I would genuinely consider the integrity of this company before you have any dealings with them. As of right now they’re helping Walmer Homes / Southworth Construction sell a number of properties at Peakdale Gardens in Glossop. The properties have been built by the shameful “Kiely” empire. They’ve featured on Cowboy Builders, Watch Dog and Rogue Traders. Certain members of this family have also been to prison. Do some research on: Harewood Associates, Walmer Homes, Prestige New Homes, Southworth Construction before you even think of looking at one of their dodgy houses. They commit fraud, steal people’s money, fold companies, get random people to front companies and be directors and build unsafe homes. Do some research. Simple Sales and Lettings were warned about all of this weeks ago, yet they’ve chosen to advertise properties on behalf of this horrible punch of people. Clearly they’re more interested in money than morals.

Avoid at all cost! Dishonest and rude staff. We rented a house in Glossop with them. When we first moved in, the house was filthy and the lounge, which was painted red looked unbelievably uneven and unsightly. We couldn’t believe at the time that someone would dare renting a property in such a state and claim that it had been cleaned. But we liked the area and decided to take it anyway. We repainted the lounge in a neutral colour (we asked permission) and cleaned the house thoroughly. When we eventually decided to leave, we wanted to pay them to come and clean the carpet (a service that they provide). We wanted to see the job so we asked them to come a few weeks before we left the house. An appointment was made but the man, who was supposed to come, never showed up (he cleans carpet and also works in the office). He did not get in touch to cancel, apologise or give any kind of explanation. Another member of staff came round to the house a few weeks later to show some people round and in passing she told us that the company cleaned carpets after tenants had left and that the man who cleans carpet had actually come round and had tried to call. Absolute lies. From that point on, we started to doubt their honesty and we asked to be present during the final inspection. The carpet-cleaner/estate-agent man was extremely rude on the phone to my partner when he asked to be present during the final inspection. He was condescending and generally unpleasant. He said that they did not allow tenants to be present during the final inspection and that to this day no one had complained about them deliberately damaging a property and claiming compensation to tenants. We left the house spotless but were charged over £90 for ‘cleaning’ and for having left some removal boxes in the shed (we thought they might be usedul for the new tenant). Would not recommend.

I have been a private landlord in the Glossop area for over 15 years and I have always handled my own lettings and management although as my portfolio grew I realised I could do with some help. I decided to use Simple lettings after a recommendation from a friend and true to the recommendation they have been brilliant, taking a very professional approach from the start and keeping both landlord and tenant fully informed of their responsibilities whilst helping free up a lot of my time to concentrate on other areas of my business. Terrible service from this company. We viewed a house or should i say were rushed around at break neck speed due to the estate agent running late, ridiculous when you consider that you are potentially spending a substantial amount of money. Never the less we put an offer in on the house in question and two weeks later we are still waiting for some kind of communication from them! A courtesy call at the very least wouldn't have gone a miss. Very unprofessional from beginning to end.

Firstly i have never rented through a letting agency so didn't know what to expect. Well I can honestly say that from start to finish my experience with Simple Lettings was fab. They were 100% on the ball, helpful and most importantly friendly. No matter how many questions I had (which was a lot) they were more than happy to help and very patient. Any emails i sent were answered that same day. Everything ran so smoothly even on the day me and my partner signed for the keys we were 15 minutes early (we arrived before the shops opening time) and they welcomed us in and made us a hot drink. Even with being early everything was laid out ready to sign. Id just like the thank the team for all there help and let them know that we are happy and settled in our new home. I would highly recommend Simple Lettings to anyone looking to rent/buy and already have to my family and friends. Thanks again :-)

If you're a landlord looking to rent your property I would suggest using an online agent rather than Simple Lettings - you get a much better service and also save money. The service throughout the 12 months was satisfactory, however, when we gave our notice (as per the agreement) to manage the property ourselves they ended the contract immediately - contractually wrong and extremely unprofessional leaving us completely in the lurch!! Don't let this happen to you!!

Wouldn't recommend renting from them from personal experience in the past as moving out was a nightmare as they tried to claim so much from us and held back our deposit which we need for deposit on our first house purchase but so glad the company holding our deposit found everything in our favour and gave us back our full deposit.
