When deciding we wanted to buy in the area, after being burned by past experiences elsewhere, we took our time to find an agent we wanted to work with. We did lots of research across all agents and Whittaker and Co stood out - local, personalised, family like business - so we decided to go with them. They found a selection of properties available for us and moved quickly in working with our schedule to arrange viewings. When we found a house we loved (the first one we saw!), Gabe took his time to answer all our questions and Laura ensured the transaction went through seamlessly - which it did. When we picked up the keys and met the team in person, we further saw how amazing they are. The little gift bag was wonderful too! Truly - thank you. It does make a difference and your efforts are appreciated. Highly recommend!

We viewed numerous houses with Whittaker and Co while searching, and each person we met was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about both the house and the wider property market in Harpenden. They really came into their own after we agreed the purchase. A massive shout-out to Gilly who is mega organised and was far more "on it" than our own agent, chasing when it wasn't her job to chase and keeping us sane with her good humour! We're totally convinced the purchase wouldn't have gone through without her. Whittaker and Co were a better estate agent to us than our own agent, and even though we weren't their client, it felt like we were. When we come to sell we will sell through them without a shadow of a doubt.

Ken & co recently sold our family home and it was a thoroughly pleasurable experience. Importantly they got the exchange across the line in time to allow us to secure a rental where choices were scarce. We went to a prestige national agent at first and they came back with a seriously ill informed set of recommendations. We used Whittaker & Co to sell our property in Harpenden based upon, firstly, the great reputation they have and secondly, the satisfaction of using a local, independent and knowledgable firm. They certainly lived up to their reputation and even though the first buyer that pulled out at just before exchange (for their own reasons), Whittaker’s found a new buyer within a day and the sale went through seamlessly, viewing to completion in under 2 months (with Christmas in between). On both occasions, the house sold within one day of being on the market. I can highly recommend their service.

Whitaker’s are un-arguably in our opinion the very best estate agents! From the outset we were impressed by the enthusiasm and professionalism shown by Ken when he came to value our house and discuss his proposal for selling it. Once given the instruction, the well oiled wheels of the whole team ensured a swift transition to a successful offer. One might think their job was done, but actually it had only just begun. We were really grateful for the efficiency of Gilly (and the rest of the team) in pro-actively guiding the ridiculously protracted pathway from offer acceptance to exchange of contracts and finally to completion. But for Gilly’s diligence in negotiating between all the parties involved, acting as a valuable communication link the whole chain might have fallen apart. In our experience Whitaker’s professional involvement and value for money beats hands down the involvement of the solicitors (and I cannot honestly say that has been true in previous house moves with different agents). I am only sorry we have moved away from the area so will not have the opportunity to use their services again , but we have no hesitation in recommending them wholeheartedly to friends and relatives and anyone else wanting a very positive house moving experience.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value
