I have been supported through my first house purchase by Nicola Johnson (Drayton Office). Nicola has gone above and beyond, regular updates, sage advice and guidance and total professionalism. As a first time buyer the process was a little daunting, however, Nicola has made it as stress-free as possible and has, in my opinion, gone above and beyond in order to progress the sale, even re-establishing the chain when it broke through negotiations with multiple buyers and sellers. My house has recently been sold by Bernards of Lee on the Solent. I have had an excellent selling experience with Bernards; although a big company they haven’t lost their personal touch. I was very impressed with the ‘Sales Progresser’, which title I had not come across before. A young lady by the name of Donna Abbot. Very polite, friendly and helpful. Donna quickly ‘took charge’ of the chain and ensured that information flowed between all the parties, conveyancers and solicitors. Nothing was too much trouble for her; always ready to listen and help. She ensured that our wishes and thoughts were answered. Thank you Donna!

I sold a property through Bernards. Josh at the Lee-on-the-Solent office dealt with viewings and was extremely good, keeping me informed all through the process. But a special mention for Donna Abbott at the Fareham office who dealt with ensuring the legal side all went through within my preferred timescale. Donna was exceptional, to the extent that she even replied to emails on a couple of occasions in her own time in the evenings. She chased up all parties dealing with the sale and spoke regularly to the purchasers too. It is really thanks to Donna that the sale was completed within that timescale. The service she gave was way beyond what any client could expect. Well done.

Good service and easy processes

We let a property in Cosham with the help of Jasmine Warwick. The viewing process was very easy, Jas was very professional and got back in touch quickly after we had expressed interest. The move in process was straightforward, they use Oh Goodlord to help with the transition. Property itself is great, much nicer than others on offer in our price range and in good condition. Our landlord so far is receptive to repair requests and easy to get in touch with. No faults.

One of the most efficient and informative teams I’ve worked with when buying and selling property. During the sale and purchase of upsizing David was the main agent working with me. Chris and Toby were supporting with marketing and the efficency of the buy and sale process. Not once had I felt I had not picked the right team for this process. We sold through Bernard’s Waterlooville in December 2020 and they were such an attentive, efficient and supportive team, me and my husband were delighted to hear that a lot of the same people had moved to the Fareham branch so we could deal with them all over again with our new house move this year as I felt we built such a good rapport and have a good working relationship with them from the previous time. We started with contacting Chris again as he was just brilliant last time and oversaw our house sale last time. He swiftly got the process started and we had viewings galore soon booked. And not long after, potential buyers produced some offers.. The process was not without a bit of unluck though as we lost houses that we wanted due to troublesome sellers but whenever we lost our own buyer if the chain fell apart, Bernard’s were super quick to sort it out and get us another buyer. Chris really kindly offered to get our mortgage underway with Bernard’s too to speed up the process, waivering the brokerage fee for us (perhaps as a goodwill gesture as we used the company before) which was brilliant and so good of him. Vicky got our mortgage all sorted and passed for us all in a morning which was again just first class service. Once our chain was more established, the sale was dealt with by Toby. Right from the get go, Toby was really efficient, attentive to keeping us updated, professional and friendly and determined to get this sale through for us as quickly as possible. We had issues with our solicitors which Toby persevered to press them for timely responses right until the end. He was brilliant at contacting the entire chain to ensure contact was retained and all moving parts of the chain were resolved as quickly as possible. Although the sale of our house and subsequent purchase was not without its ups and downs, Bernard’s facilitated as smooth a process as possible for us with a first class service to match as always. The guys (and Vicky) are a credit to the company. And although we have previously recommended them to both my parents and my sister (who then used them), we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else looking to purchase a house if you want an exceptional service. We would only ever contact them alone if we ever needed to move house again (hopefully only if needed now to downsize when we retire!!!!).
