A pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Lauren was proactive and attentive throughout the process which was quick, easy, and stress free as a result. The support since the start of the tenancy continues to be of the same high standard.

I had little experience with house sales, but Julianne and Fiona were able to give me detailed advice on the best route for selling or renting my flat. I decided to sell, Sheena guided me through the sale process with a happy result. I couldn't recommend the team more!

Carol at Carin Letting Agency was extremely efficient in supporting me when I contacted her with a query. She responded quickly and gave me all of the information that I needed. Great customer service and nothing was a problem.

I have used Cairn for several years to manage my HMO portfolio and also to buy & sell properties through them. I have always found them to be responsive to clients needs and would not hesitate to recommend them for being the HMO letting specialist in the West End. My main contacts on a daily basis are Heather and Carolanne who are very professional and genuinely do go the extra mile to resolve any problems that arise - no matter the time or day they are always there to do what they can to help which in the letting game is important as issues don't just appear on a Monday morning. Overall a well managed and tightly run agency with knowledegable staff that I would highly recommend.

** update **: since another agent (thank you!) took over and after i've posted this, they have became more responsive and i am enjoying a better quality of service (as a tenant). I don't have any issues from 2021 onwards. Before that I have them two stars review reflect the fact that took them **over a year** to actually bring the proper person for a long standing flat issue. The old two stars review, definitely does not reflect their **current** quality, and I was asked to remove it. Instead i am choosing to keep this as a reminder to other people that you don't have to suffer privately to enjoy a quality of service. ** old review ** (2 stars, poor value, not responsive) I am living in a property managed by Cairn. My experience with them? Abysmal. If its broken lamp, they'll fix it right away. If it's something more complicated? Prepare to be ghosted. Please avoid them as your letting agents at least for Glasgow if you're renting.

I have had a positive experience with Cairn since the very start, from submitting a note of interest about a property, then applying online, to discussing my application with property manager Safa Khan, and through my settling in process. I was fortunate that the landlord was sensitive to my situation (coming from the U.S. to pursue a postgraduate degree) and my needs (a two-bedroom flat, washer, quiet area, a home for several years). All of my interactions with Cairn have been positive, and my million questions I have as I deal with a bit of culture shock and getting used to how things are done in Scotland and the UK generally, have always been dealt with swiftly and helpfully. It's been a pleasure working with Cairn and having someone like Safa be my main contact for any issues or questions I have.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

We started using Cairn's services in 2018 and have always found our main point of contact, Heather, to go above and beyond the expected level of service. Certainly beyond a level of engagement compared to other property rental service providers we use. We do not believe there is a better provider of letting services, particularly in managing HMO properties in Glasgow. Cairn's professionalism ensures that letting requirements and legal obligations are never compromised - and interests are protected whether a landlord or tenant. And from dealing with Glasgow City Council and HMO renewals, introducing off-market opportunities, assisting with renovations, and day-to-day management, our interaction and experience with the entire Cairn team have been faultless. Thank you for the excellent service. PS: Any landlord underwhelmed by their current property manager should contact Cairn. Ask for Heather. You will not be disappointed.

Dirty, smelly and broken. Three words that best described our flat when we moved in. Though Cairn assured us cleaners had visited, we doubt they actually did any work. Likewise many pieces of furniture, appliances, and windows were broken. Junk was left in several rooms and cupboards.

Overall a good letting agents so far. Lauren was very helpful/patient with me as a newcomer to the glasgow rental market. And though there were some issues at the start of our move, many were fixed as soon as possible.

Excellent, straight forward process dealing with Jenny for the whole transaction. Very pleased with sale price achieved. Marketing materials were professional and done really quickly.

Reluctant landlord is an understatement where I am concerned, however, through no fault of my agent and given the current market / climate, I was unable to sell my recent development and made the decision to let it out. Hannah explained the whole process to me and put my mind at ease throughout, finding me a great tenant who has moved in and is loving the place already. Huge thanks to all of the Cairn Sales and Letting teams for everything :)PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Worst agency ever. I do not recommend nothing that was guaranteed when renting was not fulfilled at home 1 night we flooded the neighbor from the bottom because people from this agency did not check the connection of the washing machine and the sink with the drain pipe. one of many problems with this apartment I lived there for 3 weeks and every day there were problems and people from cairn did nothing about it. Think twice before renting an apartment from this amateur agency.

PLEASE AVOID. If you're looking to rent, stay as far away as possible from this letting agency. Our two years at our property have been horrendous. Please note all positive reviews for Cairn on Google seem to be landlords. Not renters. From the first day, we walked in to the flat being left in an awful state, the bathroom tiles were literally black with mould, and furniture broken/left from old tenants not cleared (see attached pictures). From there, they took 1 1/2 years to actually fix the bathroom since first reported. We (5 tenants in an HMO property) were also left without hot water on multiple occasions, the longest of which being an entire month. Yet they still had the nerve to raise the rent every year, regardless of the awful state of the flat. The tenancy was filled with constant threats about how not filling out a fire alarm sheet, or wedging doors open could "make it a little harder getting the deposit back". We were sent MANY contractors throughout the year to deal with repairs who did absolutely nothing, or the bare minimum (1 layer of paint doesn't fix layers of thick mould Cairn), and when it came to our final deposit, our flat was left in a much nicer state than the flat on entry, we were still deducted £300 (reduced to £110 after complaints) for literally dust, and furniture left by previous tenants. Someone's deposit isn't some bargaining chip you can make a quick hundred off of. To top it all of, when we complained about the flat and its conditions (some windows literally wouldn't close in the middle of winter), the owner of the agency accidentally CCd us into an email chain of them making fun of our case and us personally. Maybe treat your customers right instead of passive aggressive replies and bad service. They're what make your business after all. The most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with.

Communication is terrible in this agency and some of the higher up staff have a poor attitude towards tenants. Slow response towards complaints and enquiries also. Not very impressed but not had a terrible experience. The flat was in pretty good nick when it was handed over to them though so for the small amount of time they've been in charge I feel like they've let themselves down. Heard similar from others too which is disappointing. Gave 2 stars as I recently had an enquiry dealt with efficiently and want to think they'll get a grip eventually.

This has got to be the worst company ever ! if i could give 0 stars that would still be too much. absolutely appalling people work here with not two brain cells to rub together. to anybody thinking about using this company AVOID !!!!!!!!!!!! JACK STEELE the "maintenance manager" doesnt know his arse from his elbow probably because he has a serious problem. they destroy peoples reputations, lie and cheat. DO NOT TOUCH THESE COWBOYS they will take your money and not live up to their end of the agreement . AVOID DODGY AGENT WITH DODGY STAFF

If I could give negative stars, I would. Viewed a property to purchase twice and neither of the selling agents who showed us around could answer any of the questions we asked. They also booked us in with another couple at the same time so we had no privacy and did not had the agent to ourselves to ask questions. I was certainly not comfortable wanting to discuss my situation when there was another potential buyer in the building. I emailed the office with a list of questions and had to call in to chase up answers, even after I had stated in the email very clearly I was interested and wanted to move quickly. Whilst still awaiting answers to my questions, I was called to say an offer had been accepted on the property. Had I been informed there was already an offer in, I would have been able to put in an offer of my own. Poor communication skills and they do not appear to value potential buyers’ time nor offer them the respect to keep them informed of progress. At all points I felt I was a nuisance by asking questions about a property I was prepared to spend a lot of money on.

I have been using Cairn Estate and Lettings Agency ("Cairn") for the past six years and I find them very professional. I am not aware of any other letting agents in the West End of Glasgow that manage HMO lets with Cairn's extensive knowledge of the current legal requirements to protect tenants and landlords alike. They maintain a very good working relationship with Glasgow Greater Council which enables them to keep on top of both HMO and general safety & building regulations. Managing HMOs or "student lets" is not an easy task but all things considered, Cairn are "Best in Class" as far as I'm concerned.
