Shockingly bad experience of having instructed the Muswell Hill branch to sell my flat. The worst lack of communication I have ever experienced from an estate agent. Routinely ignoring my emails, multiple times claiming that they couldn’t get in touch with the ‘buyers’ solicitor or the ‘buyer’, wasting 4 months of my time. Then ignoring my multiple requests for them to remove my property from the portals they had it advertised on, when I had moved to another agent.

The Muswell Hill office of Barnard Marcus advertised a flat which looked right for me, but then it was snapped up by someone quicker, and then, at another flat, the tenant refused viewings due to Covid fears, and there were difficulties at the third ... Throughout it all, whether problems with my application, or the disappointments just mentioned, Andrijana Tolic conducted the company's business with utmost courtesy, attention to detail, truly helpful guidance, and with extremely kind patience. In my experience of moving homes, and dealings with estate agents (speaking very generally), I've never quite known whether I was was being told the truth (and often not), and/or just the object of unscrupulous business practice, being little more than cannon fodder. Andrijana Tolic was from the outset, a real breath of fresh air in the business, and a serious credit to her employer. I was sincerely grateful for her quite excellent service.

I can't recommend Priya Patel as a lettings manager from Bernard Marcus highly enough. As a Landlord Letting is getting to be a difficult business and Priya has been immensely helpful, with the right to rent checks, credit and deposit checks and most importantly finding suitable tennents. My property is outside the area (by 5 miles) and Priya has managed to let it 2 years in a row even against other local agents. Although they charge a slight premium compared to others they are worth it due to the quality of tenants found in ampul time.

I’ve given them 1 star only because they let me out my contract a few weeks earlier than agreed, they are also polite. I had a property which was in good condition in a highly sought after area. I took on all their recommendations around marketing as this was my first experience of selling a property, I even lowered the initial asking price as recommended after a month and I had also stated that I was open to all offers and would be happy to negotiate with potential buyers. For the 4 months I was with Barnard Marcus I did not receive one offer! I had plenty of viewings, no offers, no feedback from any of the viewings. It was very clear that my property wasn’t being prioritised, it almost seemed as if potential buyers were being steered away because a number showed interest directly to me but resulted in no offer. I honestly believe that I wasn't taken seriously as a female judging by the way I was spoken to and dealt with. I attempted to complain in writing and there was still no improvement in service. Just to emphasise the stark contrast in the service offered to me, I’ve been with my new estate agent for 1 month, had 1 day of viewings and have already received an offer for the property which I will be accepting. They have been wonderful attentive, provided feedback and negotiated well on my behalf. I can appreciate the lessons that I have learned as a first time seller but I would never use Baranard Marcus again. They wasted my time, I lost out on my dream home because of their complacency and lack of care of service. I would not recommend them to any first time/inexperienced sellers!NegativeProfessionalism

My partner and I were on the search for a one bedroom flat and we’d seen a lot of duds until Rob showed us one we loved, we knew it was a little too far away for us but we still loved it so much and Rob was so lovely and helpful throughout the whole process he was really rooting for us to get it and was really cooperative!
