant! What a rubbish company ever! We spent a lot of time every month to deal with this unprofessional agency company during the last 14 months.Updated: I don’t know why trustpilot or Chestertons hv the right to force me provide further contact information for follow up!( As trust pilot threaten to remove the post if I don’t response, how come?) I am already using the real name (as I deal with Chesterton), Chestertons should be easy to check out the situation. But honestly I don’t think they care the reputation.

Very very happy

Firstly the company; I called in between Christmas and New year when most companies are dead to the world, however Chestersons had someone manning the phones to at least take a message and get it allocated to the right person for their attention as soon as they came back from holiday. Which put us in touch with Delphine who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and efficient in dealing with our rental search. My wife and I were very pleased with everything she did for us.
