I have just moved to my second consecutive flat with Foxtons, which says how happy I was with the services provided. Adele Hand was the agent helping me and she was simply incredible. She quickly grasped the type of property I was looking floor and was able to find just the perfect one. I will surely go back to her if I need to rent again. Highly recommend talking to her if you need help in the Hackney area.

Terrible experience

Non-existent communication. Viewings done by an unprepared team: didn't know level of service charge, exposure, if the appliances were new or not, size of the flat or rooms. One claimed we had replaced the kitchen (we hadn't), another that the Hue Lights we installed were staying in the flat for the buyer (we never said that).

Well where can I begin? Kayla was so amazing and she cared so much about ensuring all my property needs was fulfilled. She was so helpful, understanding and kind. Honestly best person and very understanding. I have bad experience in the past with letting from other companies and they seem to be money hungry or rush you. However Kayla isn't like that. She is people focused and delivers a service like no other. Absolutely fantastic. Kayla is one of your best assets. We need more people like here at Foxtons. I hope she goes a long way.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Very disappointed. I found a short let property on their portal myself, the agent (Amir Abbasian) kept suggesting either awful properties, or ones over my budget. They were very quick to call back and close the deal but once the deal was made, I never once was able to speak directly to my agent Olivia Taylor, or anyone from Foxtons again. Repeated messages and email queries went unanswered. Every two weeks a new person would be in touch and all my queries would be ignored. The property was nice and in good condition but i paid Foxtons 350 pounds for the end of tenancy clean, and was slapped with a 600 pound cleaning claim on my deposit. The property was never cleaned and my landlord claimed the charges from my deposit. at least a dozen emails later, I still don't have a protection document number for my deposit. I was told my deposit was protected. I ws told I would be provided an inventory upon moving in. I was told the place would be cleaned at the end of my tenancy, for which i paid. None of the above happened. Still waiting for part of my deposit to be returned, even though they said it was transferred three weeks ago and should take 5 to 7 days to be credited. I've settled the dispute with my landlord now, even though it is extortion, but it seems even he was being cheated by Foxtons.

Foxtons Hackney acted very quickly in identifying our key criteria for our ideal home and provided several suitable locations for us to go and see. A large of part of this was down to Rav who is very personable and got a great understanding of our needs. A pet peeve of mine is for an estate agent to let you into a property and just wait for you to finish, Rav was there to offer his opinion, point out key features and welcomed our feedback in order to further narrow down our search. Will happily use Foxtons and Rav again

Jake was unbelievably amazing with selling our flat in Hackney! It was always positive and very smiley and never doubt it would manage to sell it, even with a market a bit stagnant at that point. Foxtons Hackney have been absolutely fantastic to work with as a first time buyer. I had super fast and responsive support from Emilia and James in particular. Emilia was there to show me the property multiple times, always accommodating my schedule. We were able to move very quickly too, going from viewing to under offer in less than 48 hours over a weekend, and then from there to close and exchange in only two months. Both James and Emilia were patient and detailed in explaining all the steps to me to make sure I have the full picture. Feeling very excited, thanks again to their team! You guys rock!

I feel that the experience was negative

I put my flat up for sale with my Foxtons, I was going to go with another agent but they were very pushy and said how they managed to sell better than anyone so I went with them. I was under the impression my flat would go straight up but after I signed the contract it took them 2 weeks to take photos and put them up, in the meantime they put up a video of the flat from a mid-term inspection where it looked absolutely disgusting. I had never seen this video and I don't see why it would be allowed to be put up without my permission, I asked for it to be removed, they didn't and it took them nearly the 2 weeks to remove it. The photos they took were adequate but not particularly great, I was pretty disappointed. I felt that the price was extremely over inflated (like all their prices) but respected they knew better than me, but when every single person gave feedback that it was way overpriced and no one showed any interest I became quite embarrassed. I found it very hard to contact my sales agent and just gave up most times after leaving numerous messages. I heard from my agent 10 times more before I signed with them than I did during my contract. When I gave notice 28 days before the end after having no interest, I was reminded how they are the number one and warned that going to another agent would not solve the issue. Their commission is so much more than everyone else but I feel my experience with their sales agent was extremely poor and I can't believe I had no interest in my nice flat. I feel I made a mistake going with them and would caution anyone thinking of them. Also I rented my flat with them for nearly 2 decades and my last tenant emailed them notice which they said they did not receive until the next day so they extended the end date to one day beyond the end of the month, they then charged me a management fee of £9 for the one day (and she paid £1 something rent for that one day). I will never rent with them again due to the complete lack of transparency with regards to money. (As for the excuse that the housing market is quiet I put my other property up for sale at the same time and it sold within 2 weeks, but then again the photos were really good and the price was reasonable).

Do not rent through Foxtons

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.

Absolute disaster of an agents :( I tried to be so polite and understanding, but their agents just don't care, disrespectful to my time and are soooo painfully slow. With all the issues we have even my landlord decided to switch to another agency. I will also never rent from them again. Avoid to save the nerves. They do not uphold their company mission and create bad reputation for a whole industry. I know there are good companies and agents, just not this one.

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons. We were left without proper cooking facilities for 25 days, which had a major impact on our daily life and forced us to spend extra money on food. A functioning cooker is a basic part of any home, yet this was not handled with the urgency it deserved.
