Waitress hasn’t informed us that we can only pay by card, no cash is accepted in this place. Food was average and expensive. Waitress has very long fake pink nails and was holding plate with nails nearly in avocado toast - instead of using tray.ServiceDine inMeal typeBrunchPrice per person£20, 30Food: 2Service: 1Atmosphere: 1

During our recent visit, there were delays in receiving our drinks and food, leading to frustration among several other patrons. One of the servers appeared overwhelmed and did not handle a customer complaint professionally. There was also some dissatisfaction regarding the service charge, although one staff member, the Italian front-of-house person, tried to ensure a smooth experience.ServiceDine inMeal typeLunchPrice per person£30, 40Food: 3Service: 1Atmosphere: 1Recommended dishesBanana Bread, Kimchi Eggs

Completely overrated. The food was ok. The coffee is fine. They didn’t have the one and only child option they had on the menu (a smoothie). The staff took forever and were not particularly friendly. I was made to pay by QR Code and they added a 12.5% service charge!!! For what??? There was basically no service since you order and pay by QR-code. Very disappointed!!!Food: 3Service: 1Atmosphere: 2

Lunch was nice, but lots of service issues (wrong drink, things missed but still on the bill). Considering it’s £5 for a latte you’d hope for more. Also they charge 12.5% service as you would expect but then also charge each person to pay online and then also ask for another tip on top of the 12.5%! Pretty outrageous even for central London.Meal typeLunchPrice per person£10, 20Food: 4Service: 2Atmosphere: 4

I gave the service a 5 because Rosie was so damn sweet and attentive. The food gets a 3 because they served me pancakes without any maple syrup. When I asked for maple syrup, I noticed they charged me £1.50 for it. Cardinal sin- never serve pancakes without maple syrup. It’s unacceptable. The pancakes were good, but cold. Even colder by the time I got my maple syrup. Was a little disappointed since I’ve been looking forward to visiting place. Farm Girl is an Australian-inspired cafe and restaurant located in South Kensington, London. The cafe is known for its healthy and delicious food, as well as its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I recently had the opportunity to try Farm Girl for the first time, and I was impressed with the food. I had the Green Turkish Eggs, which are poached eggs served on a creamy sauce made with warmed spinach, leek & olive sauce topped with Greek yoghurt, dill zhoug, pine nuts and Aleppo chilli flakes, all served with toasted sourdough. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the sauce was punchy and flavourful. The yoghurt (along with the dill zhoug) added a touch of freshness, and the pine nuts provided a nice crunch. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Farm Girl. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very inviting. I would definitely recommend Farm Girl to anyone looking for a nice relaxing meal in South Kensington.ServiceDine inMeal typeBreakfastPrice per person£10, 20Recommended dishesGreen Turkish EggsVegetarian optionsVegetarian dishes on the menu...Kid-friendlinessFamily friendly...

Very slow to be seated even with plenty of empty tables. Food had no taste, no flavour at all. The sausage seemed to have been boiled and was wet and left a nasty taste in my mouth for hours. The flat bread and scrambled egg were wet. Just horrible food. Iced tea was out of a can but priced like it was fresh. Had to wait 10 minutes and ask 2 people for milk for my coffee. And they charged an automatic service fee! £40 for disgusting brunch for 2! Will never recommend this chain. 1 star because we can’t give zero.ServiceDine inMeal typeBrunchPrice per person£10, 20Food: 1Service: 1Atmosphere: 1

Hi there, thank you for your review and we are sorry you had a bad experience. Our sausages are cooked on our stove, we will report back to the chef on the taste but these are definitely not boiled. What is wrong with Ice tea from a can? We sell Marna Iced Tea and yes these are in a can and they are an amazing product. Service charge is optional as it says on our menus and on our card machines, apologies if you missed this. It sounds like Farm Girl is not a restaurant for you. Have a great weekend.

Took forever to take order and even tap water took us 2 reminders and about 15 mins to serve. Lack of silverware and needed reminder again for more. No highchair or booster seat for kids, so please don’t even consider if you have kids. Not a kid friendly place. Food portion is extremely small and tastes just like what you could make at home by yourself. Ordered a kid’s pancake (1) and it’s £6 and 15 mins for s smaller version of what you could have done at home for less than £1 and 2 mins. Banana & Almond Toast for £8.5 was daylight robbery. Smaller than a regular human being’s palm, you would be served with 2 below-par toasts with a quarter banana on top of each. My daughter could probably do a better job. The only possible slight positivity was the last dish which itself was okay. Nothing bad but also nothing deserving to mention. The coffees were mediocre to say the least. The extremely slow service and lack of attention to details, were more obvious with the unworthy food portions. Lastly, they would try to convince you to use QR code for payment, which has a “hidden” charge of about 13% unless you approach the staff and tell them a reason to have that charge removed. It’s worse than American’s tip culture as the latter is still mostly voluntary. Totally dumbfounded by how terrible the whole experience was and I would totally go all out to persuade people not to waste their time going.Meal typeBrunchPrice per person£10, 20Food: 2Service: 1Atmosphere: 2

Hi Louis, thank you for your review. We are sorry you were not satisfied. Our cafe was extremely busy today, so we do apologise for the slower service. I have notified the team. The size of our portions have rarely been an issue so we are surprised to read these comments. The kids pancake is much smaller, and yes you can make this at home, like most of our dishes. You can also ask to add a second pancake to this dish, but most children only eat 1. We do have boosters and high chairs available. We are sorry these were not offered to you. We have sent your review to our team as this is very useful information for them to learn and do better. We disregard your comment about hidden service charge as this is simply not the case. We have this noted on our menus and also on our payment devices, apologies if you missed this.

Absolutely abysmal service, I'm not sure how there are so many good reviews for this place. At points I was sure the staff were intentionally ignoring the customers. The place wasn't even busy, and was definitely overstaffed yet staff still stood around chatting instead of seating/serving customers. Actually saw a member of staff flip-off a customer that complained because he had stood around waiting to be seated when there were empty tables everywhere and staff were just walking past him! Coffee came out cold, then waited ages for my food which admittedly did taste nice but also came out cold. Just don't go, its not worth it. EDIT: I did not leave this review on the same day I visited, as much as the owner would like to grasp at straws below accusing me of lying. There are plenty of bad reviews for this place with people having a similar experience so please rest assured I have no nefarious interest in marring the reputation of this cafe LOL simply giving my honest opinionFood: 2Service: 1Atmosphere: 2

Hi Frankie Your feedback is completely untrue and it is appalling that you think it is acceptable to leave a false review. Our restaurant was extremely busy yesterday, all day. We were also slightly understaffed and our staff did an amazing job seating everyone and attending to everyone. It is simply appalling that you can write such things, especially when our team work incredibly hard everyday. Please take your negative feedback elsewhere.

The issue with this restaurant is that, whilst the food is good, it is extremely frustrating as a customer to be regularly standing in the queue in front of the restaurant for over 20mins when there are 5-8 free tables right in front of you, and no staff member acknowledges your presence. I come here every month or so on the weekend (when I have more time), and this always happens and is a real downer on the experience. The restaurant would be far more profitable, and customers would be far happier if 1) the staff at least acknowledge that they were trying to sit you down as soon as possible, and 2) they actually improved their system of clearing tables and sitting people down regularly instead of in batches of 10. It’s almost like they do it on purpose because they have more than enough staff. Dissapointed. See today’s photo as an example.Food: 5Service: 2Atmosphere: 4

I do not recommend this place! We waited outside for over an hour, only to be told a table would be available in 5 minutes… Once seated, we ordered immediately. We NEVER received our order. After an hour's wait, the order hadn't even been taken and sent to the kitchen. We left. Unacceptable service, I absolutely do not recommend it.Meal typeBrunchFood: 1Service: 1Atmosphere: 2Wait time1+ hour

Been here twice now because we love the food and drink. However, I'm not too impressed with the service- with both visits we waited approximately 25 minutes to be seated and in both instances quite a few tables would clear up, but noone was being seated. The waitress / server / hostess (I don't know- but the lady with the short brown hair) was being very abrupt and seemed irritated with having to do the basic job of being kind to customers and placing people at tables. Just not impressed - it costs nothing to be nice.ServiceDine inMeal typeBrunchPrice per person£10, 20Food: 5Service: 1Atmosphere: 5

Hot chocolate was the worst I have ever had in my life. Literally zero flavour and it cost £4.50. Don't go near this place. Service was nice enough but horrendous drinks. I don't know how I can reply to your post so I will edit this comment and hope you can see it. The issue was not sweetness. I would have flagged it up when I was there but I didn't have time as I got my drink to go. I think you had a problem on your end as I was essentially served a cup of hot water with some milk and I was with someone else who confirmed it. What I received was definitely horrendous and I'm sure you would have rectified it if I was able to go back. Unfortunately all I could do was leave this review to showcase my experience for other potential customers. Wish you all the best and I hope you can take my experience constructively.Price per person£1, 10Food: 1Service: 3Atmosphere: 1

Hi Oliver, thank you for your feedback and we are sorry you didn't enjoy our hot chocolate. This is our most popular drink (excluding coffee of course) so it surprises us to read that you think we serve "horrendous drinks". A little unfair to write that considering you only tried 1 drink on our menu. Our hot chocolate is made with raw cacao and hazelnut milk, perhaps it wasnt as sweet as you were hoping?

We have been ignored for 15-20 minutes by at least 4 members of staff regardless of where we were (waiting next to the 'please wait here to be seated' A board & or when we sat at a table in desperation), while staff could clearly see us (one of them turned of the heater above our table and the other cleared dirty glases); there was no smile, any sort of acknowledgement or 'someone will be with you in a minute'. After 15-20 minutes I approached one of the servers and asked how we go about ordering, to which she rudely started interrogating us asking who sat us down at this table, as we were not sitting correctly - we've added a third chair to the table. We offered a solution to move it away, to which she said that, anyway, she has to first sit down/ accommodate people queuing next to the A board. We explained that we came before all these people and there was no queue at the time, so we weren't jumping the queue, to which she replied she needs to speak to the manager and disappeared... Needless to say we left, after such a poor service, really not interested what they had to offer, there are plenty of nicer (in all aspects) alternatives nearby.Meal typeOtherPrice per person£20, 30Service: 1Atmosphere: 1Wait time10-30 minSeating typeIndoor dining area, Outdoor patio / terraceKid-friendlinessNot kid-friendly staff

They didn't take our order, made us sit outside, and even after waiting for a while, they didn't come, and then they took down the tent. Since I was on my way back home, I didn't feel like fighting, so I just left and stayed at the cafe across the street, and they quickly set up their tent again. I wonder if there are any employees who are this openly racist, but be careful if you don't want to have an unpleasant experience. It happened last summer, but it suddenly occurred to me, so I'm leaving a review.Food: 1Service: 1Atmosphere: 1

A gem of decor and great service in South Kensington. Atmosphere is the strong point of this place, and the pastel tones really make it a wonderful spot to eat in. Service is considered and kind, making you feel right at home. Great savoury and sweet options, particularly for breakfasts, and drinks selections range from your basic coffees to more unique variations. The one fault of this place is its expensive menu: banana and almond butter toast with a long black (pictured) runs just over £10, and portions are on the smaller side. Regardless, this is a wonderful spot for a sweet, comforting bite to eat, and would be a fantastic date destination.ServiceDine inMeal typeBrunch
