Martin & Co are truly dreadful, incompetent letting agents. When I moved in the house smelt of animal urine, clearly hadn't been cleaned and was full of beetles. Since then every inspection I've filled two A4 sides of serious maintenance issues and nothing has been sorted. The roof leaks, there's serious damp, and decay... They only fixed the loose stair carpet when it almost injured one of several contractors came to give a quote on fixing the roof (and never came back). Martin & Co arranged with me to move my rent payment date forward to align with my payday and then somehow forgot how this worked, constantly emailing me to say that I'd underpaid when I was paying a week earlier than before. Then they unceremoniously transferred my tenancy to another agency with no explanation, barely any warning and no details about what was happening or why. I cannot think of a worse, more profoundly useless agency to let from.

GoogleI have to say I have had an absolutely excellent service from Angela and her Lettings Team at Martin and Co. They have had our house on their books for over 6 years. There has been ups and downs as is expected when letting a property and they have been managed professionally by Angela and the highest level of customer service has always been given both in office hours and any many occasions outside of office hours. Working in a professional environment myself I appreciate the hard work and long hours Angela and her team put in and I am very very pleased with the service she has given over the last 6 years. Thank you Angela. I would also like to commend both Rachell and Rich who are in Sales who sold this very same property BEFORE it even went on the market for sale. Their follow up service and constant contact has been appreciated and there service is also of the highest level. Well done Angela Rachell and Rich. Best Wishes Hayley

GoogleThroughout renting, any enquiries that were made were never returned with an answer. The house was not cleaned very well when we moved in, however expected to be returned in a better state (at our expense). There was no check out appointment made, even though we paid for this up front when applying for the property. Going by your other reviews it's no real surprise now that the level of service is not where it is meant to be. Having used another franchise of Martin & Co in a different area, who are without fault, it is clear to me now that the service I received at the Gainsborough Branch is unacceptable. Estate agents think they hold all the power, but its time for tenants to stick up for themselves. Would not recommend unless management has a clear turn around. Guess they rely on the demographic of the area to give substandard service to the most vulnerable in the local community.

GoogleHad a viewing booked at 10:30 and got there 10:20 abit earlier as you do. Made me wait 40 minutes and still no agent arrived after calling the office numerous time and then informing me the agent will be there 5 minutes each time. The last phone call the agent in the office Sam didn’t sound bothered that I cancelled the appointment and no apology. I wasted 40 minutes of my day waiting outside the property in the cold. Really bad customer care won’t ever be using them again dodged a bullet first time. Should’ve read the reviews prior to contacting them seems like a communications a big issue and time keeping. They need better management and staff by looks of it.

GoogleAs a landlord Martin and Co, Gainsborough have been consistently great for me and my tenants over the last 6 years. They are very professional yet friendly and always reply really quickly. I particularly like their online portal that lets me see everything connected to the letting in one place. Recently Stacey Sleight has been so wonderful helping me with a long list of improvements that i wanted to leave this review.

GoogleDreadful customer service and communication from both sales team and lettings team. It's as if they are not interested in making a sale. I emailed and called multiple times in the last 2 weeks, spoke to 3 different people about viewing few properties but none of them ever got back to me - each time taking my contact details all over again and assuring me they'll get back to me. Unorganised and disinterested, avoid!

GoogleI agree with the other terrible reviews. Have been involved with property for years and now I’m needing a rental in their area for a while these people are shocking. Purposely only upload one photo of the properties so when you enquire they can harvest your data. Definitely the type of agent that works for slum landlords, as the reviews confirm. Luckily other agents in the area have been an absolute pleasure to deal with.
