Of all the agents I got to value my first flat, Emma was by far the most honest, proactive and positive. Also, at every occasion, Jason has been really impressive in integrity to protect my needs and proved to find me tenants who are like minded and long-term, so really impressive. GoogleFrom the beginning of our buying process we have been in good hands with Jon Brown at Brices Sales and Lettings. He has really made us feel at ease for first time buyers. Poppy and I have never felt like a burden to Jon he has been really professional, answering all our emails and phone calls within hours and explaining everything so clearly. Jon really sold the property to us with a charming warm approach, and he really helped us visualise living there but was also very genuine with the negative aspects to the property. We are so excited everything is finally all complete and we can't thank Jon enough!.....even when he had an emergency in the office during one of our appointments he didn't cancel but sent his trusty colleague Jason to the rescue!

GoogleI bought a flat via Brice and my contact was Jon. He is the best estate agent I have ever dealt with. Very professional, hard working, a great communicator he made the whole process stress free. Jon was extremely fair to both sides in the sale. He didn't pull any of the tricks I had encountered with other chain estate agents who try to inflate the price by pretending there are a string of other buyers, that suddenly vanish into thin air as soon as you offer a tiny bit more! He also didn't push me into using a certain financial advisor for my mortgage to make more money for the company and then threaten that I wouldn't be first to see new properties if I didn't comply - I hate it when they do that! Jon is the best. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Jason is a top star! Friendly and welcoming made our move very easy. We were stuck between two flats they had and he offered a lot of advice and details about both flats to help us choose. The paper work and moving arrangements were done quickly. Leah was very helpful in getting contracts signed due to a family emergency I couldn't make it down to do it in person.
The standard of their property was clean and tidy well maintained
Would recommend this estate agent and would definitely recommend Jason hes quick to reply, honest and friendly everything you could ask for from an estate agent.

GoogleI've known the staff at Brices for many years. Mostly dealt with Louise, Ellie and Jon but everyone in the team does a great job.
Initially they were my agent when I was a tenant looking to rent. I then rented out my own property through them and later also sold my property through Brices. I can honestly say that they are one of the few great state agents out there were all the staff are professional and they do a great job. They do not disappoint.
They give great importance to finding you suitable tenants. I've never had any problems with my tenants thorough out the years and when it came to selling my property they did a great job finding me a buyer quickly and also very good at communicating with me through the process always keeping me informed of what was happening.
I've always recommended Brices to people I know and I know for a fact that the've been happy with Brices after having used them.
They are a small but top state agent. With friendly approachable staff but more importantly they are very professional. No need to look elsewhere.

I cannot recommend these guys enough. Initially when Emma first viewed the property I was renting out she was enthusiastic, personable and genuine, all qualities I often find difficult to find in estate agents. Everyone at Brice's however is exactly that!
I immediately went with them as I knew I would get a personal experience but from a very professional company. They didn't disappoint and in fact shocked me at how accommodating and helpful they were!! Very rarely do companies treat you as individuals and go beyond the call of duty, but this is exactly what Brice's did.
They told me they would rent it within a few weeks, and although I experienced a few difficulties, Brices overcame them and delivered on time.
They gave me a more than competitive price and tailored to my needs. When the property wasn't renting they listened to me and adjusted things accordingly so that the flat was rented out in time.
Jason went above and beyond, not only keeping me up to date on viewings but also providing advice and help even past working hours, just to ensure the property let quickly. (Even helping with some DIY tips!)
Louise and in fact the whole team was friendly, helpful and I really cannot thank them all enough.
Top class company, you'd be daft to use anyone else. (plus there's two office dogs!!)

Look at the number of agents that come and go in Brighton and you'll see Brices stood the test of time and turmoil on more than one occasion - there's a good reason for that!.

GoogleThough I'd like to think I'm a fairly positive kind of guy, when it comes to finding a new home to rent, just the thought of having to deal with letting agents can easily dampen my day.. So it was a pleasant surprise when I found the flat for me, let through Brice's.
Jason took me round for a private viewing which gave me space to ask him and the previous tenant any questions.. He seemed to know more about the flat than most letting agents would and anything he didn't know he found out for me.. I fell in love with the property and Jason could see that. He wanted me in there and did what he could to make it possible, bearing in mind that, of course, the landlord is always the agent's first priority.
This showed me that this small yet successful sales and letting agent aim to treat prospective tenants like human beings looking for a home and not just a number that may or may not earn them a bit of commission.
The couple of bad reviews that I have read on here seem to be regarding property management. Brice's made it clear to me that once I was given the keys the landlord would be responsible for managing the property, not Brice's. For me they did everything they were supposed to do and more.
So far all in the office have been really friendly and helpful, even the sales team! I would certainly recommend them as an agent to anyone in the area looking to buy, sell or rent as a first point of call.

GoogleNEVER RENT FROM THIS AGENT.
Brices simply do not care about tenants.
This agency is evicting an asthma sufferer during a respiratory pandemic.
I have paid full rent throughout 2020, during the pandemic without the ability to work.
On top of being a cold, heartless, calculating set of agents and having a total disregard for human health and dignity, they fail to respond to emails for days plus allowed the Landlord to store their belongings in our living room for over a month against our will, with zero compensation.
Despite paying £50,000+ during my tenure - all they do is act with pure disdain for tenants sanity.
Please read the previous review of Brices by Nicole Ralph regarding the same set of Landlords. This is an occuring theme at Brices. Profit over anything.
To emphasise this point, the agent at Brices (Alex Sheppard) LIED to use about the previous tenant (the afforementioned Nicole Ralph) who was also evicted against their will, stating they were very happy at this property!!

Dear Ross, we were saddened to receive this review. It is imperative that we reiterate that we are bound by the landlords instructions. We have and will pass on any comments you wish to make about the landlords decisions relating to your tenancy.
Brices have not evicted you. The landlord has served you 6 months notice as they need to sell the property for personal reasons.
You have not paid full rent as stated. You are in arrears currently, and we spent considerable time hearing your circumstances with empathy and agreeing a payment plan for you with the landlord. You have not followed through with that agreement.
We have always replied to your emails, often in the interim, stating that we are taking and discussing the landlords instructions to your requests.
Brices are unable to 'not allow' a landlord to leave an item of furniture in their property. This was a piano that the landlord wished to leave there and we removed when you requested. We negotiated and facilitated your request when you asked.
A review is a fair and just opinion on the agent not a way to get at the landlord through us.

GoogleI e-mailed and called this agency, but could not reach them, then they replied to me late, they said they could not arrange a viewing and asked if I wanted to see a video tour. I said ok but they didn't send a video tour. A week has passed and today they e-mailed me and said that the flat has been let today. So I called the agency and this time they picked up my call. They said there was no video tour and they quickly arranged the viewings and let the flat. I wouldn't recommend working with this agency, they don't answer your emails and calls. And after a week, they tell a completely different story.

Omer, I have called, emailed and texted you to discuss this but I have not heard back from you? At the point of your initial enquiry, we were already in discussion with a potential tenant who had arranged a second viewing.
We responded to your enquiry with our standard questions regarding your circumstances to check if this property would fit with you. Your reply 3 days later meant that the tenancy was close to being agreed hence our email to inform you it was let at the point the holding fee was taken.
I fully appreciate how frustrating this is and the lettings market, as a whole, is moving so fast as tenants far outnumber available properties.

GoogleI decided not to renew my contract with this agent because i couldn't get anything done in time to improve the overall living standards of the property which ultimately affected my well-being. I gave my notice in writing and handed over the property in a better condition than i found it. Alas the agent didn't want to give me back my deposit. Their level of professionalism is definitely way below the belt and it makes me wonder why they are there simply to frustrate people and not fulfill their obligations.

Dear Jared, I am writing in response to a review you placed on Google recently. We were shocked and disappointed to read your comments and take this very seriously. We cannot find any record of you as a tenant or any tenants in the States and/or US Navy?
We called an office meeting and ran through all checkouts and tenancies in an attempt to establish which property and set of circumstances this may relate to. We are unaware of any tenants not getting their needs met, delays in maintenance works or indeed a mutually positive and fair return on their deposit.
Any works and deposit negotiations are subject to the landlords instructions and come from them not us. If we believe the landlord to be unfair in any delays in maintenance or unsubstantiated deposit deductions we will always fight our tenants corner to ensure they are being looked after to the standard that my company dictates. We are members of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme to ensure fair negotiations for both parties. We are bound by the landlords instructions and cannot override them as the property ultimately belongs to them but if we are unable to carry out the service we promise to our tenants we will do everything in our power to source another property and dis-instruct ourselves. We choose our landlords as carefully as we choose our tenants to ensure our tenancies work well for everyone.
Please can you let me know which tenancy you are referring to and the events that occurred as we are genuinely confused and unaware. I guarantee that we can resolve any issues and welcome your feedback.

GoogleOur experience as a first time tenant of Brices was awful. It's hard to separate the landlord from the letting agency but since our landlord has used the firm for many years and continues to do so, Brices is complicit in allowing the landlord's bad behavior and heavy handed, one sided contract and omissions of important details about the home (such as keeping the master bedroom locked for the landlord's personal storage). Save yourself the heartache and avoid this firm and hopefully you'll avoid the landlord, too. (For the record, we received every penny of our deposit back and have been applauded by Brices for treating the property so well. We raised our concerns with Brices directly from the early days of our tenancy but they were not taken seriously or addressed fairly. It's only after we've received our deposit back that I feel I can speak out - all tenants can understand our predicament.)
