GoogleProactive, professional, always enthusiastic. I couldn't have wished to deal with a better agent. We recently bought a house through them and they were a pleasure to deal with. They also represented the seller exceptionally well - actively working to help the sale go through. We now have them manage our property. Once again, they are demonstrating the value of a friendly, local business who has pride in their work. Excellent!

GoogleOur contact Mandy Gurden-Salter could not have been more helpful or supportive. She kept us informed at all stages of the process and always gave a realistic view of time scales etc. This was in stark contrast to our own agent as vendors who rarely contacted us and gave ridiculously over optimistic assessments of all aspects of our sale.

I feel obliged to review my experience with Humberts following a telephone call this morning. I'm so disappointed in the lack of compassion and interest they showed. Their advice is to look at properties below my budget and expect to overpay. He showed no interest in our willingness to make an offer but to instead clearly wanted to gouge for the maximum amount possible. It's a difficult market, but this absolutely callous lack of interest in buyers will burn Estate Agents when the market turns around. We will remember.

I phoned the York branch today because I need to buy in a hurry, ideally this weekend. I enquired about a property and the gentleman asked if I was the "difficult" lady who had called the other day. I said I hadn't called before. He went on to explain why this lady was difficult (she appeared to be worried about shadows from trees stopping light from entering the house - a perfectly valid concern when spending £1.5m) I am, apparently, just "another difficult lady" Troublesome women - we should all know our place really, shouldn't we?

GoogleHaving put an offer on a property marketed by Humbert's, the process was a long drawn out process due to some issues with our financing and the slow working environment by the solicitors involved due to Covid. It took me a full six months to get to exchange and all the way thru this tedious process Mandy at Humbert's showed unwavering patience and professionalism in keeping all parties on track and keeping us all calm in the face of the slow progress. GoogleWe have recently bought a house through Humberts of Honiton. Even though they were acting on behalf of the vendors, it seemed to us that they were always acting with our best interests at heart too. Alex in particular was always available to pass on info as required. He is professional and his communications skills are superb. The viewings and the bid negotiations were frantic but Alex talked us through the process at every stage. In the run up to exchange of contracts, we were kept in the loop so always knew what timeline we were working towards. Completion day was seamless. All in all, Humberts excelled.

Eight years on from our purchase and the business had changed with Alex and Alistair now running their own franchise. However, in terms of service and professionalism nothing has changed. Our property was marketed for a fairly long time with them due to the impact of Covid-19 but Mandy, Alex and Alistair, who were all involved with the viewings and selling, never once attempted to rush us into dropping the price or taking offers that did not suit us, just for them to get a sale. They really did seem to have our interest at heart and that made all the difference to the selling of our much loved family home. Professional, courteous, friendly and patient!
