Surveyor given keys to walk through house with occupant in bed

My son is using these to sell his house but as i live there all visits were to be arranged with me. Yesterday a surveyor had arranged to come but i was not given a time, my son told me they would give him a time before the visit. I work regular nights and to my horror just after 9am someone started coming up the stairs towards my bedroom shouting hello.They had given the keys to the surveyor to let himself in but what is more odd is why was he making his way upstairs to the bedrooms.I rang to complain cant get them to answer the phone, i rang and have emailed their head office 3 times but no reply.They couldnt care less i am living with the key and furniture piled up against the door considering getting the locks changed or phoning the police.I am a disabled person extremely vulnerable in my own home.No way would i give this firm any business they have no professional standards and shouldnt be allowed to operate

I feel sorry for the poor sodds who have these guys as their estate agent. Tried to book in to view some houses they are advertising and was told we had to have to speak to a mortgage adviser first. Unusual, but fine, did that. Having done that tried to get viewings booked, telling them any time on a specific day given - they not only failed to book the viewings, but when we called to ask when they were on the day, they then had the cheek to blame us for not giving them a specific time (I would have thought any time would be easier). Who knows what would have happened if we saw those houses, but we've now offered elsewhere. Oh and the mortgage company they refer you too has 1 star on trust pilot. Undoubtedly they get a great commission for referrals. If you have these guys, I'd recommend looking for another agent.

Do not go with this estate agent. Got email wrong and contract didn't arrive, photographer turned up with no PPE on and walked into my house, photos mediocre but attention to detail dreadful, took a week for photos to arrive, didn't offer a sale board, house of market for a week no intetest but didnt call any one. Was after a property also with them. No communication dreadful service. Property I put the offer in for I think has now been taken off market and not even a courtesy call to tell me.

Had Patrick come out and value my house giving some great advise and linked me up with Jess for mortgage advice. Very honest advise when compared to the other agents used for valuation. As it was looks like we will part exchange if we didn't would have sold through Abbots.

Do not fall for their sales pitch

Do not fall for their sales pitch. They were the only estate agents that wanted to charge a £149 upfront fee even though i provided them with professional photos. They told me they had a specific buyer lined up for my property. Months later and not 1 viewing. They now ignore my emails and even though my contract is for multi agent, have told me I will have to pay a their fee if another agent sells in the next 2 years. AVOID USING THIS COMAPNY

Wouldn't use them if there was only one Estate Agent...in the world.

I have previously put my property on the market with Abbotts. Firstly, they were not very good listeners at all. They wouldn't listen to comments about how I knew my house after living there for around a decade (at the time) & when it comes to photographs (on Rightmove) apparently less is more according to them. I eventually removed the property from the market unsold but they had the cheek to ring me one day & TELL ME that I needed to put it back on again with them. They are very corporate, money focused & employ high-pressure generic employees (like them) I get a letter almost EVERY WEEK now it is back on the market again telling me that it's time to list with them. If it feels wrong then don't do it.

So very Bad.

So very bad. When a company insists that a potential buyer prove their monetary situation even before viewing a property, let alone getting to the point of making an offer, it is not only pointless, rude and disrespectful to those who go to them to view a property, but more importantly, does a huge disservice to the people who go to them to sell their property. I assume they are so flooded with sales that they can afford to act in that way on behalf of their clients. Monetary verification comes at a later date once an offer has been made. It's like walking into an auto showroom and proving your bank balance prior to looking! A crazy bad business policy that in this case may have lost a sale for their client.

Unacceptable service

If you are looking to rent a property or planning to let your property like I did then you must avoid this company.Abbotts was managing my property and the entire experience was very very bad. This company has been failing me on every level and I have been very disappointed. My property was left uninhabitable following the tenancy causing great financial burden for me. The tenancy ended 7 months ago and I am still waiting for return of deposit and closure of my books. I have not seen anything as unprofessional and self centred. Please avoid at all cost.

Delays in getting repairs done in the property . For example 6 weeks without a washing machine . Calls never returned . Very poor customer service especially when ending my tenancy . Friendly until you sign and move in , then they aren't interested in you anymore . Will never use them again
