GoogleAfter 9 days since I made the offer, they said they are waiting for the landlord to reply, and I asked several times in the middle of the process, but I still got the same answer in a very perfunctory way, they don't help you tenant, they don't tell you if the landlord agrees or not, it's the worst experience I've ever had with renting a flat :)

Thank you for reviewing your experience of a property letting application.
I understand your frustration and appreciate your comments. We act as an introductory agent and are employed on behalf of the managing agent in this particular case. We presented your application to them and despite several attempts to gain an answer, they eventually advised they'd accepted another one.
This, I agree, is not how the process should be conducted and have relayed this to the management company in question as I do not want this to reflect how we would otherwise go about our business.
I'm sorry you experienced this and hope you've since moved with more success.

GoogleTread with caution.
Hands down the worst experience of dealing with a lettings agent in 25 years as an owner and tenant.
A price was agreed on, an offer made and deposit paid at the top end of the advertised price for a property. This agent claims they have worked extensively with the landlord and that they were sole agent for the property.
5 days later, they request a 20% premium on the rent - this was after a deposit had been accepted.
Furthermore the apartment I made an offer on was subsequently listed by another agent, whilst my deposit was being held.
Citizens Advice Bureau recommended filing a complaint to the PRS (Property Redress Scheme) which I will of course do.
Low integrity, seriously unprofessional and unethical conduct. Dishonest trading behaviour that contravenes well known and generally accepted trading standards and principles.
I would not recommend working with this agent at all.
If only zero stars was an option!

This is a misleading assessment of events and goes against what we stand for as an agency. We do not make decisions on behalf of our landlords, and we've detailed the reasoning in previous emails and phone calls to you.
Your application was turned down (never agreed) and holding deposit returned in full immediately after.
We will always act in the best interests of our clients whilst ensuring all we have dealings with are supported and communicated to with a duty of care and responsibility at all times - something our reviews will reflect.
We look forward to responding to any formal complaint where we will, of course, be able to demonstrate we acted reasonably as an agency with the instructions provided.
The same advice should be applied to agents and landlords alike when reviewing prospective tenants and their application for a tenancy - tread with caution.
