We recently had some works done which Chesterton arranged and managed. Communication was good and our property manager (Olympia) stayed across the process and remained engaged through to completion. Ok to pay the fees when these things get done properly.

GoogleWe found our new rental home with Chestertons Islington. Our agent Innes Hammell Crowe did an amazing job. I was looking in clerkenwell, barnsbury area and he recommended a house in Finsbury Park that he really believed would be perfect. This wasnt even on our radar, we are so glad he took us to inspect the house. Love the flat, love the area and the easy commute to work. Our onboarding as a client and dealing with the owner was easily facilitated and completed without errors by the whole team at Chestertons. GoogleMy experience with Chestersons has been nothing short of amazing, and the biggest reason for this has been the work of Innes. When U first met him, I explained him my dream flat, the very first property he took me was exactlt what I was looking for. After struggling for two weeks with other agencies, Innes found my dream place on his first shot. He helped me through everything on the process of getting the flat. He even took time for our personal questions and solved any problems we faced even though he didnt have to. We really appriciate his work ethics and him as person. Worst experience in my life. Unreliable and fraudulent. I took a short term let. After signing the contract and paying advance, they ask me for more money in addition, without a receipt. I send total payment in two payments because my bank did not allow me to make such a large transfer. I send both transfer copies in an official document with CRO. One payment arrives, the other one does not by the weekend. They do not give me the keys. My lawyer is getting me a full refund. Never go to scoundrels like them. Be careful.
Hello Marco, we’ve spoken with the short lets department and they’ve explained that the full rent needed to be paid in advance of you moving in, and this was explained to you before signing your contract. On the day of move in you hadn’t transferred half of the money you owed and as such the keys couldn’t be released to you. The money from your bank arrived today and you collected keys.

The estate agent I dealt with was so rude and repeatedly asked if I could afford the flat before even viewing the flat. He assumed I had no knowledge of the current renting market and was very condescending when I told him my price range. When I turned up to my viewing, he dismissed me and didn't introduce the flat at all. I 100% do NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Since Richard Parkin took over there seems a sense of urgency and renewed quotes are now sensible and more favourable to me as the flat owner than previously. Avoid using this company by all means -We lived in a property managed by Chesterton's for a year. In the time we lived with them, we reported issues with the accommodation in the first week of moving into the accommodation, they didn't sort this in the 9 months of us living there. They constantly sent someone out to 'price it up', but never once did someone come to fix anything. Things like not providing keys for the windows to open, bath panels and shower's hanging off the wall. We had 4 different property managers in this time as people kept leaving the company. The guy who came round to look at the property to price up the issues mentioned that the accommodation was that poorly put together that he couldn't believe it. After 9 months of getting tired of nothing being fixed, we decided we had to get out.Once we left, we were assured that we would not receive any cleaning charges if we used their registered cleaners. When handing over the keys, Andrew mentioned that the flat was cleaner than it was before we moved in. After using their cleaners, they still tried to take £160 for a cleaning charge. The individual who has been working on getting our deposit back has been everything but competent, we had to wait 2 months for our deposit to come back. It's gotten that bad that even the property owner has mentioned to us that she will never use Chesterton's again. I would love to leave a 0 star but for some reason that isn't possible.Considering we had nothing fixed in the time that we lived in the accommodation, we thought we'd be able to leave the flat. Instead we had to pay over £600 to leave early.I would avoid using this company at all costs, not only will you have nothing fixed, but they will also try to scam you out of most of your deposit.

GoogleGuy Morgan of Chestertons is acting for the seller of the property I am purchasing. Guy has been pro-active in moving the purchase along - liaising and chasing where necessary the professionals and finding out information for me from the seller. He or one of his colleagues has been able to meet with me at the property on a no of occasions. If Guy has been unavailable other colleagues in the office have been helpful or passed on messages. Although they are not acting for me I am finding Chestertons very reliable

Living abroad, I was delighted to be dealing with a team who was replying to my messages on a daily basis, keeping me up to date constantly. This is invaluable when you're far away and have no view on what's going on. Scott and Guy were just as charming and efficient with me as a seller as with my tenant who had to move out as a result of me selling my property. I strongly recommend this team: positive (who wants to deal with negative people at such a stressful moment??), efficient and straight to the point. My property was sold within 5 weeks and at a price above what was expected. My sincere thanks for your invaluable help, your kindness and your efficiency.

GoogleI have used Chestertons to sell my flat in the heart of Islington after an unsuccessful attempt with another high street agent in spring. Chestertons did a fantastic job, particularly Scott and Alex. They came up with a realistic and achievable price, found buyers within three weeks of launching the property and managed the conveyancing process superbly with exchange of contracts within six weeks after I had accepted the offer. I can thoroughly recommend Chestertons. They live up to their promises and have proven they can deliver, also in challenging times.

GoogleWe have dealt with Chesterton's for the last 10 years, selling, buying and letting. We have had our disagreements but in general we are pleased with the company, they mean well and try to sort out issues to the best of their abilities. We have just sold a house in a difficult market. It took a long time but agents persevered and secured a good buyer. Chesterton's tenants were always excellent people, so I guess if we need to buy or rent again we would not hesitate to give them a chance.

We are renting our flat through Chestertons and the whole experience since we moved in has been shocking. We are constantly ignored when we report issues and have to chase all the time. We have 2 ongoing issues one that was reported 3/4 months ago. We were told that someone called Fiona left and have been dealing with someone new who is even worse. No communication happens internally so when people are on holiday you have to start the process all over again. Would never ever go through Chestertons again
