Helpful, Efficient, & Kind.

Laura McTaggart from DJ Alexander has been a true gem during the early stages our move-in process. Her kindness and willingness to help has made the experience feel a lot more navigable, as she is incredibly efficient, addressing all our questions (which have been, on occasion, quite obvious or niche) very promptly. Laura’s support has been taking a lot of stress off our shoulders and therefore, both me and my flatmate are extremely appreciative of her work.

As someone who lets properties through this agency, I feel greatly assured to have consistent presences whom I can trust and deal with directly. Caroline Connelly has held her Property Manager position for years with aplomb! The transition from Fineholm to DJ Alexander was rather fraught at first (especially with the Edinburgh maintenance department), but now the fast staff turnover has settled, things are working out well and I am happy to stay with them, so long as we continue along these lines.

Wonderful service from the Edinburgh Lettings team. However, when it come to offer stage, everything was slightly mismatched and somewhat confusing for me as the person enquiring and wanting to live in the property. My offer was put forward despite being told we should wait for a document from my solicitor, being told my offer was fine and it was being sent over. I was then told it was looking like no to that property as the landlord had a lot of questions? I was not told what these questions were and absolutely no correspondence since. I can’t say my experience with the DJ Alexander Edinburgh Lettings team has been pleasant at all.

In praise of Kjartan Behm

I am writing this review specifically to praise one member of DJ Alexander's staff, namely Kjartan Behm, who, over eight years, has been far and away its most honest, keen, clear, sharp, witty, helpful, and direct member of staff. Tip-top fellow.The overall company, I'm not too fond of, it has a tendency towards hefty bureaucracy, and corresponds with the stick, rather than recognizing tenants are its business and pay its bills. But at times it has some excellent staff who break through the corporatese to actually get the work done.Kjartan stands out, however, as its finest example of a man getting the job done and being a tip-top human to boot, so chapeau to him indeed.He made everything from start to finish work.

The absolute worst company I have ever…

The absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with. Avoid them at all costs! Moved into our flat that had clearly not been cleaned with mould everyone and the floors not even been hoovered. After we moved out due to the disgraceful way we were treated (we didn’t have a shower for 3 months and DJ Alexander did not fix it), we have now been billed a £400 cleaning fee despite cleaning the flat from top to bottom before we moved out. They are clearly deleting reviews as I have never heard anyone say anything good about them.

Great Team!

We've just moved into our second DJ Alexander rental and once again, we've had a great experience. Yvonne Mathers arranged our viewings and provided an almost bespoke service by suggesting we considered an apartment we'd originally ruled out having only seen it online. It turned out to be perfect for us and we're so grateful to Yvonne for using her instincts to help us find the perfect home. We also had great service from the delightful Oliver (didn't catch his surname) on checkout from our old apartment, and our warmest thanks go to the star of the show, Gemma-Louise Mavor who walked us carefully and patiently through the process of having our deposit returned in full. We hope we don't have to move again anytime soon, but if we do, we'll come back to DJ Alexander for help. Thanks to you all - you're amazing!
