I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward (KFH) left me no choice. I started renting through them in September 2023. Initially, the agent was helpful, and I had high hopes for their property management.

So, I’ve hesitated to review as overall the sales people seemed good and committed and my property sold quite quickly for not too far below asking. However, there were some mistakes along the way I should mention. The sales team told me that, strangely and very unusually, they had had hardly any response from the internet launch and all the views they conducted were clients they already had. That made me feel bad. Then, once the property was under offer the local council queried the fact that the estate agents had advertised the flat as ground floor instead of first floor. This would have put buyers off, it being an ex council properly on an urban estate. Also as a ground floor you might expect a garden or terrace which it did not have. Would I have achieved asking if they hadn’t been so careless? I don’t know. The other strange thing was that when the offer was made the agent phoned saying he had “very good news”. But it was a £24,000 below asking! Good news? The same people later bought the flat for £7,000 below asking so I’m glad I didn’t take his advice to accept the first “good news” offer.

They told me on the day I collected my keys that the toilet was broken (which they knew about the week before) and suggested "maybe there's a local gym or something I could use in the meantime". There was a ton of issues I had to raise when moving in, they were already aware of the majority of them, yet were incredibly slow at getting them resolved. It took 6 weeks to get my mailbox fixed (no access to post until then) and 7 weeks to fix my shower. Other issues remain outstanding. Communication is generally very poor, lack of urgency and the property manager is very blasé about dealing with tenant issues, regardless of how much they inconvenience you. Avoid if possible.

I was amazed by how good our experience was working with Jayden Salih and James Ripp from the KFH Islington team. We had a very tricky leasehold sale with all sorts of complexities involved, but they guided as through it and were fantastic from start to finish. They were incredibly efficient and prompt with all their communications, were always available to speak to on the phone, helped with every query we had, and most importantly they kept their promises at every step of the way. They were highly professional in every respect and it really felt like they were working in partnership with us and had our best interests at heart. I can't recommend them highly enough. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Lucas to get my mortgage application submitted. He was very attentive, helpful, thoughtful and thorough throughout the whole process. I felt like i could trust him wholeheartedly and he definitely put my mind at ease after having a recent bad experience with another broker at another company. He took the time to explain and go through all the documents with me, as opposed to just leaving me to my own devices, which as a first time buyer i really appreciated. Cannot recommend Lucas enough!!!

I needed to sell my elderly mother's house in order to pay her care home fees. I chose KFH Wimbledon as they have a strong presence in the area. I was extremely happy with the service I received. From the start and throughout the process all the information and advice I received from Vinay, Linda and Branch Manager, Jimmy was clear and straightforward. Phone calls and emails were answered swiftly. I was lucky that neither I nor the purchasers were in a chain, which meant that the sale went through in less than three months. I would definitely recommend KFH Wimbledon.

I cannot recommend the Ealing branch of Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward highly enough! Martin and Chris were so helpful. The sale was complicated, as it was the result of a sudden death in my family. I do not live in London, but that didn’t matter. They were in touch on a regular basis and we were selling the flat during the cost of living crisis, which made things really difficult. Martin and Chris are an example of how all estate agents should be and proof that not all estate agents are untrustworthy. Thank you.

The service from start to finish from KFH Streatham was amazing. My initial meeting was with Tom, who was reassuring, honest and professional. Which was welcomed after not having the best experience with another estate agent. Tom was supportive and it’s evident he knows what he’s doing and is able to offer realistic advice to sell your property. Special thanks and shout out to Caitlin who sold my property, and progressed the sale through to exchange and completion. She was honestly incredible throughout the whole process, which ended up being a little longer than expected. She is extremely driven and personable, and makes you feel looked after. Throughout the whole process, she communicated effectively, was supportive, direct, and kept everything moving! Buying and selling can be stressful but the team at KFH not only made the whole thing a lot easier, but are also really nice to deal with, and i’m extremely grateful to them. So, if you’re looking for a Streatham based agency, I highly recommend.

I sold my apartment through KFH. It was a really positive experience. I had tenants in the apartment and they worked with them for viewings taking a lot of the stress out of it. Throughout the process, Jayden Salih, our agent was fantastic, he was very good at proactively engaging and where we weren’t getting responses from the buyer’s solicitor he followed up with the buyer to minimise delays. Massive thank you to Jayden for taking a lot of the stress out of the process. Really recommend.
