GoogleI would happily recommend Chalk Street for selling your home. We had an initial consult with Jack about the process and Faye arranged our viewings and gave good advice when needed.
The sale was a difficult one with chains falling through & things not working out initially but Mandy was always on top of progression & making sure all involved were being chased and responding when necessary.
We were always very confident throughout that whatever was within Chalk Streets power to take forward would be getting done.
It was a long and difficult process for us made all the harder by unknowingly taking on a very difficult purchase but Faye & Mandy kept us on track and sane & helped to mitigate some of the unavoidable stress.
We will hopefully never move house again, but if we do we will be going back to Chalk Street.

GoogleChalk Street are fantastic. I initially spoke with Jack about getting my house on the market, he was very helpful and swift to respond to all my queries. We quickly got the house on the market, with very professional photos for the website. Faye and Gracie arranged the viewings, couldn't have been more professional. We got a buyer on the first weekend we were on the market.
We soon found a place to buy, had an offer accepted, and then we were in the hands of Mandy. Mandy was brilliant. Very responsive, full of good advice, in regular contact with my solicitor and helped push the chain along. The estate agents we bought through showed exactly why Chalk Street are the best. They rarely returned my calls, rarely contacted Mandy and never provided updates. Mandy helped keep us sane!
Using their set fee options, Chalk Street also came in notably cheaper than their competitors. Great value for money.
As a mortgage broker, I see the difference a good estate agent can make in the whole process. If only all estate agents were like Chalk Street, my working life would be a lot easier!

Prevented me to go for a higher asking price and after an offer on the 2nd day, refused other viewings to go ahead. When I wanted to put an offer on another house, the progress manager whom I called Ms Brutal refused the call, saying the whole department was closed 9am on a Friday. ****** The response is a blatant lie. I was told not to go ahead with any other viewings to "Give this chap a chance"! Stop lying. Ms Brutal was said to be on holiday and even his ex colleague could not get to talk to her and of course, I couldn't put an offer on a house on Church End Lane as they smelt the odious smell of MONEY! You can lie, but I am not the only person posting these views. Never use this company as they are playing god with your major asset. Houses around the area went for £500k. But the rep who came said no and asked me to try £475k. On the 2nd day, some discerning bargain hunter offered £450k and I accepted it. More viewings had initially been arrranged but I was dissuaded from taking more viewings so as to give this bargain hunter a chance. Remember:1) Go online to check prices for comparable houses. No estate agents will work for YOU. They see £3500 and will try to close off the deal. If they ask for £475K, you should go for £500K. 2) Keep your wit with you. When they refused further viewings, threaten to pull out from them. Your house is a major asset and house moving is traumatic. They can post a response, but remember challenge everything, trust no one, especially not estate agents and don't give away your major asset.

In response to your review, ‘Parrott’, it is only right that we respond to your points to clarify the actual timeline and activity, all of which we have documented on our records.Firstly, we never prevented you to go for a higher offer, nor at any time did we refuse other viewings.Secondly, at no point have we ever refused a call, nor told a caller that our offices are closed at 9am on a Friday, so we absolutely refute that point. We also condemn your abusive reference to our member of staff. The fact we have been consistently awarded Gold by the British Property Awards for our outstanding customer service demonstrates our total commitment and conduct towards everyone we deal with.We valued your property accurately at £450,000 given its condition and in line with other comparable properties in the immediate area. Despite this, you wanted us to list at a higher price of £475,000, which we did on your instruction. From the eight viewings of your property, most of the feedback suggested that the property required too much work, parts were in disrepair, and the asking price of £475,000 proving unrealistic. One offer was made well below your own asking price, however over a three-day period we managed to negotiate this up to a maximum offer of £450,000 which coincidentally matched our original valuation of your property. At this stage you indicated that you wanted £460,000, however the prospective buyer said they would offer no more. So almost two weeks after your property being listed on the market, and with no further interest in viewings, you asked us to accept the offer made. We left the property on the market until all we had confirmation the conveyancing process was up and running and during this period, we still did not receive any further viewing interest.We then progressed the sale efficiently until the point of exchange. At no point in that process did you mention that you felt the price achieved, which you’d personally accepted, was too low, nor did you raise any concerns.Your claim that no estate agents work for the customer is grossly inaccurate. Certainly, in our case we always put the customer at the heart of everything we do; we value properties accurately and with integrity, and we promote listed properties to generate as much interest as possible. We negotiate on the seller’s behalf to achieve the best price possible and following acceptance of an offer, our team works diligently and efficiently to make the entire process to exchange and completion as smooth as possible. Again, our awards recognising our high levels of service absolutely back this up. Your advice to others to “challenge everything, trust no one” does not mean you are correct all the time. Further, as we have been notified of issues since completion from the new owner (which we will not disclose in a public forum) it is clear this has absolutely impinged on your feelings towards our service, resulting in your inaccurate review.

GoogleThrough no fault of Chalk Street we ended up spending 10 months from start of the process to end, but throughout they were friendly, professional and seem to genuinely care about us and our frustrations with the process.
I was recommended Chalk Street by a colleague and really liked the sound of why they were set up and how they worked. From the time Jack came to do the valuation i knew it was the right pick. The team all seem to work together to get sales through rather than fighting for commission!
Faye and Ben handled our negotiations both were brilliant and really fought for the price we wanted. Gracie and Maeve were always lovely when booking in viewings and if you leave a message with them the agent will always call you right back.
But the star in the chalk street crown is Mandy in post sales, I have spoken to her just about every weekday this year, she is amazing, she is tenacious and determined in getting transactions completed as efficiently as possible. She made a very stressful time manageable and probably the reason I’m sane at the end of this process!
We also went with the mortgage advisor they recommend and he’s brill too.
If I were to do this all again (I won’t) I would do some more research on solicitors, although the ones Chalk Street recommend are fine there probably are better out there.
