Hi Harriet, We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. However, on this occasion we feel your comments are unjustified. Having been instructed to do so by your Landlord, the rental increase you received used the correct paperwork as directed by the government, it gave you the required amount of time (longer than a month) and your rent was increased in line with market value. Since your departure, we’ve successfully found new occupiers who are paying more than the figure your rent was increased to. We emailed yourself and husband within four days of your tenancy end date to notify you of our intentions with the deposit claim and did not try and keep your deposit. When we made a claim on behalf of your Landlord - which you rejected - the claim was then put to an independent adjudication service (which is authorised by the government). They are unbiased and are highly trained to deal with deposit disputes. This service deemed that the claim was valid and agreed that the condition of the property was extremely poor and required extensive repair work in almost every room. They subsequently awarded the Landlord around 85% of your deposit. Although I can appreciate this may be frustrating, if you wish for this not to happen in future I would recommend cleaning a property upon departure and ensuring damages are ‘made good’ upon handing back your keys. The money claimed from your deposit did not cover the damages you and your family caused to the property. To claim Farr & Farr are ‘money-grabbing’ is untrue. Farr & Farr will gain no financial benefit from the deposit dispute. As a company we never want to make claims against deposits and would love for every tenancy to end on good terms. Nevertheless, where significant damages have been caused, we will always act in the best interest of our Landlords and where needed, we’ll fight to seek fair and adequate compensation. All this aside, we would still like to extend our thanks for being a tenant of Farr & Farr Lettings and wish you all the best in the future. Farr & Farr Lettings

I have tried to contact you several times over the last few weeks to discuss your feedback in more detail. We have also sent an email but have sadly not heard back. I have however, had the pleasure of speaking with your husband George. He's informed me that he felt the communication he received from all our staff was fantastic and they were a pleasure to deal with. This was obviously lovely to hear. He then explained to me some of issues you faced with one specific contractor. We're happy to say that after an internal review, we can confirm that the contractor you had these issues with is no longer working on behalf of Farr & Farr Lettings. One of the main reasons for this change is because of the level of service they provided to yourselves. We take a great deal of pride in the work we do and the service we provide. The same is to be said of all our contractors. Although this does not change the past, nor the experience you received. I’m hopeful this reply can go some way to showing you that we take all feedback extremely seriously and that when there is a need to, we will take swift and appropriate action.
