Chestertons Will Waste Your Time, Money, and Sanity

Chestertons is hands-down the most incompetent and unprofessional “property manager” I’ve ever encountered. They lost keys I paid for (then tried to use my personal set and even blamed me when I refused), commissioned repairs without approval, missed that a whole TV was gone during inventory, repeatedly billed fees incorrectly, and constantly tried to trap me into signing renewals with worse terms. Every “manager” I’ve had has been passive, unresponsive, and required micromanaging. Communication is dreadful, follow-through non-existent, and accountability zero. They bury you in endless extra fees on top of “management fees” that clearly cover nothing. Chestertons doesn’t manage, they mismanage, overcharge, and excuse their failures with astonishing arrogance. If you value your time, money, or sanity, avoid them at all costs.

Excellent experience with Leusa

Leusa helped me find and move into my flat over the past 3 months. She has been the most lovely and caring agent I have worked with. It wasn’t a straightforward process as there was “competition” for the property I wanted to rent, but she communicated very well, during the offer process, and thereafter. Always available, answering questions fast, iterating with the landlord on my questions, but above all, I really felt she was transparent with me throughout the process and never tried to push me in any unreasonable way. I’m a first time buyer who’s been viewing flats for the past month or so. The agent at Chesterton’s, Lloyd, cancelled a viewing 15 minutes before it was due to happen when I was already 45 minutes into an hour long trip to view the property. Didn’t bother calling during the day (despite what their response below says - I had no missed calls and specifically checked my voicemails after finding out the viewing was cancelled to understand what had happened and there was nothing) or sending an email cancellation when they knew the property was unavailable for viewing from the day before. Really unprofessional, unorganized, thoughtless and a big waste of time. All in all, a negative experience. Won’t be considering them when I’m ready to sell.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism
