Poor service on this occasion

Unfortunately I had a very poor experience with Coopers recently having marketed my house with them. The poor review is based primarily on the following factual occurrences throughout my time with them. 1 - Despite my request to have a For Sale Board put outside my property and my reminding them that it had not been put up, they failed to put a board up for the entire 15 weeks my house was on the market! 2 - In corresponding with me regarding viewings etc, they addressed emails to an entirely different person. I called the office to ask them to change this - it never was and it did not assure me there was any attention to detail. Correspondence was addressed (in name) to my cousin who had sold a house previously with them!! 3 - In 15 weeks I had +/- 5 viewings on my property - I accept that Coopers cannot influence this. During this 15 weeks however, I was not contacted on one single occasion to discuss the situation, look at different strategy/consider lowering price etc. There was complete radio silence from Coopers and quite simply no contact whatsoever - this is something they could have influenced/done!! I never had one call to discuss the sale or assure me they were still working to actively market the property throughout the entire 15 weeks. The company were very apologetic when I fed back to them after taking my property off the market with them - however it really was an unfortunately very poor experience for me on this occasion, made a little worse by having had a previously good service from the company - hence my return.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY. My experience with Coopers of London, particularly dealing with Mr. William Delaney and Anne Hughes, was appalling. I would strongly urge prospective tenants to think twice before renting a property managed by this agency. We experienced serious disrepair involving leaks, water damage, pest concerns, and months of disruptive construction work. Despite documenting the problems extensively with photographs, videos, and emails, communication was repeatedly confrontational and dismissive rather than constructive or professional. We endured more than three months of building works while continuing to pay full rent, even though parts of the property, including the bathroom, were unusable. Their proposed solution? We were told to use the bathroom at a nearby gym. Workers also stole and damaged personal belongings when we were not in the property and despite raising these concerns agency deliberately chose to enter the property without our authorization. The handling of access to the property was equally concerning. There were repeated attempts to arrange or obtain access without what I considered proper consent or reasonable coordination, causing significant stress and disruption. One incident during COVID was particularly shocking. As an asthmatic tenant concerned about unnecessary exposure, I asked that property viewings take place while we were present and provided several alternative time slots. Rather than treating those concerns respectfully, William Delaney described my medical concerns in writing as “spurious” and proceeded with a viewing despite our objection. Throughout the tenancy, I felt there was an extraordinary lack of accountability, empathy, and basic professionalism. Instead of feeling that serious problems with our home were being addressed, we repeatedly found ourselves having to document issues, chase responses, and defend perfectly reasonable concerns. This was, without question, the worst experience I have ever had with a property agency. I cannot recommend Coopers of London under any circumstances. If you value respectful communication, proper handling of maintenance problems, and a professional relationship with the people managing your home, my advice is simple: RUN AWAY and find another agency.

Cherelle was absolutely fantastic…

Cherelle was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. She was incredibly helpful, professional and supportive from start to finish, and always made sure I was kept informed along the way. Buying a house can be a stressful process, but having someone as responsive and reliable as Cherelle made such a difference. I really appreciated all the work she put in behind the scenes to keep everything moving and help get the purchase over the line. I’ve now collected the keys and couldn’t be happier. Property Sale

Although our first sale fell through, Cherelle was always there to help and move the situation onwards. She always kept meup to date with events, called us when she said she would and explained everything to me as the sale progressed. All members of Coopers were very respectful to my mother, (whose house it was) during the viewing period, ensuring it was convenient for her and not upsetting in any way. I can only thank them all very much, and recommend them highly.

Had an extremely unpleasant experience with Hillingdon Cooper’s Residential. When we moved out, we were told no documents were needed to process our deposit return through the TDS. After three weeks with no updates, we had to chase them, only to be told by the manager that we needed to contact the landlord directly for the refund, completely contradicting their earlier advice. The lack of clear communication, misleading information, and zero support made the process unnecessarily stressful. I would not recommend Cooper’s Lettings to anyone who expects reliable information or proper assistance with their deposit.

Coopers are more focused on quick transactions than achieving the best outcome for their clients. When I made an offer on a property, there was little effort to engage properly or provide any meaningful feedback. It came across as if they were only interested in closing deals quickly, rather than securing the best outcome. The way they handled my offer raised serious concerns about their transparency and honesty. Communication felt evasive, and I was left questioning whether they acted in good faith throughout the process. UPDATE: regarding reply. I’m disappointed by the suggestion that my review might be fake, it is entirely genuine and based on my personal experience with your branch. Please focus on addressing issues raised rather than questioning authenticity.
