I rent out a property through Savills and their garden management of garden maintenance is abysmal. The garden is only really a courtyard garden , mainly paved, but getting Savills to schedule in gardeners to come and carry out pruning /weeding of a couple of climbers in the growing season is a nightmare. They seem unable to operate a diary prompt service to get people in once a month in the growing season ie April to November. Am constantly having to prompt them, often when the space has become overrun and is costly to bring back into a manageable space. Don't have Savills manage your garden maintenance. If you can , do it yourself.NegativeResponsiveness

Our contact with David Gwinnutt at Savills started a couple of years ago - buying and selling turns out to be a slow process. In helping our search for a suitable property he was always thoughtful and empathetic, and when Savills absorbed Currells we naturally followed him. Shortly thereafter we put our house on the market with David, when he encouraged us in providing marketing input. He was joined by Savill's team who work as an effective unit: Libbi Hattersley, Sarah Curtis and Gracie Loveday, all of whom proved to be sympathetic and proactive in what has proved (as they frequently are) a complex and challenging tale. We have always felt well-supported throughout, in contrast to other agents we have unfortunately had to deal with. If you want a thoughtful, trustworthy and committed Islington agent, we would strongly encourage talking to Savills.

If you are landlord with a property in the King’s Cross / Islington area, avoid working with the Savills Islington branch if possible. We had a bad experience with them. After letting our property with them for almost two years, not only did we not get better contractual terms, but the quality of service we received deteriorated. To cut a long story short, they even damaged our property (we had ample evidence that a coffee stain was made on one of our freshly painted walls during a Savills viewing -picture attached-). Not only did they fail to take responsibility for that, but they prevaricated for over a week, pointing fingers to other potential culprits, and thus costing us more than a week of viewings. Even though they eventually got it fixed through one of their contracts, they never acknowledged the tax that it was their mistake. After that, they supposedly came up with a rental offer by a student at the asking price (even though we had explicitly told them that we were targeting professionals as tenants), which was magically withdrawn the following day. In the end, they urged to go with another agency, costing us valuable time and money. We have launched an official complaint procedure and still haven’t heard anything back. Their level of professionalism is regrettably low and belies their effectiveness in finding tenants. We will be taking further actions with the Property Ombudsman.
