GoogleZero integrity. They care neither for the landlord nor the tenant - just themselves. Landlords beware. They might seem friendly and approachable at first but they are not looking out for your interest. Tughan and Cochrane are in the business to make quick money. They do not do any cross-checks themselves - just an appointed company with an automated system that can be tricked easily and you end up with problems. Once you do have problems, they distance themselves from the equation and leave all the responsibility to you. They collect the application forms and force you to make a decision in a rush so they can get paid. GoogleExtremely misleading and unprofessional; possibly a SCAM! We recently viewed a property with them and applied after liking the property. The next day, we get a phone call that they are proceeding with the application. A bit later, we got an email from their verification agency - homelet - it looked a bit suspicious - asking for many personal details. Our suspicion was proven right when we discovered it mentioned a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ADDRESS to the one we had applied for. They were extremely unprofessional over the phone when we pointed the error and promised to follow up but never did. We rang them up again and they said the error had been corrected. We proceeded with referencing and then waited for the final offer. Finally, they rang up for us to accept the offer but there was something fishy - they wanted for us to accept over the phone and quoted a property address that was alien to us - STILL A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ADDRESS. They then emailed that the original property has been let out to someone else. SCAMMERS!NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleAvoid them like the plague. This company is an absolute shambles. We wasted 2 valuable weeks with them. They asked all of our personal information and supporting documents and they haven't even done a reference check. Collecting data???? When we asked any question, they didn't have answer and promised to call us back...I guess they lost our number. If you hope, you are going to find a property with them to rent, most likely you will end up on the street.

GoogleHad problems with mice in our rental, were told they'd send out an exterminator -- instead they sent a random old handyman who pointed out a few holes in the house where they could be getting in... and that's it. Offer zero help when trying to find a new property, tell you they'll prioritise you when you have to find a new property due to owner selling but don't even get in contact once you apply. Have to phone them to be told the property went to someone else. Useless at communicating and offer very little help.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleSuper helpful and exceptionally efficient. I travelled to view two properties in Inverness from the central belt. Only one with T&C and the other agent cancelled last minute. T&C found three other properties on the very same day without delay and showers them to me, and I applied for one that day. All within my requirements. The agent (Leigh) was extremely professional and so much more helpful than any agent I have dealt with. I was in my new home within several days! Would highly recommend.

GoogleI was a tennant under T+C during the start of the pandemic. As many did I have been on a lower income than I was previously and aggreed to a payment arrangement with the agent and landlord. What was previously an amicable situation quickly turned sour as they seemed to request additional payments beyond the agreed value, I was making very little at the time but tried to be flexible. In not too long they started sending agents to my house requesting more payments and to 'catch up and pay up' this was in direct opposition to the agreement They offerered to me but seems the rest of the organisation was more interested in berating tennants for money not due to them yet. It became harrassment and they continue to be belligerent as i have moved to get away from this Rogue agencies tactics. They always find another way to charge you more and more and more, disputes over the deposit continue as they add more silly charges in attempt to take any penny they can get the money grubbing hands on. I say this clearly now AVOID and be aware this agency is unprofessional and will try any trick in the book to get one over you. I have never been treated so unfairly by a business and have always had fantastic rapport with all the landlords i have rented off in the past. They are simply incorrigible, and greedy. GoogleI am very upset with the way weβve been treated by agents from this company. After viewing a flat we submitted our application forms by e-mail but we didnβt receive any confirmation that they are being processed. I phoned in four days later to find out what was going on and the lady I spoke to told me to send the photos of our applications again to her. We sent them one more time asking for confirmation but we didnβt get any reply so I phoned again the next day. Another lady answered the phone and told me that she is going to find out if our applications are being processed and phone me back to let me know. Of course she didnβt. I had to phone in one more time, finally they confirmed that our forms are being processed. A week later we received an e-mail from HomeLet requiring information for our tenancy at a completely different address, different part of town, at a flat with a different number of bedrooms than we wanted etc. It sounded like a joke and I thought itβs some sort of an error so I phoned in to find out what is the meaning of this. It turns out that the flat we applied for has been let to someone else but they didnβt bother to let us know, they simply transferred our application without our knowledge or consent. I find this unprofessional, dishonest and disrespectful, it makes me wonder if they treat everyone like that or is it just for the ones with foreign names. Moved into a rental property that shouldβve been cleaned βprofessionallyβ, as it stated in the contract, however a staff member told us it had only been cleaned by the previous tenants. We spent more than a week cleaning it as there was grease everywhere. They apologized and said they would make a note of it in our inventory. Moved out of the property 6 months later, leaving it a hell of a lot cleaner than it was moving in, and they charge us Β£80 as the property needed to be cleaned by professionals. Explained our disappointment in multiple emails but Tughan&Cochrane ignored our complaint completely. Can only recommend to avoid this company at all cost.

GoogleDo not rent a property through tughan & cochrane. They do not do any property maintenance even though they insist on doing invasive property maintenance inspections regularly. They will increase your rent repeatedly and ignore any issues you report with the property. There staff talk to you like you are a child and are really condescending.
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
