Avoid

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Based on my experience, I would advise new landlords to be extremely cautious with Foxtons. The agent’s explanations of commission and contract terms were unclear, and I ended up in a lengthy dispute over unexpected fees. Which is escalated to ombudsman and will probaly go to the court. Never trust a word of Foxton's agents. Always insist on written communication and carefully review all documents before signing. I would not recommend Foxtons to others based on my experience.

We recently conducted a few market appraisals for a small and unassuming property for rental. We met with three agents and Harmit stood out far beyond the others whilst also being the most expensive. However this didn’t matter as you apparently get what you pay for and we could not have been more impressed. From the get go, right until the tenant moved in, his professionalism, attention to detail and delivery of what was promised was second to none and I would highly recommend them again and again. Thanks Harmit, you have restored my faith in a world where Estate Agents just tell you the highest price to get you on board and then ask you to reduce it two weeks later.

BOARDER LINE CRIMINAL COMPANY! I highly advise people do not use Foxtons!! They have made renting very very difficult for us and I couldn't be more happy to now be with a different estate agents who made the whole moving process so much easier. Jan Taylor was an awful property manager who rarely got our issues sorted and set out to have an argument with us, regularly shouting down the phone at as when we had issues and she hadn’t done her job. When our tenancy came to an end through a no fault eviction in which Foxtons hid from us that the the landlord was in legal disputes whilst allowing us to renew the tenancy for what we thought was a further 2 years, we were then told a month later we must vacate the property due to their licensing issues. Foxtons tried to “assist” with finding us a new property and put us in contact with Ben. He was nothing short of harassing, having told him we did not want to rent with Foxtons due to our bad experiences he insisted on trying to find us properties. The properties he did send were well over our budget and nothing like what we wanted. I told him many times that we did not want to be with Foxtons and had already found a property but yet continued to message me, this resulted in me having to block him. I could continue for a lot longer about how awful Foxtons are but this is already long enough. I repeat do not use Foxtons!!

An International sale

Thanks to Blaval and whole Hounslow team, especially Rizwan and Elisa. We started with Foxtons on this in October of 2023. Through those two years, the Foxtons team stuck with us as we progressed through the process of obtaining Deputyship for our mother's affairs. Once given the green light for everything they progressed the sale quicker than I could have imagined and for full asking price. On top of all this, they had to work this with a client living in the U.S. Lots of emails and international phone calls. Thanks Blaval Mustaq and the whole Hounslow team!

As the owner of a flat

As the owner of a flat, I struggled for months to find tenants. If you are working on auction, be careful if someone work with seller to get your deposit. I worked with Ahxxd, on foxton side, and bidx1, so not cool. I am also using their solicitor, completely in big trouble now which they created. be careful scammers-- 1. Misrepresentation of Property: The seller or their agent may have misrepresented the property's condition, value, or ownership status to entice you to put down a deposit. This could involve false claims about the property's amenities, potential for development, or rental income. 2.Failure to Provide Legal Documentation: Deliberately withholding essential legal documents, such as title deeds, property searches, or planning permissions, needed for your mortgage application could be part of a scam to prevent you from completing the purchase or securing financing. 3.Deposit Fraud: If you suspect that the agency has intentionally misled you to secure your deposit without intending to fulfill their obligations, it could be a form of deposit fraud. This might involve promising features or benefits of the property that do not exist or fabricating urgency to push you into making a deposit. 4.Collusion between Seller and Solicitor: In some cases, there could be collusion between the seller and their solicitor to withhold vital information or documents needed for the transaction. Foxtons wrongly extended our tenancy…

Foxtons wrongly extended our tenancy end date then withheld our deposit on non payment of rent grounds. Even after acknowledging their 'error' it took 2 months for them to correct it. The money was only returned after a letter before action for a small claims court was sent. Other customers are advised to exercise extreme caution with how deposits are safeguarded.

I was spoken to quite rudely on the phone with agents pushing for an earlier viewing or just scheduling a viewing without asking for availabilities. I have told agents multiple times to stop calling me but this was not heard. I even removed my information from the portal and noted that I am no longer looking for a property. I still receive 3-4 calls a day whilst informing them that I do not want to rent through them.
