Doug Whybrow was great throughout the process, moving home can be very challenging at times but the process was in good hands.

This was my first time of letting a property. From the moment I met Lisa I felt I had chosen the right person to guide me. Lisa was very polite and professional and helped me find the right tenant quickly so my lovely flat was not empty for long. I feel confident that everything is in hand and I would highly recommend her, thanks Lisa π β¦

I enquired about a property and was made to feel at ease right from the word go. Tom was very knowledgeable and helped me through all the referencing process concerns. I would definitely recommend Intercounty if you want a smooth and professional service.

We rented and purchased a
We rented and purchased a property from them. There were a catalogue of errors through the entire process. The worst being lies and lack of response. Mismanagement right down the chain. There wasn't one single person that I could regularly communicate with directly. Helping themselves to watch TV when they were there to take pictures of the rented property, moving personal items about. Telling me (upon the new purchase) the seller was going to put the property back on the market because I was taking too long to read through the contract, (this was about 4 weeks in). Then me finding out the seller knew nothing of this. Not conveying messages. Complete disinterest. Document system is a nightmare if you're trying to find specific details that Intercounty are not providing. The management company just requested me to pay Γ―ΒΏΒ½550 in 21 days accrued by the previous leaseholder, this was supposed to be taken from a retention fund, which (as a first time buyer) I knew nothing about. I asked one of the staff members a few days ago over the phone about this and she said there will be a fund. Looks like they may have left me out. The seller says they weren't asked. They have etched away at the very core of my being. In short of the damning indictment, please save yourselves the disservice if you're renting or purchasing a flat. Caravans are looking like a nice idea, maybe by the sea, or in the sea, far away from Intercounty.

After nearly a year, the
After nearly a year, the words "we won't discount our % commision because we're worth the extra" still ring in my ears. The initial flirtation with Intercounty in January was excellent. They gave the highest valuation, they had "their own" conveyancing team to handle the admin, they had a specialist sales progressor to deal with me day to day and then we had an offer of the asking price within 4 days. After that it went downhill fast. We accepted the offer in early February, but struggled to communicate with the conveyancing company and the sales progessor was rude and abrupt both by email and on the phone. We were an unusual sale as we were emmigrating and the dates weren't fully fixed, but we kept Intercounty and the conveyancers fully informed all the way. We presumed they would inform our buyer and their solicitor. We confirmed our date of emmigration in June, at this point we still hadn't exchanged. Intercounty and the conveyancers took 3 weeks to inform our buyer of our leaving date. Eventually on the day of exchange, days before we emigrated, the conveyancers said they had lost our signed contract. We finally sold the property a month after we'd left the UK and the change in exchange rate between us leaving and getting the money from the sale meant we lost over 10k. I would obviously advise against using Intercounty and their conveyancing company.

There were two properties in
There were two properties in which I expressed an interest. On my first appointment, the agent, Dan Brown, was late with an unkempt appearance and none too smart attitude to match. The second property I arranged to view at the weekend. On the morning of the appointment I phoned Intercounty to confirm the appointment. However, when I arrived at the property, there was no agent. Mr Brown did finally appear at the same time as a potential client with a later viewing. He proceeded to show this client around the property whilst myself and my son were ignored - the appointment was awkward and embarrassing. My offer on the property (although I wish I had walked away at this point) was not dealt with in a swift and efficient manner and it took any point of contact 48 hours in between, with myself being the instigator. I was promised that my interest would be handled by Joe on one occasion and when I called, not having heard from the agent all day, was told Joe was not in the office. In a nutshell, I would not recommend these Estate Agents to anyone looking for a smart and professional service. Thank goodness I found a property being marketed by another agent!
