I cannot recommend Chesterton enough! We have recently sold our house in Islington and once again they did a professional, efficient and on the whole a brilliant job. This is the third time we have used them to buy or sell a property. We dealt with Piers who was amazing throughout the process and we can't praise him enough. He kept us informed all the way through and had the patience and perserverance that the sale needed. At times it was not entirely straight forward and I can truly say I am not sure it would have happened this quick with any other agent. We always knew from the beginning that Chesterton would be the agents to close this for us and they did not disapoint. It truly is a team of estate agents who will work for you!

Although the commission was higher than the other estate agents, we felt we were in safe hands. The market was quiet so took a bit longer to sell than normal. We had regular viewings throughout this period and with the introduction of Roberto, we got our sale. Roberto is a great communicator and kept us well informed throughout our viewings and the all important sale. Overall, it was a price worth paying to get the sale at the right price at the right time.

Praise and thanks for a job well done

As a (distant) landlord, I was left in an unacceptable situation before and over the Christmas and New Year period. I had requested an on-site meeting for a specific date in the second week of the new year but nothing was organised and communication dried-up. Ann Dickson, who does not include my property in her own portfolio, responded to my early new year appeal for help from Property Management and did a marvellous job of recovering the situation. She liaised with a (reluctant) contractor, our tenants and myself to organise a much-needed and valuable meeting on site that had looked a forlorn hope before Ann stepped-in. I am very grateful and wanted to publicly recognise Ann's efforts. She is a credit to her employer. Thank you, Ann.

Check insurance policy before moving in

Property management team of chestertons is a total disappointment. Even in emergent conditions instead of trying to be responsive, they are counting pennies. They left me in a drainage water flooded flat without any support, advising putting the heaters to max and opening the windows. In the fight of building and flat managements’ insurances, what you experience is totally meaningless to them. Their main concern is serving insurance companies. What I’ve learned is, getting and checking the insurance policy before you move in a rental is a MUST!!

Scammed for repairs.

I stayed in a short let property for 4 months. I am an older person who did not have guests for dinner or drinks, worked from home and mainly ate out. I paid £360 for the professional cleaner when I left. Chestertons paid a 3rd party to do a post tenancy inspection who CHARGED me for repainting the property, accused me of painting over defects and a bunch of other things including "slight shading around light switches". I was disputed it and was beyond furious. The response from Chestertons was "the landlord has a right to do this". The process was beyond disgusting and I recommend anyone who is remotely considering letting through Chestertons to meticulously document everything before moving in.
