Having had very poor experience with Harrogate Estate Agents recently, I have been delighted with the service and professionalism displayed by the Carter Jonas Harrogate (residential). Not only has my property been sold for the asking price, Alistair, Alison and the team actually did what they said they would do, which is so unusual in this day and age. The entire process has been managed from property details, all viewings and final protracted negotiations. I have worked in the property sector for 10 years. In both my work and personal life I have had experience of poor estate agents on more than one occasion. That being said, my experience with Carter Jonas was nothing but positive. I think the key is the fact that one person deals with your transaction constantly throughout the process. Amy is experienced, professional and efficient and cut through the procrastination that conveyancing is full of. We achieved a completion in 27 days, and that was down to persistence from both parties, but also from Amy. Carter Jonas are not a high volume agent, and it shows. You are not a number and you feel your business is valued. I would not hesitate in using them as a purchaser or vendor in the future.

Estate agents generally have a bad name in today's society and many don't appreciate their value in an incredibly saturated market. There's no shortage of choice when deciding who to list your property with, especially given the recent surge in online "agents" such as purple bricks and tepilo that seem to offer their services at a fraction of the usual cost associated with selling a house. But when selling your property, I believe you need to form a partnership with your agent(s) where a trusting, honest, professional and personal relationship prevails. You get all of this from Carter Jonas, Harrogate. They may charge more than their competitors but the local knowledge and level of expertise they possess, particularly Alistair and James, is second to none. Selling your home can be (and definitely was) an emotional process but Alistair and James seemlessly remove this emotion by dealing with each step of the long and inevitably laborious process with professionalism and assurance. They earn every penny of their fee and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Carter Jonas, Harrogate. Special mention to Amy too, who contributed to the process with her charm and fun personality - she's a star!

We recently sold our property with Carter Jonas and I have nothing but praise for the service I received. Without exception every one I dealt with was friendly, helpful, calm and professional although special mention to Simon Wright and Alison Bulmer who were my main contacts. Once we had sold (very quickly) Simon told me that his work was just starting and true to his word, I was kept informed every step of the way. I had advice and support and updates and never felt that I was just left to get on with it by myself. In summary, I received the service you hope for but sadly, rarely seem to experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

We had 3 independent valuations on our property and were initially concerned as the Carter Jonas valuation was much higher than the others. We decided to go with Tony’s advice and after only 2 weeks on the market accepted an offer just under the asking price. We had to deal with a difficult purchase process, however Tony assisted at all times and we managed to exchange within 8 weeks. If renting out a property I wouldn’t go with this agent. I enquired about a property and was told that it was too far for them to travel (although they have it listed online). I was told I’d be contacted twice and wasn’t. I’d be upset if I was the landlord and potential tenants had this issue.

She was always on hand with good advice and helped us through what is always a stressful experience with great efficiency and empathy. We have been delighted with the service and delivery from Carter Jonas, and specifically James Spencer, who managed our property sale. From the moment we had our first conversation, we were pleased with the speed of response, practicality of the discussions and "does what it says on the tin" approach. We discussed options for the marketing process with James and the solution we worked to delivered a sale within 36 hours - no sign ever went up outside our house. James didn't delegate the small stuff - he rolled his sleeves up, always offered views and was spotlessly on time. Whenever he was out of the office, we were well covered with other team members who picked up the baton smoothly. When we hit a couple of challenges, James was proactive and pragmatic about what needed to be done, and he got on and did it. We have moved often, including around the world, and it is a rare thing to find an estate agent you really trust with their view and delivery - we found one this time, and would use Carter Jonas again and request to have James lead the process. Thank you - it's a stressful process selling and moving, and it's hugely valuable to be working with someone you trust who is professional and organised.
