Awful service from the Forest Row branch going back to selling a large property around August 2019 - eventually selling with another agent in March 2020. Used them as they were very local to the property - wish we had not. Also with a few lies thrown in. Things happened behind our backs without forewarning you to which they had poor excuses when confronted - be aware.

GoogleWouldn’t say don’t purchase a house through this Mansell and McTaggart division, but treat with caution! Their main objective doesn’t appear to be to coordinate and complete the deal.
We are very sorry that you have edited your initial 5* review of your buyer experience with us, Royce. Whilst it is your entitlement to do so, it does leave us extremely disappointed given all of the facts in your particular purchase journey with us. There are many factors involved in an evaluation of market property prices and we do have the expertise and are an authority on the subject. The property was appraised at the market rate, with all economic climate considerations taken into account, as well as other influencing elements. Following your offer of well below the asking price, you chose to proceed all the way up to a position of exchange of contracts. You then chose to try and re-negotiate with the sellers by further reducing your offer price. The sellers did concede to work with you in managed negotiations through us and out of good-will provided a fair reduction. However, this was insufficient for you and you then informed us that you now did not wish to proceed at any more than the nearest stamp duty bracket. At the point of exchange of contracts, this was rather frustrating on all parties who had worked to settle on a previous agreement. Your solicitor had made it clear to you at the start of the transaction the stamp duty brackets, and evidently the last-minute negotiations were due to an absence of your understanding of the stamp duty situation. Alas, an agreement could not be met with you and the sellers felt extremely let down by your position. We understood how steadfast you wished to stay under the stamp duty boundaries, and to that end, the house you were interested in was simply out of your budget and we feel rather saddened that this review is not a reflection of the service that we provide, but that of your personal situation. We do wish you all the best with your continued search.
