Fuse box was burning and nothing was done after reporting several times, had to call fire brigade 2 days later, whereby they confirmed it was still a massive fire risk (Truepennys did not act when 15 people’s lives were at risk due to a serious fire hazard). I was put in a temporary room with no power, light, heating during cold temperatures outside (I was freezing - -1 degrees outside) - and instead of helping they ceased to act on my behalf, and cancelled the contract. This left me with no one to communicate with, as they refused to speak to me on the phone from thereon after. I was left in a flat with no power and me and my girlfriend had to sleep at a friend’s house, as it did not seem safe but TruePennys didn’t care. The directors refused to speak to me after agreeing to call me back 5 times - truly shameful and Truepennys should be really disappointed with how they treat people. They never reply on emails or on the phone. They are now refusing to release my security deposit and ignoring emails. This along with mice issues, bathroom smells and dodgy fridges and ovens which were reported for the entirety of our tenancy and nothing was done. However, not responding to a life threatening incident is disgusting by all accounts.

Selling a house in Greenwich in Spring 2024 is challenging to say the least. However John and Madison provided what turned out to be accurate initial advice and after a short time on the market (and after several viewings) a very good offer from a buyer with a 4 week deadline. They both assisted us through the stressful (due to the tight timescales) selling process and we are delighted that we managed to sell and move to our new home. I can thoroughly recommend John and Madison who will get to know your property and provide a first class service from start to finish. Thanks guys!!

Called their Beckenham branch on the 12th Nov to enquire about a rental property that had just come on the market and was told by a lady there that a message would be passed on to lettings. Nobody ever got back to me. Chased it up on the 13th and was told by a lady there (same lady?) “we only have one lettings negotiator covering Beckenham and Bromley. Rest assured you will get a chance to view the property”. Again, nobody ever got back to me. Today (19th) I see that the property has now been let! So thanks to their incompetency I’ve now missed out on a potential tenancy. Utter shambles and I’m going to blacklist this agent if this is the level of service afforded to prospective tenants.

Me and my partner have just signed for our first rental property together with Truepennys. After no luck with both private landlords & other estate agents being less than communicative or saying they would not accept self employed people, truepennys made the process very easy with clear instruction from both them and the third party referencing team. After being back in the UK from a contract onboard ships, we viewed the property on the Tuesday and the Thursday of the next week we were given the keys. Unreliable agency! I had an appalling experience with Truepenny’s Property Consultants. Their severe mismanagement has caused me significant financial and emotional distress. I gave proper notice under my tenancy’s break clause, found a replacement tenant who passed references, paid fees, and even signed the contract. But Truepenny’s lost the signed paperwork, apologised for it, and then later denied ever receiving it. Because of their incompetence, the replacement tenant withdrew, leaving me unfairly exposed to rent liability for a property I had lawfully vacated. Despite repeated communication, evidence, and even their own admissions of error, they have refused to take responsibility. Instead, they shifted all the burden onto me, forcing me into legal proceedings. This agency cannot be trusted with important tenancy matters. If you value professionalism, accountability, and proper handling of your documents, avoid Truepenny’s at all costs. Their negligence has not only cost me thousands of pounds but also months of unnecessary stress.

Great experience selling through Truepennys Lordship Lane! From beginning to end the team worked HARD on this transaction as we had two first time buyers pull out due to economic conditions. I have moved to London, had a very difficult time finding residency as housing market is overheated. Eventually, I found a property, decided to move forward. Process was complex for foreigners. Yet, this location of Truepenny's managed to secure the deal and to close it. Meriem and all of its members were genuinely helpful; they really try to help you out. I was actively looking for a three bedrooms in late last year to January when I came across Truepenny's Estate Agent, Greenwich in mid January 2023 on Zoopla. I called and Valencia picked up and told me someone is already undergoing referencing for the same property, however, she will reach out to me if anything changes. Trust me, I didn't believe her. Few days later, she actually did got back to me and my renting process began. Since that very day till date, the team has been really supportive, they carry you along with every stage of the process, and are willing to assist where needed. I highly recommend Truepenny’s. Million thanks to Valencia Josephs who did a great job. She was very approachable and helpful throughout the process. She is also knowledgeable about the area and she shared with me some of her thoughts and opinions which I appreciated a lot. The process and handover went smoothly. Thanks to Valencia - she truly is an asset to the team. If ever I’d rent again, or buy a property in the area, I’ll go to Truepenny’s first, look for her and enquire. Every time I have concerns or queries, she helps me without hesitation. I remember an agent from a different letting agency in Petts Wood as I was expanding my flat hunt and our experience was unpleasant. Firstly, the agent broke the house key as he tried to open the door of the property, hence had to cancel the appointment and asked us to reschedule which was annoying as I was so busy, only to find out that he took us to the wrong property (I went to the right property but was told initially that it wasn’t the right one). Secondly, he had this vibe that he was not enjoying his job. He didn’t even care to show us around. We showed ourselves around the flat instead. Even if we liked one of the properties he showed us, we decided not to make an offer because we felt that he didn’t deserve to get some credit as we didnt feel valued as his client. Luckily, I did not experience the above with Valencia/Truepenny’s. Also, when we visited their office to submit our proof of ID/passports, everyone there was so nice and accommodating. As for Mariem, our property manager, every time I have queries, she attends to them promptly. I feel great about them so far. I know that I can trust them and that they will do everything to assist me because they value me. Thank you Truepennys Greenwich. Keep up the good work. I hope you continue to help prospective tenants or home owners to find their new home.

Had the most horrendous treatment from Senior Consultant David Caruth. All interactions were blunt and borderline rude, and initially of no consequence to me as it’s the property I was interested in. I came in from Amsterdam especially to view this property, he first asked me “can’t you come earlier” - I offered him several dates and times, and he confirmed 3pm on Monday, today. I arrive at the property, try David on the phone twice - it was off. I phoned the office, his colleague complained that his calendar is not viewable and confirmed he was out. He phoned me back a few minutes later - no apology, no acknowledgement of the error, but full of disrespect and attitude. claiming he never confirmed the appointment and doesn’t have access to the unit. He kept repeating it as if I was hard of hearing or something, argumentatively, claiming it was my fault somehow. If you’re trying to sell your house, you’ll never be able to with David and if you’re trying view a house, don’t bother - you’ll receive abusive treatment from David who will waste your valuable time without consequence! Please avoid Truepennys for your own piece of mind!
