GoogleOne star. I would provide none if the option was available.
To be clear and for the avoidance of doubt, the review that follows covers this company in its entirety. This is not made in reference to any one particular group of staff employed by these people as there has been more than one poor experience at more than one of these branches. As far as the reviewer is concerned, as similar questionable tactics and behaviour have been witnessed when dealing with multiple staff in this company's employ, the selected location is appropriate for this review.
This company, who label themselves 'london's estate agent' - clearly not the case based on the sheer volume of reviews to the contrary - seem to think that the standard form/s of behaviour towards and interaction with the british public do not for whatever reason apply to them.
Having myself had to contact this group on more than one occasion only to find that selected parts of whatever information they had chosen to publish to one property platform or another - including Rightmove and OnTheMarket - was in fact either misleading or completely fabricated, I have yet to experience a single civil interaction with any of them based on the fact that all of the employees here appear to believe they can drop new information regarding their so-called 'listings' into a conversation as and when they please to.
I am a busy person as most any individual who has made it to the point in life where they have to deal with this lot would be - and i do not want to or need to have to hear about all of the additional clauses or addendums attached to the sale or rental of a london property that them or their pals have decided to suddenly reveal while i am wasting my own valuable time calling them directly, which has to be done in order to circumvent their invasive automated text messaging which is clearly designed to drum up more prospective business for their own shop.
I can honestly say that, with the exception of one other london bunch, this lot are a close second for the worst estate agents that i have thankfully never had to and will now never have to have anything more than cursory dealings with ever again.

I've recently started renting from Foxtons. They are both the letting agent and the managing agent. I have never paid so much for such a bad service. None of the extractor fans work, my heating doesnt work, the curtain rods are bent and now one has fallen off & luckily no one got hurt because they have taken so long to resolve the issues. I'm wondering is this even legal?

TrustpilotWARNING: Extreme harassment and zero internal coordination
I contacted ONE agent for a specific property viewing, and it has turned into a total nightmare. I am being hounded by at least FOUR different colleagues from this branch. The frequency is beyond unprofessional, I just received 2 calls in the span of 5 minutes.

TrustpilotOutrageous and awful management service
As a landlord (don't hate me!) paying for a managed service, they tried to charge me Β£90 + vat to fix a meter door with two cable ties. This is typical, and I have to chase them repeatedly for everything. My tenants and I deserve better.

GoogleI worked with Charles Okwuosa as part of the concierge service. I have to say, it was an excellent experience, Charles was on the ball from the get go. He was always available for calls, he did all the research work for me to find the right contractor for the clean up. He took the work very personally and was extremely compassionate about the situation. You are a legend Charles!!

GoogleGarbage real estate agency. They show all kindness until the contract is signed, but after the contract is signed, they stop working at all. At least Koreans, don't work with this company. If any problems arise in the house I live in, they are not handled properly. They only respond via email based on what is advantageous in the contract, and they never deal with complaints with sincerity. It's a dirty company that only collects trash. Better go somewhere else.

TrustpilotAppalling lack of transparency, 5 months of silence followed by an βambushβ claim
I had an incredibly unfair and unprofessional experience with the Foxtons Deposits Team. We moved out in October 2025, yet it took five months for any clarity regarding our deposit, a delay that felt like a tactical move to strip us of our right to provide counter-evidence.

GoogleWe had a fantastic experience working with Foxton while in the process of purchasing our house. They are very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Archie was excellent. He knows the area very well and was professional at all times. From start to finish, he is always available and always communicated very promptly with all relevant information.
Would definitely recommed to anyone who's looking to buy a property.

GoogleWe moved out from the property by end of July and accepted the requested deduction from our deposit even we think that it is unfair.
However, after 2+ month we still couldn't get remaining deposit back. Process is extremely slow
Lastly, 4 weeks ago we have been told that we would receive deposit in 5-7 days but still could't get it.

GoogleDo not be fooled by the corporate image. The Foxtons team were awesome. Iβll try not to make the experience sound too good, however, my house was on the market for approximately two years with three local agents at price ranges from offers above Β£999,999 to Β£1200000.. Foxtonsβ approach was clear and simple.
We had an open day resulting in 10 viewings & 3 offers and together Saijal (the manager) and I chose what was the best buyer for me. Edward, the sales negotiator, gave me regular updates and helped in accommodating requests from the buyer which we adhered to. From start to finish I felt I was in safe hands which was not the case with other agents. I would recommend Saijal, Edward and Foxtons to anyone who want a professional service. Highly recommended.

TrustpilotFoxtons found tenants for my property who filmed porn and offer "happy ending" massage services.
I trusted Foxtons to manage my property professionally. They found the tenants, collected commission (2 months rent per year) and management fees, and were contractually obligated to inspect and monitor my home. They failed on every count.

I rented a property managed by Foxtons for five years and one month. We paid rent on time every month and never had a complaint raised against us. Then we tried to leave.

GoogleFoxtons is very helpful when you want to rent from them (=give them money), but it pretty much stops there.
Property management depends completely on the person who manages your property. During a 7-year tenancy, we had 5-6 different property managers, 2 of them good, rest of them an absolute mess. The good ones actually responded to emails/calls, and got things fixed. The bad ones did not know how to communicate at all, left us hanging for a week with a massive leak from out kitchen ceiling that affected our electrics and made the lamp flicker like crazy. No response, no help, just a dark kitchen with a bucket on the floor. So it really depends if you are lucky enough to get a property manager who cares at all. The fact that we had a different person almost every year says something about Foxtons as a company, if their staff turnover is so big.
And now, when we wanted to leave the flat... what a nightmare!!
We sent a written termination of tenancy to Foxtons, and nothing happened for about 4 weeks. Then suddenly, our phones started ringing constantly. They wanted to book about 5 visits/week to our flat, either for market value estimation, photography, general check, viewings for different people etc. This would have probably been fine last year (although annoying), but now, during coronavirus times I found this completely unacceptable. I understand that these need to be done, but there are ways to make it safe for everyone.
There was not the slightest try from Foxtons to arrange as little visits as possible (e.g. do photography and other stuff on the same visit). They also kept calling us with less than 10h notice that they wanted to bring someone to view the flat. When I raised this issue via email, that I do not think it's right to bring strangers into our home multiple times a week every week until we leave during a global pandemic, and asking if they could for example arrange one viewing day/week and bring the people in stages, they called my husband to ask "what exactly is the problem here". They basically ignored me completely, did not respond and called my husband to try to sort the matter out. We were also sent multiple emails with wrong information, for example wrong dates and times for Check-out reports. When we emailed back to ask is this wrong, we never got a response.
And then there's issues with deposit, of course.
MyFoxtons portal asks for the tenant to wait and that the deposit will usually be returned about 10 days after the vacate date. We waited, and then emailed about 2 weeks later when there was no communication. We received an email apologising for the delay (blaming coronavirus lock down of course, even though they can easily work from home during a lock down), saying that we should get an update by then of the week (it was Wednesday). Another 2 weeks passed, and no information. I sent another email, another week passed and no response. I sent another email, and then finally, 6 weeks after the vacate date we received information stating that there will be deductions on our deposit (also wrongly held for a clean we are not obligated to pay, as we were not provided a clean when moving in). We disputed it, and had to wait for 12 days again before we got a response, that actually did not respond to any of our complaints, just said that the comments have been passed to the landlord, which I already knew. The non-disputed part of the deposit has now been returned, 2 MONTHS LATER, but no news at all for the disputed part that is still held by Foxtons.
I think this is all absolutely disgusting, they are very keen on getting you in their flats and taking your money, but when it comes to helping the tenant or respecting their rights when they want to leave, the customer service is non-existent. We were their tenants for 7 years (not sure why) always paid our rent on time and never cause any kind of trouble, and get treated like this.
Avoid their flashy lights they put up when you're looking for a home, it only goes downhill from there.

GoogleLandlords Avoid at all costs. I had my flat up for Sale through Foxtons, after a period of no offers, was persuaded to rent through them with their letting service. I am an experienced Landlord and was a Director of the Right To Manage company for the block of three flats. I explained this to them and therefore, I did NOT need them to manage the flat. They completely ignored this, and proceeded to charge me management fees, and were constantly late with rental payments. I am now taking my complaint to the Property Ombudsman, as they have still not even bothered to address my complaint.
