Unfortunately this sale did not proceed, but Matthew and the team soon had another buyer in place which successfully concluded. Well, what can you say when an agent books you a viewing for a property they're not even managing the sale of? Called on Monday 14th about a property they had listed online, spoke to Alexander who booked us in to view at 10am today (19th), followed by an appointment at the office at 12 to speak to their in-house mortgage brokers. We arrive at the property in good time and can't see anyone around or a car with Haart's livery on it anywhere. at 9:55 I decided to call the office to ask whether he was on the way, or if he was perhaps already there. Person on the other end didn't really seem to know what to do, but confirmed my name, the time and the address of the property, and advised we just go and knock on the door as the agent was probably there waiting for us. I considered this strange (and awkward), but we're FTB and this was our first ever house viewing, so honestly not sure what the ettiquete is! So we knock awkwardly and the current owner answers and looks very confused, she says he knows nothing about a viewing and she's no longer with Haart, she's using someone else entirely!! We apologised repeatedly and were absolutely mortified. I call Haart back and get someone else on the phone, and say that we knocked as advised and were told that Haart aren't even the agent! And asked why on earth we were booked for a viewing if they're not even the agency managing the sale! This person was very apologetic and said he "had no excuse" - but how on earth can you book viewings for something you're not involved in??? And if the seller moved to another agency this week after we booked on Monday, surely you should have contacted those you had booked viewings with to cancel?? And then why, when we first called the office today, were we told to just go and knock instead of being told "Oh I'm terribly sorry, but we're no longer the agent involved, we should have contacted you to cancel"??? I've never known anything so unprofessional. Oh, and they're still pushing their in-house mortgage brokers on us - they're very keen for us to still see them, for some reason (Alexander did seem far more interested in booking us to see them than he was booking us in for the viewing during the first call on Monday!) I have since found the same property listed with the new agent and have a new viewing booked with them. The new agent seems much more professional just from the initial phone call. I told the new agent the debacle we'd just had and the embarassment (I didn't name Haart during the call, but I'm sure they're aware of who) and they were aghast. "I can't believe they told you to just knock on the door!" and they said the owner had moved to them as they said the previous agent "didn't have a clue what they were doing"! I can only hope that the seller doesn't see us when we come for the new viewing and think "Oh, it's those weirdos who turned up on my doorstep last Saturday!" At least we found out very early on in our house buying journey to avoid anything to do with Haart, so there's that I suppose.

Lara and Shannon rushed us into taking our rental property with constant pressure that we would lose it if we didn’t move quickly, while apparently telling the landlord he would lose us as tenants if he didn’t meet their deadlines. The result was us moving into a property that wasn’t even ready. We then waited over a week for basic tenancy documents that should have been provided as standard. After they took over management of my previous property, I was also contacted demanding the keys despite having an agreement with the landlord that I would keep them as I am still rent liable. When I said I would communicate directly with the landlord due to the poor experience we’ve had, I was called back by a manager and reprimanded for the conversation. Very unprofessional service.

I cannot thank Corinne enough! She was so thorough in assisting my purchase! Whilst she was of course acting for the seller, she still did follow up with them when appropriate to do so and did so with tact so as to not pit parties against each other! Her response times were second to none! And she always made time to take me on viewings to see the property, even on a number of things occasions after the offer was accepted and prior to exchange and completion! Corinne’s superb service means that I will certainly utilise your services when I eventually come to sell, and I will be recommending Haart to friends and family! She is very skilled at making complicated updates simple to understand! Corinne is a true asset to her branch and I hope that she is recognised for her work on my transaction! Haart went the extra length to fit us in for a private viewing as we were unable to attend an open day the next day, and Luke was helpful and friendly.
