Luke will go a long way

Luke is a lovely young man, very knowledgeable and came prepared with a couple of issues to the property with certificates, quotes and also answered every question. There was no sense of urgency to rush the viewing. It would be great if all agents were like Luke.

Dealing with Chancellors and specifically Olivia Brown has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had. The complete lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism has made trying to work with them a nightmare. Despite repeated emails and follow-ups regarding scaffolding that was installed on my balcony without prior communication or consent due to some works on a different flat, Olivia and her team have offered nothing but silence and excuses. Promised deadlines have come and gone with zero updates, leaving me and other affected parties in limbo for months. Olivia’s role as a “Senior Property Manager” seems to be in name only, as her response times and handling of issues are abysmal. Even after escalating the matter and expressing the significant inconvenience caused, the response has been dismissive at best. It’s clear that Chancellors has no regard for their clients’ concerns or the basic principles of collaboration and communication. I would strongly advise anyone to steer clear of Chancellors for property management. Olivia Brown’s ineffectiveness and the company’s apparent lack of oversight have cost me time, energy, and trust. Save yourself the headache and choose a company that actually values its propery management business.

The team at Chancellors Notting Hill, led by Alexander who got us past the finish line and including Molly and Briar, supported us through the process to exchange for our first home with professionalism and dedicated effort. They remained available and in touch, prompt in their response and fulfilled their role as intermediary representing the seller by accurately and concisely liaising between us to foster mutual understanding and help facilitate the final outcome. I didn't want to write a negative review, but after our experience with Chancellors I feel I have to... if it saves even one person from going through what we have, it's worth it. We rented a flat through Chancellors and they have been managing the property since move-in. From day one it was clear they had not done proper due diligence before handing over the keys - there was a saw left in the flat, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned out, and renovation materials were still on the premises... It's gotten so much worse from there. Our property manager has been incredibly difficult to work with. Getting any response or support has been an uphill battle - we have had to chase daily, sometimes multiple times a day, just to receive a reply. Emails go unanswered, issues go unresolved, and when we do hear back the responses deflect rather than help. If you are considering renting through Chancellors, I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other agencies out there who will actually treat you with basic respect and responsiveness.

My experience with Chancellors - Notting Hill Estate Agents and especially the agent Jordan Law has been impeccable. He has been extremely competent and responsive from day 1, helping me chose the best property for my necessities. He accompanied me during every step from the first online viewing until handing the keys ( was my first time renting a property in London), answering to my every question and offering more information than I thought I needed. He was great at liaising between the landlord and I, solving all issues instantly and making the experience extremely smooth. The worst experience I have had with an agency and agent, Will Jones. His emails are littered with typos and the rest of it sounds like poorly written AI. The agency also can't do basic maths. They make up numbers with no evidence, asking for more rent despite providing bank statements that rent was paid in full and on time. The emails run in circles, asking for more money, and when asked where the outstanding rent comes from, they just follow up with the same poorly written email asking for money with no evidence or reason for such. Do not work with Will or Chancellors.

The frustrating experience of dealing with a tenant who hadn’t paid rent for 4 months and an accounting team who hadn’t chased the debt, contacted the guarantor or provided an account statement during the period. I was most frustrated when calling the area office. However, Rebecca answered my call and listened to my issues, heard my frustration and took the time to agree a course of action. Not only did she accurately outline the situation, advise what steps she would take to gather the information and committed to contacting me with updates. To be called back with an update was most refreshing and unusual having previously left more than 5 messages for a manager and not receiving a call back.
