Amazing service from start to completion

From start to completion, Bear was brilliant every step of the way. Every member of staff we dealt with were polite, courteous and respectful. They were very reasonably priced and worked so hard for their money. Helen was an absolute legend, keeping us updated the whole time and chased everyone when needed (which happened a lot). She was an amazing go between and without her, well I wouldn’t have been able to manage. I would highly recommend Bear to everyone. Thank you Bear and thank you so much Helen.

Helen was amazing

Helen, our senior sales progressor, was the standout of a genuinely difficult purchase. Our transaction hit multiple serious delays: a defunct solicitors' firm, confusion over the freeholder, a stalled Building Safety Act certificate. Helen was consistently the one actually pushing things forward. She tracked down direct contacts, chased on our behalf when our own solicitors were slow to respond, and kept us properly informed throughout. Genuinely don't think this purchase would have completed without her persistence. Highly recommend.

Great Estate Agent

My sale took a year to finally complete and involved 3 different sets of buyers. Bear kept me informed every step of the way and were great when the sales collapsed ensuring I had new viewings very quickly. During each sale Zoe kept me well informed managing my expectations (and stress levels!) and was always on hand if I had any questions. The whole team couldn’t have been more helpful and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.

Bear Hockley, Ellis and Zoe made it a good experience

We used Bear Hockley to sell our Mum’s property when she went in to a care home. Ellis said he would price the property to sell, without undervaluing it, and would aim to sell at asking price plus cover our costs, which is exactly what he did. He even matched his costs to those offered by another agent, less than they normally charge. There was no hard sell and Ellis had a very friendly approach caring about our position and circumstances. Property sold within 6 days of it going live and he advised on on best buyer from offers received, luckily we got one with a good deposit and no chain. There were some delays due to it being on an unadopted road, but Zoe our sales progresser was brilliant every step of the way, reassuring us and in liasing with solicitors on both sides to keep things moving. We wouldn’t hesitate in using Bear again or recommending their services to others wanting to buy or sell locally. A great experience all round.

Fantastic service throughout!

Great service from start to finish. Tom was brilliant from the start on the early negotiating sale side. Always felt I could get hold of the team for any questions etc. Then we were passed to Helen for sales progression who was faultless. She kept us up to date throughout the entire process both on email and also phone calls. Communication was superb throughout, always felt I could get help if needed and the fees were good too! Would not hesitate to recommend Bear to anyone looking to buy/sell a property!

This was my first time purchasing a property on the open market, so there was a lot that I was unfamiliar with. Helen at Bear Estates was more than willing to take the time to explain things to me and liaised with other professionals in my chain. I would get updates and emails (out of her working hours) when other channels had gone silent, so if I was in the dark, Helen quickly brought me up to speed. I found Helen to be very professional, prompt, personable and a God send!

The process with Bear Basildon is secure.

From the very start of the process to the very end we have always felt fully clear, up-to-date, informed, respected and listened to from every staff member at the Basildon branch. Not only did we need the Estate Agents to sell our property but also to work with us and consider our home situation. As my husband has long term mental illnesses and autism, he is house bound so viewings, decision making, conversations were either done a little differently or extra consideration and Bear took this on completely, with no fuss and treated us with nothing but respect, kindness and consistent fantastic knowledge about the whole process. Several members of staff were involved during the process at different stages - Jamie, Sean, Lucina, Ellie, Leigh-Anne and Joe. Joe - we cannot thank you enough - the whole team is led by Joe and there is definitely a link in everyone's qualities and skill sets that make this team very consistent, very driven, kind mannered and all a similar work ethic. The initial photos taken were excellent and showed our home well. Viewings were handled well - we were always telephoned the same day when someone wanted to view; viewings were also easily arranged; we were informed promptly if offers or further interest was shown and feedback was always given within 24hrs. We were guided to the next stage once an offer was accepted and the transition from the sales team to sales progressor moved with you - very smoothly. For several months and whilst the solicitor took lead (in our case) communication reduced with the Estate Agents . However, from time to time - and just at the right point to touch base, Joe would send an email to remind us that Bear are still available at any time to assist in anyway regarding the process stating himself, Jamie and Leigh-Anne are always on hand. This was always well timed and meant a lot as provided reassurance that one can contact Bear still at any point. Not being experienced in the buying/selling process it felt good to know. Towards the last few months leading up to completion we did respond and reach out to Bear. We liaised with Leigh-Anne, the sales progressor a few times - very on the ball and does exactly what her job title states - whatever is required to ensure your sale completes. What has also worked for us are the methods of communication that Bear use - ALL methods e.g. phone or email etc. Several phone conversations were often backed up with an email. All of this is headed by Joe and for us, we had the pleasure of having phone conversations and emails with Joe throughout the process and met him several times during viewings - such a genuine, sincere, patient person who cares passionately about the job he does but also his clients who choose Bear to act on their behalf. We really would like to convey to him our special thanks and wish him and the team nothing but the best. Thank you all.

The team in the Leigh-on-Sea office were available 7 days a week, which I found to be very useful when selling our property through them, especially for those that wanted to book viewings on weekends outside of the normal working week, as some estate agents were closed on Sundays, we thought this was certainly a plus using Bear for our sale. There was always a friendly greeting on the phone and relevant team members at all stages of the process responded when feedback was needed which was great. We found Megan to be very proactive with our sales progression, with constant communication back and forth and certainly seemed knowledgeable in her field and especially helpful on the day of our move!
