I cannot recommend Shanta Letting enough. As a first time landlord, Mark and the team helped with absolutely every detail from the legal requirements to providing contacts for decorators and arranging for electrical works to be done. Their tenant vetting process is very thorough and as I result I had a fantastic tenant within only a few days of my property being advertised for rent. Communication has been excellent and as they are a smaller agency you definitely feel like you are receiving a very personal service which sometimes gets lost with the larger nationwide letting agencies. There is absolutely nothing I would change about the service I have received.

Mark Shanta of Shanta Lettings has been highly professional and very personable in all his dealings with me. He is completely up to date with current landlord/tenant/and agency legislation and offers a flexible package of services to suit each individual landlord. He happily and calmly offers help and support at challenging times (and all other times !). I highly recommend him and his services. This is a modern agency with a truly human approach to managing properties and looking after landlords and their tenants.

We rented a flat with Shanta Residential and had a very bad experience on moving out of our flat with regard to the return of our deposit. Shanta residential tried to claim £236 of cleaning fees to return the flat to a better state of cleanliness than it was when we moved in. My advice to future tenants with this company would be to take close up pictures of EVERYTHING even tiny little bits of fluff, as Shanta will do this when you move out and try and claim ridiculous amounts of money for very minor cleaning issues. We took our deposit dispute to safe deposit Scotland independent adjudication and instead of the £236 Shanta residential were trying to claim they only received £80 for ‘limited and modest cleaning issues’ (mostly things that we could not prove with pictures such as food smell in a kitchen cupboard) and we thankfully got the rest back. This was a long process for what is a lot of money to two young private renters, and, I’m sure not even a drop in the ocean to the landlord. But we are happy to be getting most of it back eventually. It’s a grim and all too common story that private letting agents/landlords will try and get as much money out of tenants as possible through obscene rent prices and unfair end of tenancy deposit claims. Shame on you Shanta Residential for being part of this trend.

Mark has been an excellent landlord over the past two years in which I have lived in one of his properties, I have found him to be very hardworking and trustworthy. Whenever I have a problem he is always very quick to respond, even if an issue arises during the weekend. Mark takes safety very seriously and ensures that all of his properties meet the standards required by law. Best landlord I've had by far- highly recommended!

We sold our flat in Glasgow using Shanta Residential and would highly recommend them. We thought we had a plan about how to sell but Mark politely steered us in another direction which undoubtedly helped us achieve a higher price and a quicker sale. The photographer was very polite, thorough and efficient. The online brochure was then prepared quickly and the flat was on sale in a very short space of time. Lucy was great at keeping us aware of all the times for viewings, rearranging them as necessary and relaying feedback to us. Cadae was particularly excellent when advising us about offers we'd received and how to progress. Everyone we dealt with was very friendly, professional and polite. They were always on hand to answer our questions and we really felt we were supported throughout the whole process. I'm told selling a property should have been a very stressful time for us but the team at Shanta really did make it all feel relatively effortless. Many thanks.

I would not hesitate in recommending Shanta lettings. Mark and his team provide first class service, clear and transparent information on costs, and have a great team of tradesmen if any work is required.
