We are sorry you feel this way Tracey. Clearly, in a public forum we cannot go into any significant detail on what likely underpins your review, but i can see we have been in touch and explained the situation to you. Fundamentally, our role in assessing damages at the end of the tenancy is to compare/contrast the condition of the property at the outset and at the end; allowing for fair wear and tear and any agreed alterations or special items. Ultimately, it is the Landlords decision as to what to deduct from a deposit, not ours, and sometimes, Landlords disagree with our advice and propose different deductions to those we suggest, which is the Landlords Prerogative. Unfortunately, we cannot undermine the landlords case in deposit negotiations, by stating what is our view (as professionals) and theirs, and so it is often the case that the assumption is that it is us making all of the decisions. In instances where you are not happy with the deductions, the deposit scheme can act as arbitrators and i can see that we have given you the details you need to take this route if you so wish.

GoogleI have used many agents in the past and I can firmly say that Scott Maddison are one of the best I have ever used. Friendly, professional and respectful staff, who actually made me feel like a person as opposed to many other agents who have just seen me as a tenant, lining their pockets. They have been extremely helpful through the pandemic too. I simply can not fault them. Not one member of staff has fallen below excellent in my dealings with them. Communication has been excellent and they have dealt with a very tricky situation with the upmost respect and professionalism. A real breath of freah air. GoogleApprox 3 to 4 years ago we sold a house through this company in Balls Chase Halstead Essex. Where do I start. Arrogant owners of this business. No communication, totally beyond them, You had to go through office, then if lucky were placed to a ( VERY NICE POLITE semi- retired GENTLEMAN ). He really tried his best to help. I felt once you had signed up. They had achieved their goal. ANOTHER LISTING!. The owners were not concerned with their client. VERY VERY bad communication skills. ( Typical of a smaller town ). These two guys ( Owners ) do not have their clients interest at heart. There are other real estate agents in Halstead whom I would take this review to. See if they can do better. I also recommend taking this review with you to Scott Madison, See their excuses why I wrote this review..
