Oh god, avoid avoid!

where to begin, first they lied about things that would be done before moving in, they wernt. they never delt with any repairs at all, two months later still nothing was done so i decided to end the tenancy after having never spent a single night there. one month later and have had not heard a word regarding the return of the deposit. I would strongly advice to avoid them at all costs, every step with has been a nightmare and cost me circa 4 grand with nothing but wasted time to show for it.

we had quite a time from march 2020, house sold. covid -19 put a halt to sale After covid-19 we tried to sell with financial restrictions several people had to pull out of sale We had reached a low point and i called off the sale. The staff at Slater Hogg Greenock did as they had done through the 6 month before an after covid-19 rallied round, supporting us. In particular a Catherine McKean who managed to get me to see sense well done Catherine, because of your help we sold the house 3 days later. Terrible customer service

Trying to sell our property I call the Greenock office several times, left messages but I was not called back. Decided if this was a benchmark of responsiveness I don’t really want them representing me. The risk of missing or upsetting potential buyers was quite frankly unacceptable. I’m baffled how this old, strong branded company fails on the very basics of customer service. We have gone with a competitor and the service is night & day

Avoid this company if you are selling a…

Avoid this company if you are selling a property. I am a cash buyer found a property I was interested in. It was not under offer and was going to a closing date in two days time. The estate agent claimed they were too busy to show anyone else around the property, despite me giving anytime availability. At the same time everyone in the office was laughing and joking obviously not that busy then. The seller could potentially be losing out thousands because of their actions.

My wife and I sold our house through the greenock office and I’ve got to say how blown away by the outstanding service We received from the whole team . Catherine , Nicola & Gillian in particular were very good!! Within 2 weeks we had between 5-6 really interested couples through the door , and a couple of weeks later we had accepted a great offer . This was vital for us as we needed a quick move due to the kids starting a new school etc . Absolute first class service and I would send any of my friends and family to this office in particular due to the personal , quick & amazing service .

Feedback: I was added to their database in November, have been pestered repeatedly by multiple members of staff to push me to buy. Firstly, had a viewing of a flat by Georgina, she didn’t really want to chat and more or less wanted me in and out. She also repeatedly called me the wrong name which I later had to correct her. After around a week, she called to ask if I’d made a decision. I advised her (again) that I wasn’t going to be making a decision till the beginning of December. I then spoke with Catherine who called me to see if I’d made a decision and advised of an experience I had four years ago with the mortgage advisor, was more or less called a liar on the phone that this never happened after the mortgage advisor slammed the phone down on me when I couldn’t attend an appointment. I’ve been sent two properties and because I haven’t arranged a viewing now I’m being asked if I want to be removed from their database? Why? I haven’t bought anything yet? 😂 Do you want my business or not? Your practices are from the Stone Age. Give up the hard sell, it’s arrogant, aggressive and puts people off.

Just sold our house through Slater Hogg, Greenock and was impressed by the level of service. The quote from David for selling was the most competitive with Home Report for free and once signed up the level of service didn't drop. Catherine managed our sale and was so easy to work with, always there at the end of the phone (or called me back quickly) every time I needed her input. Gillian, was also very helpful too. We were also happy with the quality of the photos and video and how quickly we went from agreeing to sell with Slater Hogg to when it went online for sale to selling our house. All in all a very good team effort. We didn't need to use any of their other services.

Fantastic service from slater hogg. They provided my home report as part of the cost of the sale and the girls in the office were very friendly. My property sold STCM within 5 weeks and I got the full home report value, which really isn’t easy in this market. Shocking sales tactics

Viewed a house they were selling and put in an offer. During a conversation it was inferred that the seller would only accept our offer if we sold our house through them. I asked if that's what they meant in case I mis-heard and they repeated it. I questioned if this would not present a conflict of interest and was told no. Checked with another estate agent and they agreed with me (we weren't selling through them so it wasn't just to get our business). Wouldn't touch Slater Hogg with barge pole!

Inconsiderate or sheer incompetence

Inconsiderate or sheer incompetence. I have sent several contact forms requesting the home report for a property I'm interested in purchasing, that was all. The first time, they called and left a message asking me to call them back. No explanation as to why they were calling and not sending me the home report. I then sent a second one explicitly stating that I did not want a call. This was ignored and they called anyway. Still giving no information as to why they were calling or why they wanted me to call back. All I wanted was the home report. This makes me feel like they are hiding something or are looking to pressure me into something since this is far easier by phone than by email. I would recommend to avoid them and their parent Countrywide as well.
