GoogleI just received another letter demanding payment for non-payment of a utility bill to add to my list of debt collection letters, final demands and threats of court action for non-payment of bills and council tax. I rented a flat through C&W, the rent and all bills were supposed to be included in my rent. This is what it said in my tenancy agreement and this is exactly the hassle free reason I chose to rent the flat. When I started receiving bills they told me it wasn’t their problem and I should take it up with my landlord. It turns out that C&E staff notified all the utility suppliers that I was liable for water, electricity, council tax etc. despite my agreement saying otherwise. I have tried in vain to get them to sort the problem out, after all that is why my landlord and me have gone via an agent. They only seem interested in passing blame onto my landlord. In the meantime I have spend a lot of my own time trying to explain to the council, ulility suppliers that my bills are included in my rent, this has been very time consuming and costly for me. I had a very threatening letter that talks about me getting a ccj for non-payment of council tax, which is of great concern to me because I run a small business. Anyway, if you are reading this, Avoid.
