Very disappointing experience with Foxtons. Their agents are consistently unprofessional. Everyone was pleasant prior to the deposit being paid, however the level of service declined noticeably afterwards. Communication became poor, with calls going to voicemail and requests often unanswered. I would strongly caution others to think twice before dealing with Foxtons, especially if you expect reliability and professionalism.

Agents are target based driven, the minute you make a enquiry it’s like a race against time and next thing you know a few agents are phoning asking the same questions! how much do you earn ? When do you need to move by ? I have a few properties for you ! They show properties that are out of budget and then on top of it you make an offer which isn’t bad but most times rejected. They show properties just to hit targets for their daily goals! You are just a number. When it comes to guarantors some agents aren’t even sure who you can use as a guarantor or which is frustrating. I’ve had a whole month and abit wasted of my time with foxtons. When you try to get in touch with your agent they ignore you for hours on end and then get told they are all on viewings it’s really unprofessional, you barely get a call back. Thanks to foxtons my search starts again. Agents wasted my time and could have left me and my kids homeless. Would i recommend them no. Very misleading company.

I've recently started renting from Foxtons. They are both the letting agent and the managing agent. I have never paid so much for such a bad service. None of the extractor fans work, my heating doesnt work, the curtain rods are bent and now one has fallen off & luckily no one got hurt because they have taken so long to resolve the issues. I'm wondering is this even legal?

As a landlord (don't hate me!) paying for a managed service, they tried to charge me £90 + vat to fix a meter door with two cable ties. This is typical, and I have to chase them repeatedly for everything. My tenants and I deserve better.

I had an incredibly unfair and unprofessional experience with the Foxtons Deposits Team. We moved out in October 2025, yet it took five months for any clarity regarding our deposit, a delay that felt like a tactical move to strip us of our right to provide counter-evidence.

He also met us for a 2nd viewing the following day - helping us to make a decision to submit an offer. I am a first time buyer in the uk and decided to go via Foxtons. My experience was really really good. Shaun was extremely helpful in explaining me the transaction formalities and was with me in every step of the way to ensure the purchase was completed on time and to my satisfaction. The solicitors he recommended were first class and they were key in helping me achieve the purchase on time. End to end my transaction was completed in 3 months time which is far superiors compared to average time of 6-8 months. I have disturbed shaun late in the nights on WhatsApp to which he responded patiently and kindly. He liaised with solicitors, seller and mortage advisor to help me over and beyond. Millie was very helpful in showing me the property multiple times. I visited the property around 6 times and Millie accomodated even last minute requests. I've been dealing with least 10 agents in past 6 months while looking at the property and can say that Millie is the best in my experience. Overall nothing short of a 5 star rating. Hello. We were looking for a flat and have been contacted by Katarina. We also have been in contact with Sally. First of all they didn’t listen what we were looking for and showed us what they wanted, obviously the expensive ones, way more expensive than what we asked. After a while, they finally accepted to show us only the flats fitting our criteria. After some troubles, we found one that was free. They promise us a quick reply on the next day. But we had to wait quite a lot without any news. Anyway, we can understand that they have a lot of work. But then we got other problems. They asked us many papers but they registered us with a wrong email, so we were not able to access it. Finally they understood and registered us again with the correct one. We gave all the papers and money and got the definitive positive answer for the flat. We were happy... until we got the keys and opened the door. We realized that when they made the video call visit, they took care to not show the floor of the flat, and we understood why. The flat was pretty dirty and the floor was quite damaged. We were upset because it’s very dishonest, but we had to take it anyway because it was already too late for us and we needed a flat, but I think it was not professional. To make you understand, it was so dirty that we had to go sleep at a hotel the first night until we finished cleaning. That is really disappointing when you trust a professional and he ends up using you to get his money. Plus it was useless because if they showed us the truth, we would have asked for a cleaning and some work for the floor but we would have taken it anyway because we liked the flat location. We are really disappointed by them and I had to say it because I hope it will force them to be more honest, and I hope nobody will experience the same problems. So before you sign, be very careful and visit it for real, a video can hide a lot. And know that once you get the key, they will let you down, they will not help you with anything, they will not reply to you, the only thing they will do is send you a reminder every month to pay the rent. There are many estate agents who make all the the promises in the world, big statements and then there are estate agents who let their actions / work do the talking. Shaun Bailey and his team are some of the most competent, courteous, diligent and attentive professionals we’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. After 2 failed attempts with other local estate agents our property had been on the market for a few months, with little or next to no interest. We weren’t sure about the fees which was our initial reservation, but you really do get what you pay for with Foxtons. Highly recommend and I wouldn’t think twice about using them again even in an area outside their jurisdiction.
