TrustpilotI used Barnard Marcus for the sale of…
I used Barnard Marcus for the sale of my property and the purchase of my new property they were great (specifically Michael Griffin and Jill Parry). I found with a few other estate agents when getting valuations that they can be quite pushy however Michael was the total opposite, he provided me with my valuation and all the information I would need to make an informed decision about selling my home and didn't try to push me into getting on the market before I was ready. My sale was actually not straight forward at all as I was buying a new build which came with a delayed completion date. Michael managed to find me a buyer that was happy to complete when I was ready move which was going to take up to 6 months. (I can't imagine there are many people who buy a home and will be that patient). Once prices had been agreed, the exchange process began which had several bumps in the road (solicitors fault) all of which Michael and Jill stayed on top of to keep things moving. Jill kept me updated as much as humanly possible and if it had not been for her im not sure we would have exchanged on the day that we did. Overall I would absolutely recommend selling or buying with Barnard Marcus, they ticked all the boxes for me and charge reasonable fees based on other quotes I was provided.

TrustpilotUnable to trust
I don't feel any trust on them according to my experience to invite them for our property's valuation. SWANS Estate Agents advertised our property with asking price of £225,000. Then Alpha Residential Estate Agents advertised our property with offers over £195,000. They even found me a buyer with offer of £185,000. But I refused the offer because our purchase price was £190,000 on 31-Mar-2021. ------------- But Barnard Marcus advised for asking price of £180,000. {I think that It's because another company called AMG Ltd (our mortgage lender's assets management company) was in contact with Barnard Marcus about our property. Barnard Marcus' agent told me about AMG Ltd works for those who can't pay mortgage repayments.}

GoogleNever use Barnard Marcus Ewell or Epsom - I had 3 valuations booked in with them. The first cancelled the day before and the second cancelled an hour before - both times I had had to arrange working from home around my busy job. The third time I got a call from Annabel 10 minutes before the valuation with them with her trying to do the valuation on the phone and said as I wasn’t a ‘hard sale’ they weren’t going to bother coming to see my home and that they’d seen similar before. She then laughed and said I probably should have told you this before as you’ve probably been waiting in, extremely unprofessional. To top it off I got a call from someone different at Barnard Marcus that afternoon asking how my house hunting was going - clearly there is absolutely no communication within the office. They’ve now potentially lost a sale and future purchase from me and many of my friends who are currently climbing the property ladder.

TrustpilotHorrible experience with Callum
Inquired about a property which we wanted to buy in cash. Had the misfortune of speaking to a very rude Callum. Conversation went like this:We: Interested in purchasing this property on cash. Can we view it. Callum: No. We: Umm, ok, could we atleast see a video?Callum: No. We: How are you proposing to sell this without us being able to see it?Very rude abrupt responses. This really isn't how you sell properties. I would never ask them to sell mine.

GoogleGreat experience with Bernard Marcus Ewell branch. But the person who stood out the most with his exceptional service was Marc Cox.
A lot of estate agents don't want to get involved once a sale I agreed, but Marc was always willing to help and always available for help and advice when needed. There were several occasions when I needed information from the seller, and he would promptly get back with answers, often on the same day.
He was friendly, professional and offered great service.

TrustpilotI would not recommend anyone to use…
I would not recommend anyone to use them. I bought property through them and I lost of lot of money. Its partly my mistake as I didn't know its possible to sell property without person who sells the property not being the owner of the property. They lied to me that person is in the process of the registration and it will take few months. The true was something else. It took me 11 months to register that property with massive Council Tax bill for empty property as well as heroin squatters being inside for 6 months. Two weeks is very short of period to check all tricks that they use to get you into trouble and unsolvable problems. You have to have very experienced solicitors who can read their selling contract special conditions which are usually on written on 20 pages adding all sort of hidden cost on top of the auction price. I paid 8k plus buyers solicitors fee. Mind you they have their own solicitors company who writes this kind od special conditions and "Clients" who they selling for. As I said if you don't have big experience with Bernard Marcus Auctions sale methods don't bother to go there and bid for the properties as you can make costly mistake regret it big time. There are not good deals there for anyone...

TrustpilotANDREJA KMETOVIC IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND…
ANDREJA KMETOVIC IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND VERY UNHELPFUL. HE IS A LIAR AND A CHEAT. HE IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. HE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO RESPECT PEOPLE. AND TREAT CLIENTS WITH RESPECT!!!The breakdown in communication happened from you, not us. You spoke to my partner about moving up the start of tenancy date to which you said you will let her know after presenting the offer to the landlord. You failed to do that. The dates were the issue here and you failed to notify either one of us that the landlord wanted to proceed with the originally given dates.I really don't appreciate how you have spoken to both of us. According to Victor, I never even spoke to you, which is false. You used the word negotiation on the phone to my partner. This means you should have come back to us and informed us of the dates being the ones given in the offer letter. At no point did Victor also say on Saturday that the holding deposit will be taken away immediately without any consent being given. You both do not seem to understand how to communicate with clients. You cutting the call on my fiancée is unacceptable. You raised your voice first. Victor saying that me and my partner are together means we are one is wrong. It is not my bank account and I am not authorised to make a payment on her behalf. It is illegal. If she did not pick up the phone, you had a responsibility to wait or at least email her, get her consent, then make the charge. Victor saying that this is now how you work as agents is shocking. You do not inform your clients before taking payment? How is that an acceptable business practice? You are saying you took the holding deposit after the landlord confirmed. At what point did you confirm this with either one of us? Victor said that he rang me and I gave him the go ahead. This never happened. It is you two who are messing up facts and diving deeper into miscommunication. Victor said you dropped my partner an email to confirm. This never happened. No email was sent. Before accusing us of falsifying facts, you both need to clarify your stories first and speak to prospective clients properly. You operate in a crowded business market. There is plenty of competition out there so why do you speak to genuinely interested people in this demeaning way? This tenancy is not going forward purely due to the miscommunication, lies, and making up of facts mostly due to you, Andreja. As my partner said, you took the money from her account without any consent or information, this money needs to be returned urgently. This has to happen as you both left us in the dark and did not communicate when you clearly needed to.Refund my money as soon as possible otherwise I will be taking legal action.

GoogleMy partner and I recently bought a home through Barnard and Marcus. We did our viewings with Rachael who was great. She provided information, has great communication and was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend using the agents here. Even though we are in the house now they have checked in on us and have been replying to our enquiries promptly. We got a lovely gift box on completion from Rachael which was a lovely surprise.

TrustpilotUnprofessional conduct and disregard
Erected a 'for sale' sign on a private residential building in a spot clearly marked 'so estate agent signs' within private property boundary. Repeatedly asked by management company to take down the sign and lied they would. Complete disregard and respect for residential rules for business gains and brand advertising.

TrustpilotI instructed them to let my flat
I instructed them to let my flat. There were a few things that I was concerned about in terms of their professionalism but ignored it. However I got an offer for my flat from them and was told the references and comprehensive checks were coming. They came the night before the tenants were due to move in (despite me chasing constantly). They failed then affordability checks, and were not certainly not comprehensive but I was told that was what insurance was for. I withdrew and said I felt sorry for the tenants, and got told by Anton he “did not give a sh@t about the tenants” and him telling me how great he was . In addition, despite having my number they kept calling my partner rather than me… I complained and they completely did not answer my complaint in any way, shape or form. Finally, my partner got a call from someone who used to work in Anton’s branch to say she had moved as she could not work for him, and they got lots of complaints about him. Completely different to what they said in their response to me. I finally let my flat for more than they marketed it for and with great tenants. AVOID

TrustpilotOverall experience with Bernard Marcus has been disappointing and stressful.
Worst property managers i have ever experienced! We have lived in a property they manage for a while now, but they are Incompetent in responding to any maintenance issues. There employees, especially Samantha, are extremely rude. They ignore your requests/ emails and phone calls, they leave you living in a mouldy property. They do not care about there tenants. They are more interested in getting there fees. You are constantly chasing them to do there jobs properly. Our boiler broke down three times within a year, they leave you without hot water and heating for a week in the winter period and think this is a reasonable amount of time to get a contractor out. The property was not professionally cleaned when we first moved in. The oven broke down three times within 6 months, each time over a week to fix. The company is full of excuses and lies. Extremely shocked that they are still operating and landlords are using them. Inspections completed, but tenants are not allowed the report or want to charge tenant fees! I know for a fact that they just want to take tenants deposit for no reason. Overall experience with Bernard Marcus has been disappointing and stressful.

TrustpilotI’d give 5 x 5 five stars if I could
The service by Barnard Marcus, notably Eva and her team was excellent. They are friendly, responsive and professional. Eva gave us an honest appraisal of our house and we had a viable buyer after a week on the market. Barnard Marcus kept in touch and helped make the process smooth. We’re now happily in our new home - from marketing my house to completion BM were on it every step of the way. Thank you.

GoogleI would rate the service provided by Glen Fulham (Sequence -- the mortgage arm of Barnard Marcus) very highly. We have used the service twice now and found him to be very efficient, helpful and professional. The turnaround is very quick and at each step you are updated on status and progress. I would recommend Glen (and Sequence) to anyone looking for mortgage options.

Trustpilot8 weeks is apparently a 'slight' delay
We reported heavy mould build up in our bedroom walls at the start of December. Samantha Patterson emailed us on the 8th December 2022 to ask us for more photos of the mould. We replied on the same day.We emailed again on the 6th January 2023 with updated photos of the mould as it was getting worse but still no reply. Emailed again on 22nd January 2023 for an update but got no reply. Finally got a reply today (24th January 2023) from Samantha apologising for the 'slight' delay. "I am been waiting for a response form the managing agents of the building who should investigate the possible leak. As I have not yet received a response, I am going back to your landlord to suggest next steps to try and get things moving and resolved."1) 8 weeks since last contact is not a slight delay. 2) There is a leak. it's not the first time we reported this. The managing agents of the building knows this and so does the landlord.3) Why does it take 6 weeks (minus 2 weeks for the festive period) of non contact from the managing agents before informing the landlord?

TrustpilotLetting agents are liars
Their letting agents are liars, they lied about the cleaning services and other fixations before move in, they kept pushing for deposits. They delayed all the documentation until the last minute, when I got the key and went to the apartment it stinked, it was dirty and windows were full of mold. Beaware of the letting agent in their finchley branches.

TrustpilotWonderful experience with Alan
I had a fantastic experience working with Alan throughout the purchase of my flat. After almost a full year of searching for a property, dealing with many different agencies and unfortunately going through several unsuccessful situations, it was such a relief to finally work with someone as supportive and collaborative as Alan.

TrustpilotVery good buying experience
The journey to found a flat to buy is quite difficult and the stress of being a first time buyer doesn't help. When we visited our flat for the first time with Bernard Marcus we had no special expectation about this agency and were prepared for a stressful few weeks. However we were lucky enough to deal with Will who, thanks to his enthusiasm and professionalism, made the process smoother and interactive.During the past few weeks, Will has been caring, present and proactive to make sure the sell would go through with less issues possible.I recommend using and trusting this agency and Will!

TrustpilotEvil company
Evil company. Nothing is good about them. When we moved in refrigerator broke down we let them know they didn't even answer. We had to buy new one. End of our contract they asked can you sell the refrigerator for a reasonable price we said ok, they never paid. End of our contract they raised %40 rent. We had to move out. They never came for inventory check and It took 5 months to get our deposit back. They never contacted us. Not even once. At least 20 times I contacted them but they just ignored. Which is deposit must be paid in ten days. 5 months without any single information. Everything I wrote here I can prove. I have kept every single message and email.

GoogleFrom the initial call to the branch to list the sale to the news that we have exchanged every interaction with Barnard Marcus was professional, friendly and extremely helpful. Marc, the Regional Sales Manager was great, but the star was their Sales Progression Manager, Jill Parry, who literally got the exchange and completion over the line. Jill was more informative than my solicitor, and I am sure the sale would have taken weeks longer if it had not been for Jill. What an amazing Team at Barnard Marcus, no hesitation in recommending them. Worth every penny. They worked so very hard for me. Thank you Team Barnard Marcus. Kate Baldwin

TrustpilotGreasy, useless estate agents. Big fans of conditional selling. Avoid.
Greasy, useless estate agents. Pressured me multiple times into only being able to buy a property through them if I would use their mortgage brokerage service ~ barely hiding behind the fact this is illegal conditional selling. Surprise surprise: said service is hugely overpriced (circa. £900, where this can be done for free - although they'll get very upset with you for doing so). Multiple attempts to upsell insurance products.
