The sales experience was fine - a few glitches setting up the contract and then not recording a new house alarm code in the system. Selling price ended up £12,000 below original estimate. Otherwise very competent and kept us well informed during the various showings.Once a sale was agreed, contact shifts to a Ryder & Dutton Move Manager, in our case Laura Gittins who was excellent. Without Laura we would have had no idea what was happening as getting information from the solicitors was like pulling teeth. She was able to talk to all buyers/sellers in the chain which was extremely useful.

Honestly, words can’t do justice to what a great job Alex McMahon and Shannon Laycock (and others) of the Rawtenstall branch did! Not only did they navigate a particularly difficult chain for us, they did so in a manner that left us optimistic and secure in their ability to overcome it. Not only did they keep us up to date proactively, they were able to assuage any concerns that we had and even went above and beyond by doing work that in reality should’ve been done by the other agents in the chain. I cannot recommend Ryder and Dutton enough, and that is solely due to Alex and Shannon’s commitment to excellence and professionalism. If you are unsure where to have you house sale managed by, do not do yourself a disservice - use Ryder and Dutton. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Alex McMahon at the Rawtenstall office was exceptional throughout our house sale & purchase. We were selling via another agent, but this didn't stop Alex. Her customer service was first class, doing exactly what she said she would. Our chain was long; The process lasted over a year and, at times, was extremely difficult and frustrating. This didn't stop Alex from delivering a top-class service. Liaising with all agents and solicitors to keep us well informed. We really appreciate everything that Alex did for us! Thanks again Alex. However, from the very first day we placed our home on the market everyone at Ryder&Dutton Heywood, especially our caseworker, Catherine, did everything possible to take a lot of that stress out of the process. Feeling let down with this Company. So many things to write about it has already caused me Stress and Anxiety just thinking about it Had an apology this morning at 08:21 from Head Office on the phone. Then again by the Manager of the Branch at 08:29, but excuses too much. Got a meeting with the Assistant Manager on Tues 22 Nov at 11am I am going to make a formal complaint to the Head Office via email to the Director / Head of the Sales Team Totally bemused at the lack of communication and on this occasion lack of Compitence they showed....and lack of admittance without all the excuses that followed in the conversation. I stated that we were Considering changing Estate Agents and I was told by the Manager " 30 days notice", where I added you have failed at the level of Service, only to be told.... now get this " A Contract is a Contract is a Contract". I stated it works both ways and you failed so you have failed your side of the Contract "

GoogleI unfortunately didn't use Ryder and Dutton to sell my property but they acted for our seller. To say that Catherine went above and beyond is an understatement. She was absolutely pivotal in helping the sale go through as we had so many issues with the council and land registry. Would highly recommend and only wished she had been out estate agent. Catherine is an absolute asset and a genuine diamond.
